- Structure Name: Sith Citadel of Dromund Kaas
- Classification: Administrative Center, Sith Residence
- Location: Kaas City, Dromund Kaas
- Affiliation:
- Accessibility: All activity surrounding the Sith Citadel was extensively monitored, and had several levels of access codes attached to the structure, with the Citadel's ground-level being the most open to access, and subsequent high and lower levels requiring more and more clearance to access. The Halls of Solomon, the sanctuary of the Sith Dyarchy and their family, was completely off-limits to anyone who was not a Zambrano.
- Description: The Sith Citadel of Dromund Kaas is the unassailable heart of Kainite power, a grim fortress that dominates the skyline of the storm-wracked capital. Its towering obsidian spires claw at the heavens, illuminated by arcs of crimson lightning that crackle through the perpetual storm, as if the Dark Side itself rages around it. More than a mere stronghold, the Citadel is a living testament to Sith supremacy, its very foundations imbued with the oppressive energy of centuries of dark rituals, conquests, and treachery. Every inch of its design serves a singular purpose—to radiate fear, power, and the undeniable presence of the Dark Lords who reign from within.
Beneath its foreboding exterior, the Citadel is a labyrinth of power and secrecy, housing the elite of the Sith Order, their warriors, assassins, and the arcane knowledge of generations past. The Throne Amphitheater serves as the seat of the Dark Lord's rule, where decrees are issued, traitors are executed, and supplicants kneel in absolute submission. The Sanctuaries of Strength, Knowledge, Power, Passion, and Victory govern the whole of the Sith Kabal, shaping those who swear allegiance to it into weapons of destruction, while the Artifact Vault safeguards relics of unspeakable power, kept from unworthy hands. The deepest recesses of the fortress descend into darkness—dungeons where prisoners are broken, Sithspawn lurk in waiting, and forgotten passages lead to the Dark Temple, sealed away by layers of deadly security and ancient sorceries.
The Citadel is not merely defended by walls and warriors but by an intricate network of security measures designed to repel even the most determined intruders. The Imperial Crownguard stand watch as the last line of defense, their blades sworn to the Dark Lord's will, while the Sanctum of the Crownguard ensures absolute control over every movement within its halls. Automated turrets, lethal Sithspawn, alchemically forged sentinels, and shadowed assassins patrol its depths, eliminating any who dare breach its sanctity. The Dark Side itself coils through the corridors, manifesting in traps, illusions, and whispered threats that drive trespassers to madness. The Sith Citadel is more than a fortress—it is a crucible, where only the strongest survive and the weak are consumed by the unrelenting darkness.

Specialized custodians guarded the Athenaeum, deterring any would-be intruders from partaking in the Shadow Hand's secrets.
- Hypaethral Gardens: Set in roofless courtyards, the Dark Lord possesses a multi-tiered garden structure where flora accumulated from across the galaxy are tended to by dedicated caretakers. The oppressive presence of the Dark Side saturates the air, making the very act of standing within its confines a test of willpower.
- The Inner Vault: The heart of the chamber, where the most dangerous and invaluable artifacts are sealed within individual containment fields, each inscribed with Sith runes of warding. The obsidian walls pulse with raw, contained energy, reacting to the presence of intruders with a growing sense of dread. Each artifact is locked behind intricate mechanisms, requiring both physical and Force-based authentication to access.
- Guardian Hall: A long, ominous corridor leading to the Vault's entrance, flanked by towering statues of past Sith Lords who gaze down with unrelenting scrutiny. The true sentinels, however, are the specialized guards stationed here—elites trained in techniques to counter both Jedi and Sith, wielding weapons resistant to lightsabers and trained in the arts of suppression and ambush. Some whisper that the statues themselves house dormant Sith spirits, ready to awaken should the Vault be threatened.
- The Warding Glyphs: Inscribed throughout the Vault are ancient Sith glyphs, each meticulously placed to weave an intricate web of defenses. These glyphs create anti-light fields in some areas, preventing telekinetic manipulation, mind tricks or the use of light side abilities, while in others, they amplify Dark Side energies, overwhelming those unprepared for their corrupting touch. Trespassers who fail to solve their riddles may find themselves ensnared in illusions or worse—permanently trapped within a prison of their own mind.
- The Dyarch's Sanctum: A hidden chamber within the Vault, accessible only to the Dyarchs and those they deems worthy. This private repository contains personal artifacts, forbidden knowledge, and experimental relics too dangerous to be known by even the Sith ruling elite. It is said that within this chamber lies the means to command forgotten Sith magics or awaken forces long thought lost to history.
- Sanctum of the Crownguard: Nestled deep within the highest levels of the Sith Citadel, the Sanctum of the Crownguard serves as the nerve center for the Imperial Crownguard, the elite protectors of the Sith Dyarchy. This fortified enclave is meticulously designed to ensure the utmost security and efficiency in safeguarding the Dark Lord.

Racks of broadsabers, concussion lances, and customized battle armor line the walls, each meticulously maintained and ready for deployment. The ambient red lighting casts an ominous glow, reflecting the lethal purpose of its contents.
- Barracks: The Barracks provide the Crownguard with quarters for rest and reflection. The walls are inscribed with Sith proverbs, serving as constant reminders of their duty and the sacrifices they've embraced.

- Serf Quarters: In the periphery of the sanctum are the Serf Quarters, where the mute serfs reside. These individuals, bound by life oaths to serve the Crownguard, have their mouths sewn shut to ensure the secrecy of their masters. Their quarters are modest, reflecting their singular purpose and the solemn nature of their service.

- Sanctum of the Shikkari: A hidden sanctum deep within the sub-levels of the Citadel, the Sanctuary of the Shikkari is a place of ritual, training, and death. Few outside the assassin-priesthood ever lay eyes upon this shadowed domain, and fewer still leave once they do. The air is thick with incense and the whispers of ancient incantations, while the stone walls are inscribed with the blood-oaths of generations past. Dim red and violet flames flicker in hanging braziers, casting shifting shadows that seem almost alive.
- The Hall of the Nameless: A narrow, elongated chamber lined with blackstone alcoves, each hollow and empty, representing the forsaken pasts of the initiates who walk its length. At the far end stands a raised dais, where a robed elder of the Shikkari carves a new name into the flesh of each inductee's forearm, sealing their rebirth in the old Sith tongue. The dim lighting and flickering braziers create an eerie, almost dreamlike atmosphere, as if the very air is thick with the weight of forgotten identities. This is where initiates of the Shikkari surrender their former identities, undergoing the rite of rebirth before being given their new names in the Sith tongue. The walls are lined with hollow alcoves, representing the empty pasts of those who serve.
- The Sepulcher of the Embalmed: A vast crypt-like chamber, its walls carved with intricate reliefs depicting the long lineage of the Shikkari stretching back to the time of King Adas. Large blackstone sarcophagi sit in perfectly symmetrical rows, each inscribed with the Sith glyph of the fallen's name, their remains anointed in oils and wrapped in cloth woven with alchemical runes. A deep, echoing silence pervades the space, broken only by the hushed murmurs of the Embalmers as they chant death rites in the ancient Sith tongue. Deeper within this is the vault where the Embalmers prepare the bodies of the sacred dead, anointing them with dark oils and performing the ancient burial rites of King Adas's time. Those who die prominent deaths are entombed within sealed sarcophagi, ensuring that their spirits remain bound to the service of the Dark Lord.
- The Blooded Cloister: A hidden training hall bathed in an eerie crimson glow, its smooth obsidian floors etched with intricate ritual markings that pulse with dark energy. The walls are lined with weapon racks holding an array of Sith daggers, throwing needles, and alchemically sharpened blades, each imbued with a subtle hunger for blood. In total silence, the Blades practice their arts, moving like wraiths through the chamber, their footfalls making no sound as they execute precision kills on shadowed effigies of the Dark Lord's enemies. This is the hidden training ground where the Blades hone their arts in absolute silence, striking at phantom enemies in the dim light. The floor is marked by intricate ritual patterns, activated by the presence of a Kissai, allowing them to practice techniques designed to kill in the fewest possible movements.
- The Oathfire Pit: A deep, circular pit carved into the heart of the sanctuary, where an eternal flame of Sith sorcery burns with an unnatural, violet hue. A ring of ancient Sith runes encircles the pit, glowing faintly whenever a condemned traitor is thrown into its depths, their agonized screams swallowed by the thick, oppressive darkness. The flames are said to burn beyond the physical, searing not just flesh but spirit. This is a ceremonial site where those who betray their oaths to the Dyarchy, the Eternal Rule, or the Kainate as a whole meet their end through immolation. The fire is said to be fueled by Sith sorcery, ensuring that the condemned feel their flesh burn for eternity even after death.
- Dark Temple Passageway: A long-forgotten, passageway leading to the rebuilt Dark Temple of Dromund Kaas. This is no mere tunnel; it is a labyrinth of death, a gauntlet designed to break the mind, body, and spirit of any intruder. Every step toward the temple invites a new horror, an unseen doom waiting to claim those foolish enough to tread its depths unbidden. The defenses here are not merely mechanical or technological—though such safeguards exist—but are imbued with the raw, malevolent power of the Dark Side. The passage hums with dark energy, and ghostly whispers taunt those who walk it. Deep within is a series of twisting corridors where illusions and Sith spirits drive intruders mad.
- The Labyrinth of Agony: This twisting network of corridors is an ever-shifting maze, changing its structure at random intervals through ancient Sith sorcery. A traveler might find a path ahead only for the walls to seal behind them, cutting off any retreat. The air is thick with ghostly murmurs, some leading intruders astray with whispers of false guidance, others screaming in bloodcurdling agony to shatter the mind.
- The Abyssal Gate: A cursed threshold that leads nowhere—or everywhere. Those who step through without the proper Sith incantation find themselves lost in an endless void, trapped in a timeless, spiraling abyss where light and sound are devoured. To some, it appears as a long, empty corridor; to others, it is an endless drop into darkness, where unseen talons claw at flesh and souls.
- Wrathbound Guardians: Imposing, blackstone statues of long-dead Sith Lords stand in the passage, their hollow eyes gleaming with malice. These are no mere decorations; within them are bound the souls of ancient Sith warriors, eternally enraged and waiting for a challenge. Should an intruder pass without the Dark Lord's blessing, the statues erupt to life, striking with superhuman speed, their alchemized blades cutting through armor and flesh alike.
- The Bleeding Veil: A seemingly empty stretch of the corridor where the very air ripples with unseen energy. Those who step into this space are immediately wracked with agony, as their own life essence is siphoned away to feed the Dark Side. The walls begin to weep blood as the victim's vitality is drained, their strength stolen until they collapse into a withered husk, their last sight being the crimson ichor seeping from the stones.
- The Phantom Warden: A tormented Sith spirit that stalks the passageway, its form flickering between reality and the void. The Phantom Warden cannot be reasoned with and cannot be escaped—only those who bear the Dark Lord's mark may pass unscathed. For all others, the Warden whispers their deepest fears, manifesting them into horrifying visions until the intruder either flees in madness or succumbs to despair.
- The Void Maw: A gaping chasm of pure darkness near the passage's final threshold, appearing as a swirling vortex of shadow. Any who try to leap or traverse it without the Dark Lord's will are ensnared by unseen tendrils of Force energy, dragged screaming into its depths. Whether they are devoured, banished to some unknown realm, or simply cease to exist is unknown—none have returned to tell.
- Sith Dungeon: A nightmarish labyrinth where enemies of the Sith are held, tortured, and broken.

Maximum
- Physical & Structural Defenses
- Obsidian Reinforced Walls: The citadel's outer walls are of gargantuan proportions. The walls are thirty meters wide and a hundred meters tall, larger than most of the structures surrounding them. Defense towers consisting of massive gun-citadels run every hundred meters along the lengths of the walls. The walls of the citadel themselves are made of Nemeroth's Hide infused with Sith alchemy, making them resistant to most forms of assault from lightsabers, explosions to heavy bombardment. Inner chambers feature cortosis-lined plating, capable of shorting out lightsabers upon impact.
- Marr's Aegis: A highly sophisticated multi-layered shielding system, including deflector, particle, ray, and dark-side-imbued energy shields, ensuring that even if one layer is breached, others remain intact.
- Dark Side Nexus Field: The entire citadel is surrounded by a constantly pulsating dark side field, weakening Jedi, clouding enemy minds, and strengthening Sith defenders.
- Storm Conduit Arrays: Harnessing the endless storms of Dromund Kaas, the citadel can unleash devastating arcs of Sith lightning against any ship or ground forces approaching unauthorized zones.
- Buried Entrapment Spikes: Sith-forged metal spikes that rise from the ground at command, impaling unwanted guests attempting to breach the perimeter.
- Sonic Disruptor Fields: Emit low-frequency dark side pulses that disorient and cause hallucinations in intruders, breaking their focus and rendering them vulnerable.
- Automated Defense Systems
- Advaned Defense Array: Advanced, automated weaponry that tracks and obliterates threats from both ground and aerial attacks and incoming vessels. These massive Gun-citadels run every hundred meters along the lengths of the walls and were comprised of multiple heavy lancers, reductors, and megamasers. Inside the walls are endless amounts of power generators, ammunition trains, starcraft hangars, barracks, and deflector shield generators. Stretching for thousands of kilometers, much of this area is defended by Koshûtaral Sentinel regiments. These walls are in truth more of a contiguous fortress than a simple barrier.
- Self-Regenerating Barricades: Entrances to vital areas are sealed with heavily reinforced Nemeroth's Hide made from nanotech formed. This creates a form of living metal that regenerates damage and adapts to intrusion methods.
- Force-Sensitive Trigger Mechanisms: Entrances, elevators, and high-security doors require an imprint of a Sith's dark side presence to open. Jedi attempting to use the Force are met with severe backlash.
- Trap Lanes & Kill Corridors: Many of the passageways are designed with sudden blast doors, automatic turrets, and collapsing floors that drop intruders into Sith beast pits. These massive passages are designed in many ways to strip all of the advantages away from invaders or intruders.
- Internal Lockdown System: A fail-safe lockdown system installed throughout the citadel that can seal entire wings or rooms from the rest of the structure. Once activated, all access points to the sealed areas are closed, and the areas themselves can be flooded with deadly toxins or energy pulses. Some sections may even be converted into temporary holding cells or containment zones for Force users, neutralizing internal threats. The unique system is highly effective for controlling internal uprisings, suppressing intruders, or isolating specific areas until reinforcements arrive. The system also works on a hierarchical clearance level, meaning only certain Sith Lords and Commanders have access to override it. The system utilizes:
- Turadium Blast Doors
- Laser Gates
- Force Field Generators
- Selective Blaster Neutralizer
- Rotary Autoblasters
- Door-Fields
- Echo Pulse Protected Computer Systems
- Nullifier Fields (Click)
- Sith Defenders & Enforcers:
- The Blackblade Guard: A full legion of the infamous Blackblade Guard are stationed within, and reinforce the strongholds defenses, clad in dark armor, they are trained to eliminate even the deadliest opponents.
- Koshûtaral Sentinels: The Sith Citadel complex was patrolled and guarded by Koshûtaral Sentinel regiments, who were suicidally loyal to the Sith Dyarchy and their family. They were incorruptible and incapable of being swayed away from their duty and would take their own lives if prompted by the Eternal Father and his close kin. These Sentinels were supported by a variety of war droids: X13 Paladin-series Synthmarines, ARAC-6 "Irontide" Spiderbots, C1 Security Drones, and the Mark I and Mark II variant "Scourge" War Droids, and Skytrooper and Praetorian Skytrooper Command Unit. These droids could be replenished when provided enough material from foundries on site.
- Aerial Wings: Multiple launch bays and hangars litter the Citadel's defensive towers and structure, capable of launching multiple wings of starfighters in defense of the Citadel. The majority of fighters stored within these bays were Sion-class Heavy Starfighter Mk. II piloted by members of the Crownguard Guard and decorated with distinct red coloration, alongside several squadrons of Banshee Cyborg-Fighters.
- Imperial Crownguard: The Halls of Solomon were instead guarded by the elite Imperial Crownguard, the sovereign protectors of the Ruling Family. They were even more fanatically devoted to the Zambranos than the Koshûtaral Sentinel and were entirely comprised of Epicanthix chosen and vetted by the Eternal Father and Shadow Hand themselves, augmented with science and magic to be far beyond what they had been.
- Sith Wraiths: Restless spirits of ancient Sith bound to the citadel, materializing as shadowy horrors that drain the life force of intruders.
- Sith Alchemic War Beasts: All throughout the massive Sith Citadel inside and outside is an entire horde of Sithspawn strategically positioned in various areas. These include massive, grotesque creatures altered through Sith alchemy, Monoliths and Terentateks are an active presence within the halls of the Citadel, controlled only by force of Beastmasters and a select few within the stronghold. Due to the Shadow Hand's close relationship with Darth Arcanix, many of the monsters within come from her laboratories, these include but not limited to:
- Covens of Arana: Several covens of the Arana species live within the Sith Citadel and are tasked with its defense; these include but are not limited to:
- Shikkar: Silent, cloaked Sith Assassins from among the assassin-priests of the Shikkar who monitor the corridors, phasing in and out of shadows to strike from the darkness. There is a special subset of these assassins designated to defend the citadel that undergo specialized rituals that imprint tattoos on their body in order to utilize their full powers within these halls. Those stationed here can be sent out to perform various missions of importance to the Kainate as a whole if necessary.
- Dark Side Ritual Defenses:
- The Bloodlock Gates: Certain sections of the citadel can only be accessed through Sith blood rites, meaning that non-Sith attempting entry will be violently repelled or incinerated.
- Dark Side Warding Barriers: Entrances to vital areas are sealed by Sith-imbued energy fields that can only be bypassed by those steeped in the dark side, while shocking, repelling, or draining the life force of any intruder who attempts unauthorized passage.
- Darkside Disruption Web: A network of Sith-forged pylons and alchemic relays saturates the citadel with an ever-present ripple in the Force, unraveling attempts at Force cloaking, masking techniques, or teleportation. Any intruder attempting to conceal their presence will find their abilities violently disrupted, their connection to the Force fluctuating chaotically, causing disorientation, searing pain, and involuntary exposure to the citadel's relentless defenses.
- Force Suppression Chambers: Rooms that strip intruders of their Force abilities, leaving them vulnerable to Sith enforcers.
- Sith Holocron Guardians: Some holocrons within the citadel manifest spectral enforcers that engage in lethal combat if an intruder attempts to steal or access forbidden knowledge.
- The Echoing Labyrinth: A series of shifting corridors infused with Sith illusions, designed to mislead, trap, and mentally break those who do not belong.
- Environmental & Psychological Warfare:
- Mind-Shattering Echoes: The walls of the citadel reverberate with the screams of past victims, amplified through Sith alchemy to erode the sanity of unwelcome guests.
- Living Shadows: Dark side manifestations that move independently, stalking intruders and whispering twisted visions into their minds.
- Blood Mist Defense: A rare Sith alchemical defense that fills certain corridors with a dense, crimson fog that rapidly corrodes flesh and armor alike.
- Fear-Inducing Aura: The citadel itself radiates an overwhelming aura of terror, causing weaker enemies to freeze in fear, hesitate, or flee outright.

The Sith Citadel of Dromund Kaas was once the seat of power of Vitiate, Dark Lord of the Sith, during his rule over the Reconstituted Sith Empire thousands of years ago. In the aftermath of the Sith Empire's fall, the Citadel and Kaas City itself was abandoned and left to rot under the decay of time. Centuries passed as the Citadel fell further and further into disrepair, a moldering monument to the past failings of the Sith. Though the nearby Dark Force Temple was briefly occupied by the Prophets of the Dark Side, they left the Citadel untouched by their presence. It wasn't until the Sith returned to Dromund Kaas under the auspices of Darth Sidic that the Citadel was again inhabited.
Darth Sidic and his followers repaired the crumbling Citadel and used it as their base of operations in the establishment of a new Sith Empire. They breathed new life into Kaas City and had their loyal non-Sith followers take up residence in the city as the basis for a new founding aristocracy. Eventually, more colonists were summoned to Dromund Kaas to inhabit the city, and therefore, the Citadel as well. Darth Sidic was eventually replaced by a triumvirate of Sith Lords, Disciple, Darth Voracitos, and Darth Moridin. Though briefly sharing power between themselves, Moridin outmaneuvered the others and established himself as the new Sith Emperor; the first in generations.
To cement his new authority, Moridin stormed into the Sith Citadel and cut down the Sith Council which had conducted civil affairs for the fledgling Empire. He appointed a rising star, Kaine Zambrano, as his Grand Vizier to oversee the new Sith government as head of Moridin's cabinet. Zambrano went to work reforming the Empire's bureaucracy, which had grown lazy under the previous ruling triumvirate. He also set about restructuring the Sith Citadel and improving upon its defenses, taking down all symbols of the Sith who had stood against Moridin's seizure of power.
The citadel would remain more or less the same throughout the rest of Moridin's reign, the reign of Ashin Varanin, Darth Voracitos, and the majority of Tyrin Ardik's. The Citadel suffered some damage during the event known as the Thronebreaking, where Mikhail Shorn and several other Sith stormed the Citadel and dethroned Tyrin Ardik after a short brawl. The throne of the Sith was shattered by Shorn's hand, and he appointed Dranok Lussk as the new Sith Emperor before leaving the Empire's domain. Lussk himself would later be overthrown by Kaine Zambrano, who anointed himself Sith Emperor and made the Citadel his seat of power, like the Emperors before him.
During the Imperial-Republic War, the Sith Citadel was destroyed by a marauding army of Mandalorians who struck at Dromund Kaas while the majority of the Empire's armies were fighting the Galactic Republic. The Sith Citadel crumbled into the earth along with the majority of Kaas City, destroyed and buried.
The Citadel would not be restored until decades later, when the Restored Sith Empire under the control of Kaine Zambrano, known as Darth Carnifex, restored order to Dromund Kaas after driving the Silver Jedi and other squatters who had taken up residence on the former Sith capital away. The Sith Citadel, along with what would become New Kaas City, was constructed according to architectural plans devised by Darth Carnifex. Carnifex then made the renewed Sith Citadel his seat of power, as he had done so when he last ruled as Emperor. The Sith Citadel continued to serve as the Sith Empire's administrative heart, anchoring the dozens of ministries and government offices that comprised the Empire's vast government.
It would remain as the beating heart of the Empire until the Sith-Imperial Civil War that saw the Sith Empire fall to the combined might of the New Imperial Order, and Galactic Alliance. House Zambrano relocated to Malsheem and cleared much of the Sith Citadel out before the capital finally fell, to such a degree that the complex was a blasted, empty ruin when the occupiers finally came to take it. Dromund Kaas would once more fall into shadow, claimed by the light wielding Ashlan Crusade. Much of the remaining Sith Citadel was destroyed in their ensuing occupation of the planet as the zealous crusaders desperately tried to tear down the colossal structure. Eventually the Ashlan Crusade itself fell apart, collapsing into shadow and leaving remnants on the planet.
It wouldn't be until the resurgence of the Sith Order that Dromund Kaas would see a reprieve from those who stalked it. The Kainate under the leadership of the Sith Dyarchy - Eternal Father Darth Carnifex, and Shadow Hand Darth Prazutis reclaimed the Sith Holy Worlds driving away all remnants and squatters off Dromund Kaas. The Sith Citadel, along with what would become the restored New Kaas City, was constructed according to architectural plans devised by Darth Prazutis. Unlike it once was the distinctive blend of Sith-Imperial influences were changed in favor of a stronger Sith influence throughout. The very design of the Citadel itself was changed, altered to a towering fortress of black iron and dark energy. Prazutis then made the renewed Sith Citadel his seat of power, the center of all Kainite operations on Dromund Kaas. The structure was expanded with its sub-levels deepened into the Lost City of Kaas below, vastly expanding the size and including a base for the Shikkari. The Sith Citadel continued to serve as the beating heart of administration on the planet. It was a stronghold perfectly designed to contain and run the shadow government of the Kainate, coordinating all of their efforts from across the galaxy.
