SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Energy shielded plastithread/synthmesh fabric blend flight suit - an airtight flight suit which protects the wearer from exposure to hard vacuum. Small panels within the arms and legs, which take data directly from the ship’s flight telemetry system, constrict and expand based on acceleration to avoid pilot blackout when pulling high-G maneuvers within atmospheres. The unique textile is produced under licence from Liquidity Textiles.
  • Gammaplast helmet - protects the pilot's head during sharp manoeuvres and craft landings. The helmet features an integrated heads up display which can be customised by pilots to individual preference. This allows cockpits to be them less cluttered by requiring fewer gauges and readouts.
  • Betaplast chest plate - protects the life support system, which keeps the pilot warm or cool depending on the operating environment. Power is drawn from the craft via a quick-release cable, with a small battery able to provide a few hours of independent power. Likewise, while breathable oxygen is generally supplied by the craft’s own oxygen scrubbers, a small oxygen tank provides a few hours of survivability while the pilot awaits rescue. An automated adrenal injection system helps maintain reflexes and situational awareness during extended combat.
  • Tomuon leather gloves and boots - a comfortable alternative to traditional plastoid garments which offer protection from heat and flames. Both boots and gloves have integrated magno-grip pads to support working in zero-G environments.
  • Nylonite webbing - keeps the pilot secured in their seat and allows for tools and equipment to be stored when not in use.

STRENGTHS
  • Airtight defence - sealed flight suit and integrated life support system allows the pilot to survive going extra-vehicular, either to carry out repairs or following ejection from a damaged craft.
  • Hazardous work environment - energy shield fabric protects from common causes of injury, including electric shocks and heat exposure. The flight suit also offers protection against inclement weather to support pilot survivability following a crash.
  • Hard landing - the study helmet and crash webbing protect the pilot from knock injuries during combat maneuvers.

WEAKNESSES
  • Blunt force trauma - While the helmet and chest piece protects the pilot from knocks and falling objects, the rest of the flight suit offers little protection against crush injuries or kinetic weapons such as slugthrowers.
  • Fear the blade - Lightsabers can make quick work of the unarmored flight suit, giving Force users an advantage in combat.

DESCRIPTION
The PU-96 "Imperius" Class flight suit, produced by Blackwell Industries, has long been the standard-issue flight suit of the Sith-Imperial Armada. Fielded under the ‘Sith-Imperial Armada Flight Suit Mk. I’ designation, it has seen combat through every major Sith Empire conflict and has become as symbolic of the Emperor’s might as the Legionnaire combat armor.

Seeking to stay ahead of their rivals, the Sith-Imperial Armada commissioned research and development to update their current flight suit. Experienced pilots from the Sith-Imperial Starfighter Corps spearheaded the research from their headquarters on Ord Cestus, subjecting each design iterations to hundreds of hours of testing during live-fire testing. The flight suits are built using the latest materials and are designed for full compatibility with all current Sith Empire strike and support craft.

The Mk. II flight suit is being rapidly shipped to Sith-Imperial Armada and Starfighter Corps pilots, with rollout focusing on combat personnel based within Oversector I, where the New Imperial Order is pushing toward the capital of Bastion. The upcoming defence of Dubrillion will be the first combat deployment of the new flight suit.

The older Mk. I flight suits will continue to be fielded by non-combat personnel until the transition is complete.
