The Sith-Imperial Trade Association is a trade organization whose purpose is to support and expand the business interests of the Sith Empire. Operating out of offices both within Sith-Imperial territory and on neutral worlds, SITA promotes the work of loyal Sith-Imperial businesses and seeks out new opportunities and markets to support their expansion.
Skilled trade ambassadors meet with the rulers of nearby worlds to sell the benefits of working with businesses loyal to the Sith Empire, while lobbyists bride or extort politicians to secure taxation relief for Sith-Imperial businesses. When these approaches fail, SITA thugs make their presence known and use more cohesive means to secure deals favors to Sith-Imperial businesses.
While difficult to quantify due to the underhanded methods they use and their lack of credible reporting, SITA claims responsibility for significant year-on-year growth of loyal Sith-Imperial businesses, driving employment and economic growth.
RATIONALE
In the aftermath of Operation: Eclipse and the fall of the Galactic Alliance, a large power vacuum was opened up in a large stretch of space spanning from the Core to the Outer Rim. Seizing upon this opportunity, the Sith Empire was quick to establish several holdfasts within the fallen territory to exert their influence on nearby systems.
The Sith-Imperial Banking Trade Associations were a group of trade organizations operating within different sections of the galaxy, all of them cavorting in highly illegal operations such as trafficking, racketeering, extortion, and slavery. They deliberately exploited the lack of law enforcement in the regions affected by the Galactic Alliance's dissolution, raiding weak systems for tribute and plunder while blockading more resilient worlds to starve them of resources. To enforce their demands, each Association utilized a militarized fleet of cruisers, frigates, and corvettes to harry and bleed systems dry of their wealth. Accompanying these fleets are armies of privatized soldiers and mercenaries called Trade Leagues which act as a standing army for the Associations.
During the height of the New Imperial Order's war against the Sith Empire, former Moff Aerarii Tithe reorganized SITA into a single entity, streamlining its operating and greatly reducing its overheads. SITA relocated its head office to Telos following the loss of Muunilist to the NIO.
