Sith No More

Incoming Transmission...

As the holo transmitter comes to life the image of a beautiful woman comes into focus. She pauses a few moments to adjust some controls on her end.

"Hello young Prince, please don't be alarmed. I'm contacting you in regards to a unique offer, one that I assure you I will make well worth your time. Embedded in this transmission are coordinates to a business station. I'll be waiting for you in the "Busty Bantha", it is located in sector 5, the red district. Look for the girl in the corner booth, dressed to impress."

As the image fades you see her seductively blow a kiss in your direction. As the coordinates come up you note the station is very close to you, no more than an hour away.

As you arrive at the station it takes you a while to land due to extensive traffic coming too and from this small moon of a station. The corridor to sector 5 starts out as a well lit and clean path but slowly degrades over time to something reminiscent of a back water ally. As you begin to question your decision you spot a large neon sign of a furry creature with an over-sized chest which marks you have arrived to your destination.

To your surprise the place is crowded with aliens of all types and ports of call. Looking around you spot the girl from the message dressed in tight black dress. Seeing you as well she smiles and with her eyes looks over to the open seat next to her.

Kahlil had been doing his damnedest to keep his name a secret. Being known as a Zambrano would only bring him issues in the life he was trying to live away from it all. So when someone called him and immediately addressed him as Prince, it wasn't something he could just ignore. Across the galaxy, alone, he went. The ex-Sith couldn't let who ever this person was go unanswered.

When he arrived he ignored the crowd. Nothing new to him after his months traveling the stars. Kahlil went right up to the woman, his eyes narrowed with mistrust. He takes the seat silently, his arms down by his sides. "So, what is it you want."

[member="Bryce Bantam"]

The mysterious woman said nothing at first, she only coyly sipped her drink while looking at him with amusement. Her reaction was one of calm and control, but at the edges the spacer would notice hints of surprise. Licking her lips she put down her drink and relaxed back into a more comfortable position pressing deeper into the plush bench.

"Why so angry your highness? Does me addressing you by your proper title offend you. If so then please accept my deepest apology. I'm here only as a messenger so please don't be mad at me."

She looking deeply into his eyes as she spoke, as if wanting to make sure she fully understand his response. If Kahili had not been around Zeltons before he would begin to notice her scent was intoxicating as her pheromones surrounded him, how they would affect his mood was still to be determined.

"You look like you could use a drink." she said before looking around. Soon she spotted her target and motioned to the bartender by holding up three fingers, before turning back to the her guest.

"So what will it be? Corellian Ale, maybe something a little stronger? My benefactor will pay for whatever you want so price is no issue."

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"The title comes with a target." Kahlil mumbled as he glanced around the room again. He had no idea the power Zeltrons held naturally, and slowly most of the troubles he had with how the woman spoke to him faded. Replaced by an unnerving desire? The pheromones did their work on the young man as he tried to shake his head clear of the cloud that had begun to form.

"I don't.. No. I don't drink." He shook his head to the offer. "Just tell me why I'm here."

"That is a very good question" A barmaid said as she placed a glass down next to Kahlil and began to full that glass with a unusual spirit.

"But an easy question to answer, a better question is can it be true?" A voice coming from Kahlil's left side replied.

A man in his mid thirties with skin as pink as the women walked past the table and sat down next to the mysterious woman, opposite Kahili. With a smile he took a coin from his pocket and placed it on the table. As the barmaid produced another glass and fulled it for Bryce, he took a moment to side up the young man who had come to visit them.

"So is it really true, given up your birthright for a spacers life kid?" Bryce asked.

A Kahlil pondered Bryce's question he would note all three wore a very unique ring, in fact as he looked around he would notice a few other patrons around the establishment wore the same one.

"No, I said I don't dri-" In his haze he was about to deny the barmaid, but found himself surprised by another voice. Kahlil turned his head to [member="Bryce Bantam"] , trying to blink away what ever was affecting him. His eyes narrowed as the man spoke. They really did know who he was. "A birthright of blood and death is worth nothing." He hissed out. The young man was definitely not trusting on what was going on, especially as he noticed the rings.

This really was a trap.

"So, I think I'll be leaving."

"Hey man, free verse so do what ya like. Still you came this far, you sure you wanna turn tail now?" Bryce responded.

He took a moment while the love drunk Zambrano pondered his words. Picking up and slamming back the glass of alcohol he let the strong spirit roll down his throat and into his stomach before he continued.

"I know what your thinking, this is a trap right? Whatever you got on is blocking your force signature is working but we reds are emphatic. Your heads swirling, but that is nothing new right?"

Bryce poured himself another glass and began to sip on it as the beauty to his right continued

"Look hun, if what you said about your family is true then you got soul. Or I should say still have a soul. It's a good thing, cause with out one we do bad things, and that's not good."

"Kahlil, not sure if you understand it or not you are among friends. Just like your kin has agents that spy for them, we are those that stay in the shadows to oppose folks that hurt others. We wanna help, or at lease try to help you. The path you have chosen is not easy, and with few friends we figure you could use a few more."

Bryce again paused, finished his second glass and placed it down on. Sliding his hand over to the coin still on the table he picked it up, and flicked it over to Kahlil hoping he would catch it.

"So tell me how many side does that coin have?"

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Trap would be an understatement." The young man commented under his breath, glancing to the Zeltron beside him. What [member="Bryce Bantam"] said already had his gears turning in the back of his mind. He knew nothing of the pink skinned humanoids, but it wasn't a far jump to assume they were drugging him or something similar. How was the question that burned the most.

"Friends I can understand needing. Especially once the whole of my family learns of my desertion. They don't take such insults with grace." Kahlil stood, taking a step to get away from what he could only assume was the source of his newfound infatuation, much as his body didn't want him to. "Though, drugging me isn't the best way to show good intentions." Whether he was right or wrong about the drugging he knew that when he first arrived here he had no such desires for the pink skinned woman that he did now, and that unsettled him greatly.

A flash of metal caught his attention as he was still staring at the woman, his hand snatching what ever it was out of the air. That surprised him the most of all of this, how much his reflexes had improved. Seemed the training was paying off. "Every coin has two, so I'm not sure if there's a trick to this. Just say what it is you want clearly. I'm tired of playing games."

Bryce looked up at Kahlil as he was leaving, a look of coy shock on his face.

"Now I would never drug a friend, get them poodoo faced drunk sure, but... kark, you're not used to Zeltron persuasion. Figured with all the love slaves your kin seems to keep you would have run into one or two." Bryce began.

"Our race has an effect on others, an aphrodisiac if you will. It is completely harmless and will fade as you leave." The mystery woman replied.

"As for the coin, it actually has three sides, heads, tails and sides. Not to many folks think of it and the reason is easy enough as those are the two best known."

Bryce takes another coin and holds it up to Kahlil, "Now you're familiar with one side, some call it the dark side, sith way, exc."

He laid the coin down on the table face up.

"It can comfortable, stable to be one sided, easy if you will."

Bryce then stood the coin up on it's side so both sides were showing.

"Now as we begin to learn about the force as a whole, not just one side of it we see the whole picture."

Bryce slammed his hand down next to the coin and it fell over.

"But staying balanced to see both sides it tough and we can easily be knocked off balance."

Taking the coin in his hand again he spun it on the table to it stayed on the end spinning, as it twirled around the table he slammed his hand down again next to the coin but it only jumped a bit as it kept spinning.

"Staying in true balance takes effort. One in time you will learn, just as you do don't get to comfortable on one side or another. As you learned, hate the Sith way is just power with a price tag. But the light can blind you also, making you aloof and detached from the truth. It is only when we see both sides can we find the truth that lies between."

Bryce finished his third glass before finishing his thought

"Keep the coin, if you wanna hear more, need work, of feth get in over your head look around any major station or city, for a bar like this, anyone wearing this ring. Tell them you need to speak to Mr Heartbeat, and they will know how to reach me. Till then i'll stay in touch, let you know when there is work someone of you talents might be good at."

Bryce seemed content to end there, let the man continue his journey of self discovery. If he stayed and wanted to talk Bryce would be all to happy to oblige, but the call would be Kahlil's to make.

Kahlil lightly rolled the coin over his knuckles. A third side huh? The young man wasn't sure if he was prepared to look at both sides. He had turned his back on the Dark because of the price it held, both to him and the people he cared about. Was he really able to see both sides and walk that line? He caught the coin in his hand after a small toss, shaking his head. No, he needed to find himself before he could try this.

"I appreciate it, really. I'm sure when I'm able to make this choice I will call you out, but for now. I can't. I have a lot I want to see without the lens of the Sith clouding it, for as long as I can."
