Sith Undercover

Hi, anyone still here lol?

So I had a crazy Idea, but I don't know if I/we could/should pull it of.

The mandos are still really troubled and everything, so they are comparable weak. We could infiltrate the mandos, under fake names and identities (That helmet and armor thing is really neat), and takeover a clan, or at least earn the loyalty of some mandos and start one.

Ta-Da private mando army.

Thoughts/Ideas/memes?

Sounds awesome. Still, I have enough going on with Lykos, so.... I volunteer [member="Ryiah Tenriem"] as tribute. If this goes ahead, my Sith Alt can take the fall.

In all seriousness, though, I do think that you are onto something that could be fun to do, but, it would require quite a lot of planning, I think, to have it work out that we would be able to takeover a Clan. Starting one, on the other hand, would be more easily accomplished, but none the less difficult. So, yeah, if this is something that a few people want to do, we will really have to work towards it to make it happen.

[member="Darth Lykos"] Yeah we need planning and maybe even additional people. If we just start out with a small group of fake mandos, all pretending to be family or whatever, it will be way more believable. I am going to litter this with random ideas every time I have one.

Oh also: [member="Eshtaol"], [member="Krest"], maybe [member="Darth Ophidia"]

[member="Darth Lykos"] [member="Krest"] Okay Crazy Idea Time: Lykos is pretty good at creating stuff, so do you think he could pull of a fake mandalorian artifact that we could use as a claim of power? If we shoot high it could be the most famed mando mask, but I guess we should do something a few notches below. Alternativly we could actually search for one or steal one from somewhere. The mandos IC love their history and culture, so if we present us as a small family/group of mandos that still stands strong and has something that refers to their history, they could follow us.

Throwing [member="Avedia Lacroix"] a tag, because I just saw that you are with us now. Also hi [member="Onley Xiangu"]

[member="Darth Abyss"]

So an artifact for our 'family' that was used by their ancestor at some point? He was trained in smithing and forging as a youg Zabrak, so, yeah, Xavka could do that pretty easily I think. Though it probably wouldn't be imbued with anything too special lest you want the story of this artifact to have that it was wrest from a Sith or something. I'll follow your lead on this.

I once infiltrated the Mandalorians on another website and was undercover there for about two years, so I have been involved in projects like this before. I've learned that proclamation of power will likely get us ousted and that people will likely not want to RP with us ic or ooc. Starting off a new clan is fine, but we would need to start from the bottom, winning the prestige and honour of our fellow vode before we could continue.

I know a lot about the Mandalorians ooc, like I said I've roleplayed as a Sith Lord pretending to be a Mandalorian before, and almost became Mand'alor but I am not going to metagame my character having the knowledge to essentially pull off being a Mandalorian ic unless we developed it, which I am all game to do.

We would have to put a lot of work and effort into building a Mandalorian clan first, or trying to join an already established one.

[member="Darth Lykos"] At first I thought the same, but we could use some alchemy. Nothing inside the artifact, but used in it in the forging to make it A. Look old as hell, even when tested in a lab, and B. maybe even infused with fake glimpses of the past, should someone be able to use psychometry on it. This way we can insure that there will be now way for them to see through it IC. We also should forge armor for anyone, individual one I mean. Makes the mando thing a whole lot more believable

[member="Avedia Lacroix"] If feel like OOC could be far more of a problem than IC. Even if we give the best show they have ever seen, there will still be many that will complain about the whole thing. I guess it would be wise to talk it through with the mando faction admins once we worked a full plan out. As for IC I definitely agree that we need to develop it, by crafting solid fake identities and learning the mando way of live. Abyss himself has pretty good knowledge about them IC, enough for us to don't start at square one when creating these identities, but not enough to appear full mando already.

Just had an odd idea and thought that I may as well put it forth. Wouldn't we need an IC reason as to why our Clan hasn't been known to the other Mandalorians before? Since, after all, if we go along the path of use forming a Clan, it would begin with us. Well, do you think it would work if the explanation was that the Clan did end up standing in the Unknown Region of space prior to 835 ABY? With the Clan being cut off from the galaxy proper, it would explain the Clan's absence in their history, since it would be plausible that documentation of the Clan could have been lost/forgotten. Like I said, just an odd and random idea I had and thought that I might as well share.

Anyway, Abyss, if you have anything specific in mind for this artifact, let me know. (As in, what item it should be, for example.)

[member="Darth Lykos"] that's a very good idea. A solid background story is maybe even more important than fake identities.

As for the item, I am still thinking, as I am unsure how high we should aim with it. Something to random and normal will probably not impress anyone, but something to valuable will raise questions.

Might I suggest a slight edit to my above suggestion on how this could be done? Prior to 835 ABY etc, etc, etc. (See above post.) But, maybe instead of having this Fake Clan somehow thrive on this backwater, hidden planet, it could have died, been lost to nothing more than myths, legends about ancestors, you know. And, when this planet gained contact with the galaxy proper, our characters' personas learnt that the legends weren't so much legends by accounts and seek to bring honour to their ancestors by serving as they would have.

This could excuse out characters' personas not being fully buddy buddy (the Clan would have scattered into different family lines after all), a lack of every intricacy of Mando Culture. But, I would recommend going ahead with the relic idea, you know, as IC 'proof' that our group would be descendants of a Mandalorian Clan at some point.

As for the relic itself: maybe a Mask/Helmet? Mask of an enemy slain or the Helmet of one of the members of this Clan. (I think that the later might serve better as proof of heritage IC, but the Mask could also be played well. I'll follow your lead on this.)

In Mandalorian culture, warriors would come together and form new Clans based out of their mutual kindship and respect. None of us would have to be blood related in order to fall under a specific Clan name. New clans were formed all the time in canon, particularly during the Mandalorian Wars.

[member="Avedia Lacroix"] Yes, but everyone and their mom could say they are a new clan, it does nothing to prove our fake loyalty. At least that was my thinking.

Yet as [member="Krest"] pointed out we could just go undercover, pretend to be some no name mando dudes and slowly work for our respect etc. and then form a clan.

Or we go the other route, and let [member="Darth Lykos"] create a nice item that makes us believable as an old clan, in which case we would probably get away with a few more things at least in the start.

But honestly we should make that decision all together, so please state which way you all would prefer to proceed in this. A yeah for democracy.

Also @Eshtaol.

Also [member="Korogum"] [member="Kaira Ignis"] [member="Etheriud Yvvera"] (Just saw you three recently joined the faction, so first: Welcome. And secondly: You are invited to take part in this disscusion and the following project if you want to.)
