Sithsicles on Ice

Galactic Location: kelsier
System Location: Orbiting above Kelsier V
Physical Location: Viewing deck of a Shadow-class Reconaissance Corvette

T'zanith stood and looked out the transparisteel window towards Kelsier V. A part of him wishing for true physical eyes to be able to see the frozen world bellow the ship he had taken as his own for now. Along with [member="Animus Malgus"], T'zanith had left Coruscant's sith temple to head out into the very edge of the galaxy and far to close to Laventine sanctum territory, for T'zanith's taste.
Looking back towards Animus behind him, having asked him to spar with him so he could try out the style he was in the midst of constructing from djem so, Shien, Shii-cho and juyo with elements of trákta's thought process of using the lightsabers ability to be turned on and off at will. "We have arrived Animus, glad I ordered the quartermaster of the ship to pack enough gear and cold-weather gear to use when planet side." He said in a calm tone as he moved to put his robes on again and hooking his saber hilt on his belt. "Now please be aware Animus we are not in sith territory any longer so we should stay bellow the radar while we are on the planet as it would be in our best interest." He then said as he combed his long white hair back whit a hand and then pulled his hood up over his head as he then waited for his fellow acolyte to get ready as well so they could go to the hangar and get the gear and supplies needed to survive on the frigid, frozen tundras of Kelsier V.

"Agreed" Anims said in a neutral tone, preparing himself and reading in his gear, Not one to waste time he also packed extra tools and weaponry they might need, Animus always had carried his Blue Lightsaber but this time with permission of the sith Armory, he was packing a second red standard lightsaber.

His black cloak and mouth cloth strapped on he finalized adjusting his blaster, Neutral Temperature Canteen, Boot knife and Two Thermal Detonators. Under his cloak the Sith Assassin Armor was donned , being a member of the order had brought him a great deal of pride. Animus looked about the ship, he scanned and judged mentally the crew and ship, making mental notes, then looking at the Planet before them... a harsh world no doubt.

"Quick smash and grab, and we get out of here as soon as we possibly can, what is the briefing?" Animus was cross armed and wide stance as he asked, he was no longer the foolish Acolyte He was in Korriban, He was now a trained killer, with more than a few Skirmishes and Battles under his belt, and more than one near death experience since then. This time if his Friend asked him how many abilities he possessed, he would be able to answer with confidence.

T'zanith moved with Animus to the hangar were a squad of troopers as well as some workers to mine for them. "All right this mission is a stealth and grab, we are on a stealth ship and this should give us the time we need to come in and mine the stygium on the planet bellow." T'zanith said before he was handed a cold weather outfit and began to get dressed while the ship itself made it's approach to a large vein of Stygium on the planet bellow. Once he was dressed he raised his hand forwards towards the troopers and workers. "Once on the ground get to work immediately, workers begin mining and troopers form a perimeter." T'zanith then commanded and all present stood at attention, all ready to do as commanded.
"Animus, the two of us will have two tasks, first is to act as overseers of the project and second as commanders should we be attacked." T'zanith then said as he pulled a thick scarf over his lower face while closing a heavy hood which covered the rest of his head. A few moments later the corvette they were on landed, a slight shock shook the ship as it fully landed on the drop site and the hangar doors then opened. A sharp increase and flood of cold wind filled the hangar then T'zanith gestured towards the open doors and the troopers marched out and began to form a perimiter while the workers got straight to work to set up the mining equipment as well as put up walls to protect the work site from the harsh winds blowing on Kelsier V.

Animus was well prepared for this encounter, more than one weapon adorned him, and he felt more than confident with his Knight friend beside him "Attack us? Poor things" Animus said with a laugh as he walked beside T'zanith. He was his teacher of Force sight, and now thanks to him, he knew a bit about Djem-so Shi-cho and Shien due to the on way practice.

"You heard him grunts, get moving we got work to do. " Animus raced with his troops to the outside of the ship as a tidal wave of workers and soldiers streamed out into the surface of the frigid, merciless planet.

Keisler V was not a welcoming place, Winds and harsh temperatures was the Law of the day, but our target was less than a few miles away. Animus however was not shaken by its brutality and inhospitable atmosphere, the sight of this place, made him feel quite small. Quickly the Workers and soldiers dashed to the Zone, Soldiers began making a perimeter under Animus, while workers dashed inside the Mines. What he would fin in this planet was a necessity for him, his project needs the precious crystal...

T'zanith chose a good vantage point as he stood watch over the mines entrance. He was glad for the small walls erected around the entrance to fend against the harsh winds of Keisler V. "Animus, I've been meaning to ask what is the reason you required these crystals anyway?" T'zanith asked, his voice empowered a little with the force to carry through his makeshift face mask, his head turned towards Animus to show him he was talking and looking at him.
He then moved his head to the side as a hoard of Ice bats erupted from the mine shaft and flew out into the harsh tundra of the planet. "Watch out..." T'zanith then said obviously too late to warn Animus but it was followed by a small chuckle, under his scarf he smirked a little. Out in the storm that whipped and lashed at everything it came in contact with as it's icy claws tried to dig and rend through everything that wasn't born on Keisler V. With his sight reduced and the energy instead fueled his senses as he expanded them out ward, little would get the drop on him as he held his hands around his body to try and preserve as much of his bodies heat as he could. 'Karking ice planets always so frething cold.... what am I thinking? It's in the damn classifications name!' He thought as he looked around and saw a few of the workers come out with a large pile of stygium crystals and placed them into one of the several crates lined up against the mine shaft's entrance.
"I hope there won't be any wampas out here." He half mumlbed out loud as his caressing of his own body tightened to preserve as much of his body heat as he could.

Animus reached out his hand in one motion catching an Icebat and with the other smacked so hard it stopped flopping, kneeling down he put it into a bag. "Lunch, I haven't had Ice Bat Before" In a sense Animus thought this Place compensated for its Inhospitality by it's beautiful scenery, when it could be seen of course.

The Planet was constantly in a storm, a massive storm, the likes of which Animus had never seen or heard of before in his life, however every few minutes you could get a glance of the plain of white coating and the stars that surrounded it. Animus smiled inside his cloak seeing that some Stygium was already being manned inside the ship. That alone was enough for him, he really did not need anymore, Only 1 ship of his needed that Quality, but then again.... The more the Merrier...

"My friend, When it is ready, You shall see it yourself, until then, i will spoil nothing" Animus said with a hearty laugh that not even the howl of the wind and the power of the storm could drown out. "In the mean time, i would advise we turn on our ear coms and split up, You take protection of the Miners inside, and i will take up point with the soldiers out here, just in case any Wampa appears in the cave " Animus quickly force jumped over a small gap that a fall would mean his death, and began to climb his way up to the mountain side. Animus was not taking this world lightly, was on in like a warrior, not to be defeated, not to let the Cold beat him, or the winds, or anything else that it could possibly have. Animus activated wrist com. "Soldiers, i want full recon of the Area, nothing moves in the snow without or eyes on it"

T'zanith simply nodded and then headed into the Mine shaft after he had watched him jump and begin climbing up the mountain side. "Still brash and impatient but not as stupid as before at least." T'zanith mumbled to himself with a smile under his scarf and then headed into the less colder mine shaft. A few of the workers had set up a heater system and others had even put up a small audio device that was sending out a little music for them to listen to as they hammered away with picks and machines, which ever was more efficient and easier to use.
T'zanith moved to sit and meditate on a rock that served as a good point to look at the workers work, all the while he extended his senses as much as he could. 'A day not spent learning or improving is a wasted day.' He thought musing over the only worthwhile tidbit his father drilled into him during his childhood. A few miners left with their arms full of stygium crystal and then returned after dropping them off. T'zanith would need quite a bit as his plan was to make a frigate that could pass through a system unnoticed which he could use as his little home away from home.... until he made himself a home that was.
Sitting there in meditation he could hear one of the workers approach him, holding a pick in his hand firmly. "My lord how much do you want us to mine anyway?" The miner asked only to be told that at least all the empty crates outside the mine shaft as well as those inside the Corvette's hangar would be needed for both acolytes to achieve their goals with the alloy.

Location: Climbing the Side of a Mountain
Objective: Obtain Vantage Point
Allies: @T'zanith Zebron
Enemies: The Planet

Animus was climbing the side of the cliff since the last moment they spoke, it must have been hours he was climbing. He rose to get the highest vantage point possible at a perch on the mountain. His climb was slow, and deliberate, careful not to let any rubble as he ascended the climb upon the massive mountain side. His climbing equipment was nothing special; standard ice Picks made of Beskar or some very powerful iron Animus did not know, but it's ability to get him to this point made him not even question its quality. Animus saw a clearing up top, about 60 or 70 feet, The winds were blowing in a menacing way, and his strength to hold on to the mountainside was tested.

Animus continued his climb to the perch for a long while, every step a task of a warrior, as the ice crumbled at times forcing him to hold his grip, or face certain death, at the massive fall. After toiling in the climb for what seemed like eternity, he reached the perch and grabbed a hold of it's ledge. Using force augmentation he climbed to the Icy and rocky surface where he found a great reward for his effort.

The view, was fantastic, he could see the entire plains from his vantage point, and the rocky outcropping of the ledge provided a breaker of the wind giving animus much needed relief. The Perch was a ground of Ice and crystal, ore sticking out inside what seemed like a small cave in, then he saw it...

Like Broken Pearls stuck on the bottom floor of where he was standing, broken pieces of star, one particularly big one. Pure Stygium. Three broken pieces, One Large one, and two smaller ones that looked like dripping Tears. Shining in their white splendor, Animus took them one by one and placed them inside a small white fur pouch, then tied a knot on it safely.

"Papa Specter, this is Crow two, we have flock formation, and no other birds in the canopy"
"This is Papa specter, Copy that and keep the watch"

Animus quickly produced his scouting equipment and started setting up his base. Animus propped open a Holographic datapad that was linked by his men to cover the area for incoming aerial transmissions, which also gave him holographic feed of the perimeter. Producing also his Monocular that T'zanith had seen in Korriban he began to take notes of the place, and to scout the area.

Leaning against the ice, T'zanith extended his senses outwards. He suddenly felt life around him and as he looked to the side he saw the source of that life, small worms that burrowed through the ice to eat the frozen algae inside it. T'zanith always found it fascinating how life could exits in the most hostile of territories. <<Life is mysterious>> T'zanith said in the ancient sith tongue before he stood up and walked towards the heater in the middle, putting his hands forwards as he then rubbed them together and then rubbed them at his shoulders.
The heat was welcomed as he then looked towards one of the largest worker groups as they suddenly broke through into a cavern on the other side. T'zanith ordered the workers out of the way as he entered the cavern and looked around inside it. A few growls suddenly came from the opposite direction that T'zanith was looking towards, with a quick turn of his head to see the two Ice cat's moving towards him. With a flick of his wrist he created an adult Tuk'ata made of fire in front of him as he then gestured his hand forwards as the Tuk'ata pounced on one of the Ice cat's which was engulfed in the fire and as it screeched out in pain and panic.
The other ice cat was disheartened as it watched the other wail and try to put out the flames by rolling against the icy ground. It was enough for T'zanith to turn on and throw his saber forwards and sliced both ice cats's necks, killing them near instantly. Grabbing the saber as it moved back to him, he turned it off as he fluently and elegantly placed it back on his belt.
"Ask for four troopers from the perimeter to guard those that move into this chamber, I won't have other ice cats get though me." T'zanith then said as he pointed to a worker just coming back from dropping off a load of stygium, the man nodded and headed back up. T'zanith then looked out into the large cave, there was something here but he wouldn't dare to find out what it was alone and not with the little supplies of stygium they had all ready gathered. Doing the math in his head, T'zanith knew that they were only reaching around half the amount the acolytes needed from the planet.

Animus spent a few hours in the perch, scouting and making mental notes of his surroundings. Animus relaxed in his position opening his military rations pack and eating bantha jerky as his eye rarely left the Monocular. The range of his monocular was a standard of 400 yards, but Animus could make out up until 600 if he could get a clear line of sight. The winds beat upon his position as he refused to light a Death stick, the smoke would easily identify his position something he did not want. The Massive mountain was a Titan in itself, a feat that when Animus looked down upon, he felt quite accomplished indeed.

Suddenly he noticed some of his men were leaving their posts and preparing a perimeter outside the mining area. Animus got on his wrist com locking eyes on the entrance a thousand feet below through his Monocular. "This is Papa Specter what is the Situation" Animus said breaking radio silence for the first time it what would seem like Hours, his com station set for T'zanith.

A loud and powerful wind started blowing on Animus, so powerful and so strong the wall of Ice next to him could do little to drown out it's incessant hum and moan. The strength of the wind blew at Animus Hair inside of his Fur getup, the chill of it getting to his Core, and slowly bringing his Temperature up. This was Training on it's own, still exhausted from the climb somewhat, now the very cold of the planet was wearing at his limbs and torso. Animus Stoically shrugged it off and continued on his work, determination on his eyes, and his lips split by the cold.

"This is blind shade, there is a large cavern that the workers mined into and I needed four troopers as guards down here, I met with a pair of Ice cats inside the cavern. Don't worry I took care of it but this planet has more life than at first might appear." T'zanith replied into the com on his wrist to tell Animus of the situation before he looked at the two troopers who first arrived down the mine shaft and headed into the cavern. T'zanith moved a little deeper into the Cavern and saw that it was a near sepulchral cave that connected to several other chambers.
He decided to try something in the middle of the cavern as he sat down in a meditative stance, he only extended his senses to fill the chamber but his sight was off. Instead he focused the force into his body to keep his body heat stable and even raise it a little. It was the practice of an ability called Tapas, an ability T'zanith had stumbled upon while in the Sith archives but had only lightly skimmed it as he didn't think he'd ever use it, irony was a bit funny that way. He felt he could use it a little to at least keep his body heat stable but he'd need instruction to fully learn it to any better degree.
A smile grew along his lips as he heard a worker approach him. "My lord we have reached the 70% capacity mark set by your objectives." The worker said as he saluted T'zanith. "Good keep up the work and bring the last crates into the mine to speed up the dropping off of the stygium." T'zanith said as he stood up and gestured for the worker to continue his work as the acolyte hummed a little to himself. Everything was going according his plans.

Animus upon hearing the situation quickly got on his com and relayed a small order "Just keep me posted on the situation all right?" Animus shook his head, convinced that it was impossible for them to go a single mission without something happening. It seemed that wherever Animus and his friend would go, Hell and everything the Galaxy had to offer in terms of Swift brutal death's followed.

Animus however, did not plan on coming down from the Perch for now, the sight was beautiful and the winds died down just a bit enough for Animus recalculate the parameters of the place. "You think Ice Cat will taste as Good as Tuka'ta meat?" Animus said with a smile through his com as he scouted the area, the place was desolate, this planet was barren from life in their parameter, the very winds and storms, the temperature and Hostile landscape not from Life, but from Nature itself was daunting... yet beautiful.

Crystalline drops could be seen floating through the winds like small comets and stars, like a rain of stars and tear drops of crystal. Animus was satisfied with his small treasure of Pure Stygium, he had already concocted a plan, the Large chunk would be for the Lightsaber he planned on making and the two smaller pieces were going to be for jewelry, perhaps alchemized, who knows?

Animus shrugged as he kept his watch, all 400 yards being surveyed, and the holo feed of the datapad reported no Anomalies or intrusions, work was almost done, and he began to prepare his descent with his rappelling lines.

"I'm not sure but I can ask the ships cook to try and prepare them for us." T'zanith replied into the com with a chuckle as he looked over the Ice cat corpses, one still smoking. Then something caught his eye, buried a little inside the ice was a figure. An explorer perhaps? T'zanith thought as he moved to the ice wall were the figure was encased in ice. Looking it over he spotted something in the corpses belt, a lightsaber?
Placing his hand on the ice, he heated the wall with fire shaping until he was through. The Lightsaber was beyond repair and was mostly only useful as a paperweight but that wasn't what had caught T'zanith's eyes, it was what was inside the saber. Two Phond crystals within the blade's hilt.
With a smile T'zanith placed them into a pouch on his belt and then looked towards the worker coming up behind him. "My lord we have filled the crates as you requested, everything is according to the objectives and we are done with this mining operation." The worker said with a respectful salute. "Excellent, load it all up and get ready for take off, after dropping Animus off, were he wishes to go we shall then head to Rendili for the phrick I am in need of." T'zanith then said as he began to walk out of the mine shaft, ordering the two troopers that had come into the cavern to act as rear guard for the workers.
"Animus, We have what we came for, as well as a little bonus for the both of us. The workers are finishing up so I suggest you get back to the ship." T'zanith said into the com as he was about to emerge from the mine shaft.

"Roger Roger" He said imitating a droid as best he could as he was already rappelling down from the place, Animus thought of the faces of everyone who heard the mission time humor, it was what he excelled at. His descent was of course quicker than his climb up to the insane perch and as he was coming down he saw the most peculiar thing, a strange transparent flower. Tilting his head at it he observed it strangely, he did not think life could grow in such a place, especially at such altitudes yet here it was, a Transparent flower whose petals if looked at made a strange rainbow like gleam. He picked it and placed it inside his coat carefully before continuing his descent. He was not sure, but he did not think this plant had been discovered by anyone, upon researching the Keisler system, no plant life of any sort seemed to appear as recorded to live here, perhaps he was looking at the wrong data.

Animus reached the bottom of the mountain after a rappelling descent of 15 minutes, and hiking down another 25, his way back to the position that his friend was in was not troubled, not mistakes, Animus walked carefully and precisely. Upon not too much walking and two or three force jumps through Gaps, Animus arrived at the outside of the mining excavation and a few yards from the ship. Happy to see that work was almost done. "All soldiers report back to rendezvous, mission complete."

T'zanith had sat on the open hangars edge watching the two crystals lazily orbit around one another in front of his face as he waited for the last of the equipment arrive inside the ship. Upon seeing his friend return he reached out with his hand and took both crystals into his hand and then smiled as he pulled down his scarf. "Welcome back, how was the view?" He asked jokingly and handed Animus one of the crystals he had found. "Use this one in your real saber, it will make the saber burn all the more fiercely." T'zanith said not letting his friend reply before he moved into the ship and the hangar doors closed behind them and the ship took off into the cold air of Keisler V.
Three distinct patterns of paws landing on the metal floors could be heard and suddenly a single worker, a thirteen or fourteen year old by the look of him, came running down one hall way with three Tuk'ata pups after him. Well to T'zanith they were pups but they had already reached their adolescent states. T'zanith lead Animus back to the viewing deck they had stood in when the ship had approached the planet they were now leaving and with the stars turning into streaks behind him, T'zanith smirked as he turned his lightsaber on. "So how about another sparring match to get the cold out of our bodies?"

Animus was glad to step into the ship but upon his friend giving him a strange stone his eyes were met upon it's curiosity rather quick, he thought of telling him about what he had found up in the cliff but Erebus did not let him speak heading inside the ship with haste and fury. Animus nodded feeling inside his pouch producing the flower he had found and calling over to a worker.
"Yes Master Malgus" The worker said to him, quite a young man, fire and passion in his step and voice, an approving nod from Animus rewarded him for that.
"Get this, to a crystalline case,This Flower, now begins a quest you may or may not take young man" Animus said removing his cloak and mouth cloth. It felt good to be back inside a semi warm place, the cold still stuck to his flesh like an Undead ghoul. His stance to the young man was that of a drill instructor expecting to be surprised, arms crossed and head cocked back.

With fire in his eyes he continued to speak to the Young Worker. "It is to remain alive, the container must be filled with Snow and Crystals, as well as some earth and stone. Succeed, and i will make you my personal Assistant, fail, and your fate will be the same as that which you hold in your hand, Do you accept my Task?"

The young man's eyes never left Animus except to eye the flower now in his hands, to Animus' surprise however, his Answer was instant and with no doubt.
"Yes Master Malgus, I shall not fail you" The young man turned and bolted off in the direction of a near work station. The words accompanied by the swift action gave Animus a Smile, If the flower died before Animus could bring it to it's intended destination the boy would die, But should the task be a success, the young man would find himself in a good position to become a successful and wealthy person indeed.

Animus turned to his friend now flexing his muscles as he watched the Tuka'ta pup do his rounds. Animus laughed in approval, His Tuka'ta was constantly guarding his Office, Gromkor was his name, a Kaleesh word meaning Gasher.

"The view was wonderful my friend, the very sky was engulfed in a crystal rain" He ignited his lightsaber as he prepared his stance, "Shi-cho, i am in need of it, do you mind giving me the basics?" Animus laughed he took the Shi-cho position, not a moment was ever wasted with Erebos, every moment, a new skill learned.
