"A town is saved, not more by the righteous men in it, than by the woods and swamps that surround it"
- Henry David Thoreau -

  • Population: High
  • Demographics: It's inhabited by all members of the Nardathi Nightsister Witch Clan; 95% human - 5% other

  • Stability: The stability is extremely high. Rarely outsiders are welcomed or allowed into the village, less there is ample reason to such as trading.
  • Freedom & Oppression: The village is ruled by the Clan's Night Mother and the feeling is of relaxation, as every Sister knows their role. There is no oppression, only bouts of freedom, though the laws are viewed as strict to outside eyes but to those in the Clan and living in the villages it's fair and just laws. The commerce is low mainly because they rarely trade with outsiders, thus most of their trading is amongst themselves, a commune bartering system.
  • Description: Siuracha Laochra is located in the center of M'un'rior Bog, surrounded by the harsh climate and conditions of a Dathomir bog. Compared to most villages in the known galaxy, Siuracha Laochra looks desolate and destitute; but only to the naked eye's first glance.

SECURITY

High

The security in and around the city is high. Outside the city, the bog and the creatures that inhabit it provide a natural state of defense for the city, and the bog is rigged with traps, snares, and other nasty measures to prevent outsiders from casually strolling in uninvited. There are twenty-four manned 'guard posts throughout the bog, acting both as a first line of defense and warning system for the city. Inside the city, there are manned guard towers, manned twenty-four hours, that watch over the city. Even though the Nardithi Sisters go about their daily business unmolested, there are roaming patrols throughout the city, and of course each Sister is a warrior or witch or a combination of the two; the entire city in fact can be said to be guarded by an army of Nightsisters. The laws in place are enforced by the patrolling parties, like security officers.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Siuracha Laochra is actually a collection of three individual villages that eventually connected to one another to from the city itself, though the original names of the founding villages have been lost throughout the ages. The forming of the three villages began under two philosophies; to easily protect and defend one another and to make trading amongst the village and villagers easier and more obtainable. Situated in the middle of M'un'rior Bog, the city is essentially free of the sphere of outside influence that is known to plague other villages of Nightsister Clans, and as such, the Nardithi Nightsisters are viewed as hermits and with skepticism by the other Clans. Over the course of the centuries, the city began to reform, and additions were created around the trio of villages to encourage survival and growth.

The huts, naturally one of the original constructs of the earlier villages, were slowly torn down in favor of a design more suited for bog living. Natural materials found in the bog like mud, peat, and others were used to create more sturdier huts, and more protection against the elements. The tombs and burial grounds, which are non-traditional to the burial pods of other Clans, remained untouched during the forming of the tri-village city. The Temple of the Fanged God also went untouched from its original erection at the founding of the first village, but over the years the structure had been reinforced and repaired to maintain its appearance to appease the winged God.

The training grounds for training the Sisters in combat stayed mostly in original form, with only a few adjustments as the need for different styles of fighting became apparent after dealings with visitors and other Clans. What was added over time where the magic grounds and the animal training grounds. The magic training grounds, as the name suggests, is where Nightsisters seeking to unravel the mysteries of Dathomir magic could learn to harness the magic and spirit ichor to cast spells and incantations. Every Sister was encouraged to learn and master either physical combat or magical prowess, or a combination of the two, for the betterment of the tri-village in defense and survival. The animal training grounds were utilized to breed and train former wild beasts for differing reasons such as mounts, spies, and warbeasts, those that trained and bred the beasts also became a third facet along with the physical and magical divisions within the tri-village. The Nardithi Nightsisters managed to solidify among their rank's beasts such as
rancors, ravens, saurian fliers, and bane back spiders.

Wells were built early on and the addition of aqueducts later allowed for a constant water source among the city, and through trading with representatives from a corporation, a water filtration system was introduced. The newly addition of this water treatment system allowed for cleaner water in a quicker fashion than the old ways of boiling out impurifications and other filtering treatments they previously used. Trading posts began to crop up around the city, where the Sisters could trade goods amongst themselves. Most of the goods traded where of homemade creations, items found from scavenging parties, items taking in battle, or items found during hunting parties. There was no real monetary system of trade, and even when visitors were allowed into trade, the trading of item for item still was the dominate way of bartering. A building was eventually created years after the founding of the city that housed tomes, Nightsister and Dathomir spellbooks, and knowledge pertaining to dealings with outsiders, other Clans, and various Orders, like Jedi and Sith, and governments and corporations they had previous dealings with. A lore keeper was assigned to the archive building whose job was to constantly update the records and to protect the resources.

From the onset of the first village to present day, the presence of farms had existed. Mainly it was to reap, sow, and harvest crops whilst the main meat source came from hunting parties. The farms now still grow the various crops, tending by another facet of the city; some would call the agricultural division, but that title has no real meaning for the Clan. Animal pens didn't take long to make a presence in the city. Farm based animals that provided liquid Nutrional values were housed here, whilst certain animals were bred for meat, though not all animals they ate could be kept in pens, hunting parties were still required to bring back the rare and exotic meats. Eventually, a slaughterhouse was erected making it more efficient to kill the animals and feed the villagers.
