Combat Function: Defensive only, trained in a martial style that favors edged weapons and withdrawing from harms way, keeping herself moving or the opponent unable to execute an effective attack. It would be highly unusual to not find with at least four well trained guards in private, if not a lot more when out in public. She will always flee if possible.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Descended from the original Hapan bloodlines. Asmara Rael comes from a long established lineage on Vena, her family having held power for much of the time since the first Hapan explorers set foot there an age ago. Raised from a young age to be the Grand Duchess, she is the single most powerful figure in Vena's politics today. Trained in the arts of not only courtly etiquette and intrigue but also trained in clandestine operations by her more paranoid father. Things such as lip reading, covering her motives, and surveillance gives her advantage over her peers. She has a strong family that support her financially and politically, giving her word a lot of weight when it comes ti decisions within the intricate Venan Oligarchy.

Asmara is attempting to reform the Oligarchy into a monarchy with herself as the head. Reform is difficult and many oppose it, not least of which because the shared power between the noble houses has long held peace. There are several powers from rival houses to corporate influences that want to retain some stake in Vena's political structure, and so she has devised a plan to include them all equally while bettering herself.

Recently however complications have arisen and the entire political structure on Vena is on the brink of collapse. Despite her careful maneuvering it may be too late to avert civil war.

Rael's exploratory force have been ordered home. An honorary name for the personal armada and Brigade of Venan's that hold to the old traditions of exploring and securing the frontier, as their forefathers did. Exploring is seen as a noble way to spend your past time, and although the sexes are much more equal than they are on Hapes, slight gender bias does take root in some more conservative quarters. Hence the exploratory force is largely commanded by female officers, though this isn't true of the wider Venan armed forces. Most officers in the force are traditionalist by nature and support isolationism.

Appearance: Statuesque with a firm figure and posture. Her expression is often rigid and uncompromising. Having black hair with the smallest amount dyed blonde at the front. Never out of makeup and rarely in anything but a uniform. She looks good on duty, but with the amount she frowns or tenses up her face, the beginning of these tension marks can be seen across her skin.

Combat Function: Taking Cover. Using her Rifle. Planning from Afar if possible. Likely to flee from a battle but not a war. Kayla would likely be found at the command and control center of any strategic campaign that she was involved in, or on the bridge of her flagship.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Descended from the original Hapan bloodlines. Kayla Rael also comes from a long established lineage on Vena, her family having held power for much of the time since the first Hapan explorers set foot there an age ago. Raised from a young age to be the Admiral of Vena's Exploratory force, she is Venan navy through and through. Her people love her and they follow her orders, they have always done since she was a teenager.

Inheriting the isolationist traits of her mother, she was always jaded that she was not considered first in line for leading house Rael. Her politics may seem simple, Vena first, but the complications of her sister Asmara bringing outsiders to better sustain the Venan economy has put her own corporations under threat as well. A split has formed within her own house, and with the civil war with a rival house looming as well, this has left House Rael in danger both from within and without.

If mediation does not come soon Vena could plunge into chaos. She does not know where her loyalties lie in her sister's schemes, but she does know that she will not let Venan suffer in a pointless war.

Appearance: Stern, angular features, having that same Hapan-like attractiveness that many of his species embody. Tall at 6ft 4 like many of his race, he is physically gifted, in good shape. There is however a slight gait to his walk from an older mining injury. That and his natural need to stay reclusive give him a posture inclined to pull back from a conversation.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Born on Naboo, Vikerion Numere has been raised in a refined environment most of his life. He loves art, wine and women. That said he's been expected to run the family business efficiently all his life as well. He was educated to a high level before being put into work full time, but has always had corporate interests on his mind. Being a businessman is a core part of his identity, wanting to expand a drive, and wanting to secure his own interests paramount.

Hellvas Corporation are one of the major players in trying to open up Vena to the outside galaxy more. Though they have franchised several successful corporations on the planet, they are being met with the new isolationist political climate threatening to emerge, and wish to instead combat this with their own aggressive push to gain a greater role in Vena's political structure, securing their own future.

Being a half Venan and a half human male, there is an underlying bias against the baron from more traditionalist groups on the planet that are threatening to spring up. It is known that House Hellvas have a great deal of wealth behind them and perhaps they are using it to change the balance of political power to their favor.

Combat Function: Confusing an opponent with Illusions while striking carefully with her lightsaber and not over exposing herself, before retreating into the shadows or fighting on if necessary.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Servant to the court is deceptive. The young speaker Miral Alvonnet is filling her recently deceased Mother's shoes. She is supposedly neutral in the political structure, representing the court and especially the lesser nobles who don't have a voice directly in the Oligarchy directly. A fragile and difficult task for the young, inexperienced representative. When Miral speaks, much of the planet is speaking with her, or at least those with wealth as Vena is still an Oligarchy. Her family has held the court speaker spot for three generations, hers being the fourth, so there is a lot of responsibility of her young shoulders.

Miral's voice has been trained since her birth to be like listening to music. She speaks with a quality that the best holo-radio DJ would struggle to match, and is a voice everyone can put a face too, just like her mother. Despite her young age she has filled the position with distinction, even if some of the older members of the court look down their nose at her. Winning over the support of all the minor barons and lords she is meant to represent has proven a task. However a handmaiden's job doesn't stop at court politics, because she is not the most important figure at the court, she often has time to put her mind to intrigue and keeping tabs on the various powers that might otherwise destabilize this fragile Oligarchy.

Combat Function: Smashing an Opponent with Djem So and then smashing them some more with a Telekinetic attack. Route one, overpower and destroy. On the battlefield her command of her troops is tenacious and relentless against her foes. In the court she pursues them with the same single mindedness.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

House Viak has been second fiddle for too long. Equally ambitious as the leading Venan house Rael, long have they sought more political power and influence. Lachell the eldest child has held the reigns with an iron fist since becoming its matron in chief. The 5th Army makes up the main armed force on the planet, being the most heavily deployed. Lachell's men and women love her. They want reform to a more military state, opposing the corporations push for control on the planet and so Lachell has many devotees within the armed forces supporting her claim to be made Queen of Venan.

She wants the fragile Oligarchy done away with, and a fresh new order put in its place. Naturally wanting House Viak to become the new royal line. Most of the planet opposes this. The trouble is Viak holds so much sway within the armed forces, any civil war is likely to be long and bitter. There was less support for her views until recently, then House Rael began to fracture internally, and offworld corporations began to take more control of local affairs. The reactionary response she wishes for is to the far right of what most will be comfortable with, however fear is her ally.

Personal motivation exists too, as her planetary corporations directly rival that of House Hellvas. She see's their offworld influence as a way to encourage traditionalist sentiment further and further to her cause.
