- Accessibility: Essentially impossible to reach without accompanying or following Skeevi, this repurposed space in the guts of the city-planet was not meant for habitation or discovery. Secrecy is its primary defense.
- Description: A long-forgotten structural element transformed into a small, simple, reasonably safe home.
- A shapeless couch and caf table where rare visitors can hang out or crash.
- A ladder and a locked, trapped ceiling hatch, the nest's main entrance.
- Various well-hidden compartments and escape routes suitable for a wiry street kid. Some of the compartments include small weapons or valuables like Skeevi's holotattoo pens.
- A comfortable chair (stolen or salvaged, like everything else) beside a broken window. The window overlooks an ugly alley from about fifty meters up. As emergency escape routes go, it's terrible.
- A caf maker and a hot plate in company with a small shelf of food.
- A desk with a terminal whose components do not, by any standard, match.
Low, comprising a trap on the ceiling hatch. The trap is a knockout blast salvaged from CorpSec riot gear.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
A couple of years* ago, Skeevi Merrill put down roots in this place Not Meant for Habitation. They procured furniture a piece at a time until the nest resembled a small, drafty, run-down studio apartment.
*So far as the galaxy is concerned, this room a) is vanishingly insignificant and b) has been set up like this for at least four or five years, though Skeevi would insist it's been no more than two from their perspective. Time on parts of Denon has been known to run more slowly than on other worlds, like a much milder version of the Tyus Cluster. Skeevi half-believes a tall tale about a ruptured mist-weaver cocoon bleeding time in the caves beneath Volgho Hollows. It would explain why their terminal clock and comms keep throwing errors, and why the great happenings of the galaxy seem to move so quickly. None of this makes a ryv's worth of difference to Skeevi's life and how they use this space, of course; it's just interesting.
