BIOGRAPHY:
Ryan Kastrel grew up on Coruscant in the Undercity. It was a rough upbringing that saw the loss of two of his siblings as well as his father before he turned fourteen. It was quickly on his shoulders to help take care of his sister and his mother as best as he could. He dropped out of what could be called education and quickly set to working as an apprentice at various shops. This work was where he learned how to be a mechanic to a limited extent.
That occupation didn't last particularly long before he had started digging up more on the thing called the Galactic Empire from nearly a millenia ago. His investigation into the Galactic Empire started taking up a lot of his free time and he began to formulate ideas about being a stormtrooper at his impressionable young age. Not that there was a great deal he could do about it, but as he learned more and more about the Empire he began to realize that it could be his opportunity to start striking back against the hellhole that was the Undercity.
He was never able to go back to school, but he was still in contact with his friends from it. From there it wasn't very difficult to convince many of them of the idea as it was just a cool gang to be a part of. It wasn't anything major in the first years of inception: bullying aliens that were causing trouble and shouldn't belong, causing trouble in shop owners where there was frequently alien gatherings, petty crime that rarely exceeded a few hundred credits in real damage. They were able to keep from being caught by covering up with various masks and making sure to use clothes they dug out of garbage to conceal their identities.
As he got older, they started to turn more to vigilante justice. Skoll, as he was now known as within the group, started bringing in older and more experienced people in the Undercity to join this organization. The organization went from a group of teenagers then providing their vigilante justice to a more organized militia-type group. It was during these years that Skoll started to learn how to be a gunsmith and help create and maintain the weapons for the militia organization. To keep from drawing too much negative attention, they didn't use the Imperial name in their group even though the discipline of the organization was based around the old doctrines. Instead they kept their name from being too well spread and just referred to themselves as the Militia.
While their organization did cause a noticeable decrease in street crime, it increased the amount of illegal substances, prostitution, and other trafficked goods through the areas the Militia was in. The organization would shake down business owners, especially aliens and people who weren't from Coruscant, and would make sure it was clear that aliens were not acceptable in the area.
The Militia continued to turn more militant and started to sever because of it. Many of the original members and people who joined at the beginning felt that it was moving away from the vigilante justice that they were supposed to represent and turning too much into a criminal organization.
The tear this initially created errupted into a full scale fight in the areas the Militia controlled as the two sides waged war against one another. This blatant criminal warfare was quick to draw what had been bribed police coverage to come down on them. The Militia was broken in weeks and those that stayed were arrested. Skoll, seeing the trouble brewing, had vanished just after the fighting had started to keep from being trapped in the lockdown the authorities put in place. He had finally put together all the equipment he had gathered, though was unable to say goodbye to his family, before he vanished from Coruscant under the disguise of a mercenary who had been hired for one of the clubs on the lower levels.
