Tyger Tyger
The Clinging Fire
Image Source: Pack from Rocketeer, Boots from Borderlands (I think)
Intent: To provide a means to facilitate an evolved characteristic fighting style for Tyger Tyger.
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: Formerly Iron Crown Enterprises; Personal modifications made
Model: Custom
Affiliation: Personal
Modularity: The jetpack and boots can be separated from each other to work individually. The metal used to armor each piece can be swapped out, as can the jump harnesses, for greater protection, to make quick or long-term repairs, or just to upgrade with the availability of superior resources.
Production: Unique
Material: Durasteel, desh-terenthium, repulsor/microthruster components
Classification: Anti-Energy (Blaster and Lightsaber), Anti-Ballistics
Weight: 10kg
Quality: Anti-Energy 5, Anti-Ballistics 5
Special Features: Advanced biofeedback sensor (For intuitive response to operator’s desires in movement); wrist device for manual operation and diagnostics.
Strengths:
(+) Allows medium-precision, hands-free, swift, gravity-defying tactical maneuvering and straight-line assault.
(+) Designed to operate even in enclosed spaces. Maybe not a bedroom, but perhaps a shopping mall or gymnasium.
(+) VERY small emergency reactive repulsor to cushion high falls; shock-absorbing soles to help mitigate the lesser extraneous heights.
(+) Boots are built water tight to prevent trenchfoot.
(+) Speed mitigation software to prevent extreme speeds in tight spaces
(+) Due to more limited function, low-armored targeted user (Tyger Tyger), and decreased speeds, is able to use a more engine, less fuel, and more confined cableage, allowing for a lighter weight jetpack system and fewer opportunities for “snagging.”
(+) Smaller design and mild armor integration allow for comfortable and convenient slinging of weaponry
(+) Can potentially burn people with kicks
(+) Boot thrusters allow for swifter pivoting, increased turnaround efficiency, and recovery following straight-line jetpack dashes.
(+) Durasteel casing provides armor for the system as well as the user.
(+) Attached by harness, so can be removed reasonably quickly
Weaknesses:
(-) Harness can be destroyed, cutting flier prematurely from jetpack
(-) When activated, becomes noisy, like a lawnmower trying to whisper. Impossible for stealth missions.
(-) “Quite slow as repulsorlift vehicles go.” It’s fuel source is also so limited, it’s ineffective to worthless as a transportation device. Take the bus.
(-) Becomes deadweight, if disabled.
(-) Limited power supply gives only about two hours of total flight. Less, if pushing max speeds and heavier weights.
(-) “Low vertical ceiling (<200m)”
(-) Connective cords remain vulnerable to snags.
(-) If jetpack and boots become out of synch, system is dangerously useless.
(-) “Bad luck, crosswinds, birds or inexperience can kill the operator very dead.”
(-) “May cause complications for, or be complicated by, wearing heavier armor or bulky clothing.”
(-) “Vulnerable to debris, ion blasts, electric shocks, and EMP.”
Description: In a universe of Jedi and Mandalorians, a good strategy is often the best weapon you’ve got.
Having received a broken ICE Razorhawk in good faith for the completion of a bounty contract, Tyger Tyger (with incredible engineering insight from the six-year-old “Leia”) set to work on repurposing the tech for his more aggressive combat style, enabling hasty dashes to tackle or disarm an opponent pre-emptively. As a light-armored, mid-to-long range tank, the jetpack system also compliments the evasion necessary to ease where his armor lacks, as well as enables him to better control the distance between himself and his opponent. The two developed the flight system with Tyger Tyger’s current equipment loadout in mind, and the fuel and engine is geared toward that weight. Adding too much more will dull effectiveness and pre-programmed software responsiveness, some of which may be remedied through direct manipulation through the wrist-mounted controller.
On the bottom of the right tank is a decal featuring the Mandalorian tusked-skull inside a red circle with a line through it. Adjacent to it is another circular decal, or what remains of one, as it appears someone attempted to remove it – residual adhesive still present. It bears the words “Eat Sith and Die.”
It is designed with a retro look due to a personally-desired aesthetic for the character.
Propulsion: Repulsorlift and microthruster
Top Speed: 71 km/h at Max (Warning: For Emergency Use Only. Fuel cannot sustain). Space: Class 16 Speed, 1 Maneuverability
Passenger Capacity: Can carry approximately one additional Tyger Tyger (90kg) without the lift failing (fuel will be extinguished VERY quickly, however). With pre-existing momentum, potentially more with no cost to fuel.
Primary Source: ICE Razorhawk Maneuvering System
