Skytroopers were the footsoldiers of the original, ancient Eternal Empire, highly developed battle droids which despite being produced more than 3.000 years before, greatly surpassed most droids the Confederation had to offer. Highly mobile and effective when directly commanded by their Praetorian Units or even Knights of Zakuul, the Skytroopers served in all kinds of operations.
Now they are re-produced for exactly the same purpose. Supplement the forces of the Grand Legion wherever possible and provide cheap and fast firepower for most situations. One of their specialities is the orbital drop, where the Skytroopers enter the lower atmosphere and await deployment above the skies and the battlefield, coming down when being called to surprise the enemy.
