Public Slicer for hire

Jin sat at the back of a crowded noodle bar, hood up. Eating with one hand while typing away on his datapad with the other, decrypting some data he had acquired from his most recent hack.

He was here because he was running low on credits, to remedy this he had posted a covert ad on the Holonet, offering his services for the right price. For now, he waited, frequently glancing towards the entrance to evaluate the customers entering, and prepared to bolt if it seemed he had garnered the wrong kind of attention.

A pair of Nikto approached, both in casual wear but packing holdout blasters.

In a rather curt fashion, they silently say on either side of the slicer - a wanted man in need of credits. The perfect kind of employee for the Chantin Kadijic.

Wordlessly, one of them slides a small holoprojector along the noodle bar, coming to rest directly next to the slicer's food. What appeared in the transparent blue scanlined projector was the rather unappetizing visage of a Hutt.

Not just any Hutt, but the 3500 lb head of the Chantin Kadijic, a Hutt family on the council of the Hutt cartel.

The hologram spoke in Huttese, "Uba tinka jee-jee nopa boska uba 'anonymous' stuta? Jee hotshuh! Soong uba need moulee-rah, bolla jee-jee ateema, Jin—moulee-rah got banka miko goola memkana nenoleeya."

The two Nikto seemed on edge. Perhaps it was the fear of finding themselves on the wrong side of the Hutt's disfavor, or perhaps it was because of secondary orders should Jin refuse. Either way, hologram of the Hutt acted cordial enough.

Jin considered running as he saw the aliens approaching but he didn't move from his seat, it didn't appear like they were here to harm him, not yet at least. He watched the message with a grim frown, he'd always heard that working with the Hutts was a slippery slope, not something you could easily walk away from. But they did have a point, he needed the credits and didn't have many options left.

"Were you sent with anything else?" He said to the Nikto on his left, "Job details or a way to contact your boss?" As he waited for a response, a sense of unease crept over him, he was regretting this already.

The two Nikto seemed to relax - an outright denial or firefight seemingly averted.

One of them slid two-way communicator discreetly to the slicer's spot at the bar, leaving the holoprojector in his possession.

It was a means to find future work, discretely, with the Hutt Cartel. An open invitation for contract work, without resorting to blackmail outright. After all, an amicable working relationship was preferable in a world of backstabbers and thieves.

The two Cartel goons looked around, acting as if they had just finished eating and departed before anyone of consequence saw them lingering.

They stood a little too in-unison and walked off, leaving the slicer undisturbed, and leaving little trace of their contact if others came responding to the holonet advertisement.

OOC: Hit me up anytime, would be happy to write a few crimes together!
