Strengths:
- Long Range: Many of the weapons aboard the vessel are able to strike at a distance.
- Stealth: It contains a number of stealth technologies in an effort to conceal its presence both to the naked eye and to sensors.
- Lumbering: A very slow maneuvering and slow ship in general, the ship is unable to outpace much in the way of speed. Making it vulnerable to smaller and more agile ships that may be able to weave in and out of its firing arcs and blind spots before it can turn away from danger.
- Short Range: While having many long-range and even some standard range weapons, the vessel is unable to defend effectively. While it does employ a number of point defense systems in conjunction with missile systems. Overall, the ship is heavily reliant on its escorts and starfighters to keep it safe.
Initially, the project was set to be the refit of the Elidibus, however; after a number of disagreements, the project changed. No longer were the specifications listed to be for an overhaul, but instead were to go to Fiolette Raaf’s personal flagship the Rae Sloane.
Utilizing Project Serran as a basis, both Fiolette Raaf and her daughter Ryssa Yvarro led the new Project Sloane into the construction phase. Work for the Sloane would be done in a set of orbital shipyards within the Galidraan System.
Project Sloane would be based on the old Bellator designs but with an upgrade or two and a change in aesthetics. A black matte paint scheme with a reflec-nykkalt coating to keep it off sensors at least for a moment followed by an exact layer by layer hull scheme that the Serran was built on. Then comes the guns, and on Ryssa’s orders a divorce from utilizing Aurora Industries weapons and going back to basics when it comes to turbolasers.
While Fiolette objected, Ryssa insisted it would be for the better as the new Chief of Operations works to realign the company’s goals and workloads. Defensively the Sloane would have a few differences between it and the Serran but would keep in the tradition of having a very similar schematic. Advance systems would also be similar but not the same with key differences being highlighted with one or two features. This includes the hyperwave beacon scrambler, gemcutter and the inclusion of the optical camouflage system and the thrust trace damper.
The Sloane would also boast thirty squadrons for combat with six support squadrons in addition to that. In keeping with Primo Victorian’s full utilization philosophy the ship when not in combat is designated a deep-space exploration and recon vessel and is equipped with various deep-space and long-range scientific scanners and scientific laboratories not normally found on other Sith-Imperial vessels. The ship would also boast the ability to cater to diplomatic functions with elegant suites and conference rooms in addition to this the Sloane can also work to decrypt sensitive information and keep intelligence networks going.
The Rae Sloane also features a ‘Galaxy-view bridge’ that eliminates the normal day to day Imperial vessel trench. Everything is brought to a level with the commanding officer being able to oversee or view the array of consoles and computers that work to keep the vessel going. A small raised platform that is designated the ‘command center’ also works to give the command team a great survey of the bridge area. A captain’s ready room and admiral’s ready room are also attached to the bridge to help manage both the vessel and the fleet that the Rae Sloane will no doubt lead.
