Slow wheels of democracy (Jedi Council/Republic Senate)

uhm guys, any word if you are accepting the peace proposal? The people on our side are ready for the rp were just waiting for your rp acceptance. thanks.

The factions haven't been at war but the Force Users have been. What this truce would in effect do is be a 'formal' acknowledgement of mutual respect and ceasing of open hostilities. It would also open doors for cross training both ways and possibly foster a better understanding of the Force.

All the Jedi and the Republic need do is listen to what Daxton and his fellow Templar are proposing. Whether you agree or not, its an excellent chance for us to rp our diplomatic skills, wouldn't you agree?

All we ask is that the Jedi Council agree and designate a negotiator or diplomat to hear us out. I am sure the Senate would be dying to know what is going on as well :D

I haven't heard anything pressing regarding conflict between the Jedi and the Templars, and the CIS has a standing treaty with the Republic. Hell, we even worked together in that Ryloth investigation thread. I'm uncertain as to where there was ever conflict between our Orders, but if there was I'm all for rectifying it.

Ok if you ask Genesis this actually had been cleared with him ahead of time and he gave his approval for Daxton to try mend fences between the two Force User groups.

Technically we aren't at war or even hostile with each other. However, if you follow any of my rps would note that is a pattern of open hostility between myself and several members of the Jedi Council, stemming from the first time Ben tried to take me out (or stop my madness, it depends on who you ask).

That being said, wouldn't the Jedi Council even consider a chance at dialogue instead of drawn blades? You could always reject the proposal if it seems too unfair to your side. The point is Daxton is trying to reach out to those he considers blood enemies and reach a more peaceful relationship. Abeit hard to swallow on the surface but this is a necessary stepping stone for character development.

I posted an interest thread for this and several Republic Senators as Darron expressed interest so I pushed forward, although it got delayed because of the request to post it after the election of the Chancellor. Alternately I could put it before the Senate instead or come up with an alternate if the Council rejects it completely.
