Smoke on the Water (saber training)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvD3CHA48pA
The rooms of the Silver Rest echoed with training rooms, Wu was moving and had the saber in her hand as the rekali sphere was hovering around her and weaving in and out. Her blade shimmered with a jade colored blade deflecting an energy blast back at the sphere before it was moving around with different weapons. Her robes were silver and black, with a scarf around her neck that trailed as she spun around.

"Haaaa." She said it and slashed slicing through the sphere when she kicked off the wall with her blade rotating around and coming down in a falling leaf strike when she boosted herself up with the force to get some extra height with her smaller frame and body. She came down with force and stood there looking at the room. A chance for a training session with lightsabers and she could teach some of it... well she was teaching at least one person.

She had finally finally made the time to meet once more with [member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"] like she had desired since meeting her at the festival.

Many aspects of the Force were closed to her, not just because of the way she had been created but also as a safeguard. They wanted her to be difficult for most opponents except the ones who knew her best. Themselves, namely.

She had gotten by in saber combat on a solid hybrid of Forms 1,2 and 3. But other aspects of the blade remained a mystery to her. So here she had gone, agreeing to training by the Jin. She didn't have anyone to call a friend. Wu was about the closest she had gotten so far. Her chrome red and gold suit reflected Wu's face as well as the chambers, skin tight and showing all Syd's curves.

"Master Wu..." the Ghost of Flames called to Wu stoically, not familiar with how to show enthusiasm. "I am here to train. I see you already started. What style will you be teaching? I know one through three. I had to, given my...prior occupation..."

Wu looked at the woman... thing whatever she had wanted to call herself when the jedi master bowed to her. "I was working on form four ateru. with my size it is much easier to either remain mobile and agil eor switch to a form like five. I can be compacted and stand as an immobile stone in the way." A smirk was on her face though while she remained there and was ready for herself... she wasn't at as much of a risk but forms one through three were something you needed to know how to use to conserve your energies, or how to defend. She wasn't against it and prepared as she walked around wearing the robes removing the scarf from around her neck. Her saber there as she activated it to test and make sure the power stud was lowered to make it as strong as a training saber. "FIrst thing to do is check the equipment and make sure it is ready. DOn't want to hurt each other."

Syd nodded to Wu Yeoh-Mei.

"I concur, Master Wu..." The Flame Geist agreed, adjusting her weapons to leave only mild welts instead of severed limbs.

Ataru. The only Force Enhancement power she had was flight, but she could make it work.

Blue blades shot out, making her bodysuit glisten. She spun the flame patterned hilts in her hand.

"I cannot use speed or jump where the Force is concerned. Only flight. There is a reason for that...I...am not like other beings, as you no doubt have sensed." She confessed, waiting for the Jin to begin instruction. "I was...created...as opposed to born. Though I suppose that isn't the most meaningful distinction. I was made through Alkahest..."

She was still not used to the new era. The era she had come from had barely pulled away from deaths door. Cheesy action horror had been everywhere, though this era was not free of it either.

At least she had a purpose again. Her search for a piece of normal was still ongoing, though. Hunting dark siders was still a booming business. She had been doing one thing and one thing only lately...

"I know magic, if you have any interest in that sort of thing..." Syd mentioned.

Wu looked at her and raised an eyebrow she wasn't as versed in some of the fancy things the galaxy did but she knew that creating force babies was possible. From all accounts several jedi did it and many more claimed to be from a union not entirely traditional... so she had no questions about that guessing that this woman's creation was just between two species that were not compatible genetically for reproduction. "I see." She nodded but stood there with the ideas of how to better teach her before she was moving around. Her attention on some details though... if she could jump and only fly well they could work that to an advantage. "Flying though could make this easier... we'll go with that for Ateru."

Syd nodded at [member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"]. The tall entity prepared for instruction.

Ataru was a highly aggressive style. Syd often fought with patience and strategy, trying to isolate multiple opponents as best she could, though she was fully capable of aggressive attacks against multiple opponents thanks to the hybrid nature of her primary style.

As she prepared for instruction she decided to get to know Wu better.

"How long were you a Jedi, Master Wu?" Syd inquired as she spun her blades more out of habit than anything else. Spinning helped confuse the opponent and built up the kinetic impact from swinging. She had fought Ataru plenty of times but this was the first real time she had ever tried to really learn it. In some ways she was quite lucky she had been created with most of her skills in place. But learning was the real trick for her. Really learning a fighting style took time. It had to be a part of you almost.

And they were in such an enclosed space...Syd tried to forget that part, for it reminded her of her time in the resin chunk. The centuries of screaming into an amber void...

SHe was listening to her and she had to think about it for a moment or two. She had been a jedi for awhile joining the order as part of a diplomatic exchange program thanks to her sister giving the idea but then Zhang had vanished and things had happened on their homeworld. "I have been one for awhile, the Jin Empire joined the republic and the jedi order then the republic fell and the Jin empire was attacked by several groups. So I am mostly alone here in the order only my padawan is a half jin and half atrisian."

Syd listened to the answer of [member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"].

"I too, have been mostly alone since coming out from...retirement..."

Syd searched for the words. She had never considered herself to have a strange life until she had really had a chance to think about it. She had had a strange life.

"I was made to destroy Dark Siders. That is the only reason I exist. I was made during the Gulag Plague aftermath. Being made solely of fire, I wasn't affected by the hellish, unhealthy conditions still on many worlds. They could send me places they could not send their own...my makers, I mean..." she clarified, for some reason trusting her more.

Syd got into position, waiting for Wu to give out her first instruction.

"So what first?" Syd asked.

[member="Syd Celsius"]

Wu listened to ehr and she was understanding some fo it... mostly she knew what the plague was and somewhat knowledgable about it now but her world hadn't called it that. She then looked at the woman and bowed her head as she held her lightsaber and was prepared to begin. THe blade in her hand with a small ring around the top that looked like a guard and gave it a more katana style look. She activated the blade and the jade colored saber blade hummed softly as it was at training levels and low intensity. Wu thought about how to begin. "Ateru is an aggressive form, meant to attack from several angles and you are constantly in motion. One of the big things about it is resistance, from another saber instead of striking and locking the blades you use that to pull back and strike from another angle. You want to get them moving and find a pace where you won't tire yourself out."

Syd's silver sabers, a subtle flame pattern on the hilts, widened, chrome emitters adding a bit of weight to the end to aid in the spin, twirled, the blue blades flashing across her suit as she thought about how to execute such a constant attack. The blades came down one at a time pulling back as she described.

She decided to test it on [member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"], executing twin strikes at high speed with powered down weapons at Wu's chest. She didn't have a hang of this style yet, but depending if Wu defended or attacked herself Syd was prepared to attack yet again. She naturally preferred offense to defense and used her capacity for flight to levitate and enhance the swiftness of her attacks

[member="Syd Celsius"]

SHe could see what was happening and moved with the force. She wasn't prepared to well go all out and attack.. this wasn't life or death but this was practice which meant she had to and would show the padawan the respect she deserved in a duel. Her blade moved as she was going now. Her movements fast and sending up down and backwards when it caught the two blades coming at her chest. She was small, fairly compacted and basically one of the smallest jedi masters in the order so tucking herself in presented a smaller target as she pushed backwards with her legs sending herself up into the air and fidning a spot of telekinetic energy to push herself off of to the side. Ateru was about movement and she could keep herself going fast with a saber slash to try and strike at Syd's shoulder and then kick off as she came back at another angle to try and get her forearm.

Remember, Geist..." The man in white reminded her as he sparred against hos chrome suited creation in his personal training chamber, images of various animals carved in a tight band around the square, brown room lined with carved weapon racks built and blended into a floor that was a pearlescent white. The Man in White wore sterile white robes with a purple pentacle over a featureless white mask that the hood covered. He wielded a single bladed purple lightsaber, albeit one that was longer than normal which he used in an extremely customized form of Niman, which he emplyed by flicking the tip of his blade with quick, lethal slashes and stabs that forced the Geist to fend off the extremely fast attacks that threatened to tear through her two saber defense, relying more on her form three knowledge than her form two. Her creator was a cunning opponent who was genuinely hard to out think. His variant of Niman was one that all Resistors practiced, encorporating quick, focused, but unpredictable strikes, barrowing heavily from elements of The Strong Style developed by Luke Skywalker, and Makashi. She had been born with the basic necessary knowledge to execute her duties but learning new skills was still necessary.

"Your flight gives you the necessary speed to match some of the body enhancement powers of the Force you were created with out. But you will still need to supplement through your magical skill..." The Man instructed driving the floating ghost backward with heavy, focused attacks that she could not quite meet.

"Force Valor is not open to you, and there will be times you will not be able to fly and 'must' fight on the ground. Recite the Spells you were taught..."

The Geist, her orange eyes glowing, nodded as she landed, making an X with her blue blades.

"Ashla, grant my shell the grace of wind..." The Geist whispered, focusing the magic effortlessly as seething blue flames enveloped her gold chrome arms and legs.

The Man in White nodded. "Good. Now, attack me..."

The Geist rushed forward, noting her sprint speed was slightly faster than normal as his purple blade slapped aside strikes and stabs that got faster and faster and faster until he was forced to use Force Speed at its very limit to counter her attacks. The Geist herself showed visible astonishment, and then, exhaustion that came as suddenly as the feeling of lightness in her arms. Her guard dipped and his blade opened up a cut in her suit from which leaked flame. The Geist cried out in shock.

"...There's the downside...it gradually increases your speed and reflexes the longer you fight an opponent, but exhausts your magical essence if you don't break off to avoid the cooldown, so to speak, every once in a while..." her creator explained to the created, who drew flame from a nearby torch to replenish herself. He readied himself.

"Now, the second spell..." he instructed.

The Geist took a deep breath, watching her creator as he patiently guarded.

"Ashla, grant my shell the strength of The Rancor..."

The spell took effect immediately, enshrouding her arms completely in red flame.

The Man nodded again in approval. "Well done. Now, like I showed you..."

The Geist lifted her blue blades high, going into a variation of the Strong Style. She flew at him, and The Man was forced to go completely defensive as she attacked, her strikes now very powerful and very hard to parry or block, keeping onhim relentlessly though the strikes, while slow by any means, were nowhere near as fast as they were usually delivered, though when he attacked in turn finally, he had to rely on stabs to try and get through her defense, keeping his blade between her and him as she attempted to swat it aside.

The spell cut off after a minute and thirty seconds, and the blade defense of the Geist suffered as The Man in White managed to nick her in the arm.

"You must always be aware of how long your spells last, and how powerful each is, and what circumstances they are best employed in." He instructed. "Beyond your flame abilities, magic, more than even a lightsaber, is your best weapon."

"Why not just make me with Body enhancing powers?" The Geist asked, backing away and using up the nearby torch to fix her newest cut.

The Man in White was given pause.

"Because, it was a matter of personal safety." He explained in the quiet baritone. "There are few beings like you, created for your specific purpose. There must be failsafes, gaps, even if we are only aware of them fully."

"So you can destroy me if I go bad..." the Geist realized.

The Man paused again, nodded after a moment.

"Yes..."

The Geist accepted the answer. There were always risks.

"I will not fail you."

"I have every confidence in you." He replied, guarding with his blade..."Again!"

The Geist flew at him in a corkscrew pattern.

Syd dodged the strike at her shoulder, but was inwardly thrown off by the sudden memory of her creator's instruction and could not dodge the strike to her arm. It opened up, leaking flames.

"Damn..." Syd remarked, stopping a moment, after [member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"] landed the strike. "I guess I really AM rusty."

Syd spotted a piece of fallen banner in the back, sliced off in a training incident perhaps and floated over to it, setting thecrag ablaze and running the flames over her cut

The chamber was too small to fly in, and Wu had no doubt knew for certain she was not training an ordinary being.

Syd spun her blades into an Ex, decided to try one of her really old spells.

"Ashla, grant my shell the grace of wind..." she recited, the blue flames enveloping her gloves and boots as she sprinted forward, spinning her blades extremely fast around her to try and hit Wu in the leg with a light cut, the spinning blades more to try and confuse Wu than anything...

(Plasmid Acquisition Theme plays)

(Skills relearned!)

(Spells relearned!)

Skill: STRONG STYLE (DUAL BLADED)

A lightsaber style developed by Luke Skywalker, allows for heavy yet mobile blows, drawing blades back in order to deliver fierce, heavy strikes from all directions, and powerful counters, disarms, and hard to predict feints, but suffers from its slowness, and that Syd's saber defense is more weak than usual, leaving her very open to attack

Skill: RESISTOR'S NIMAN

Specialized variant of Niman employed by Syd's creator's, the Resistors of Darkness. Employing elements of the Strong Style and Makashi, the lightsaber is held out low in front of them and used to make fast unpredictable slashes and thrusts with the tip of a lightsaber blade that is longer than average. A deadly, precise style, but its focus on targeting both the throat and center mass means its defense suffers on the sides and rear.

Spell: SPELL OF FIERY SPEED

When spoken, character's speed and reflexes increase the longer they fight an opponent but must break off every few seconds to avoid a devastating side effect that greatly exhausts them. Active for three minutes when used prudently.

Spell: SPELL OF FIERY EMPOWER

Uses a spell to increase physical strength in combat. Can be used with Force Flight, making Syd especially dangerous out doors

Wu mind was moving and she reached out with the force her senses getting everything to her. Syd was thinking about something different... she was remembering something and the jedi master moved with her blade using her size and the room to her advantage to find a place she could move more freely as the flame being went to heal herself. The jedi master focused on the force itself as she watched and she could see something happening. SHe didn't understand it just yet but the meanign was clear... Syd wasn't exactly human.

Like a few she had met and she was moving as the girl came at her, the saber in her hand remaining active when she shifted to a two handed stance letting herself dive deeply. The sensation of wrapping herself into the force, letting it guide her muscles and movements. The sensation in her head as the force moved her saber blade to block and feet to move around. A soresu style defense that would let her move quickly and stay above the crashing tide that was Syd's force empowered assault. She was breathing in the scent with her eyes closed.

THen she opened them and focused with a smile on her face. "You are doing well... better then I was expecting." She wasn't sure of the duel but she was loving it and she allowed her saber to move quickly as a blue of jade green energy to try for contact strikes to the hands.
