Snowy encounters

Felran truged up the god forsaken mountain. Why was he here again? Oh right because his master told him it was supposed to 'improve' his strength or something like that. He didn't believe a word of it. I would rather battle a herd or rancors or jump into a sarlaac than walk up here. He didn't even think there was anything important here, it was just snow and rock. And when he reached a high enough point he was going to have to go back down the mountain. Seriously it could have been a lot easier to just fight a couple rancors! Felran sighed, it wasn't like he was going to go back down. He had already dedicated himself to this.

Ai-lynn was preparing to head back home after she had cut down a tree and chopped its trunk into usable lumber. She carried a stack of it which was tied onto her back and looked at the ground where the tree once stood. There were two more stacks of lumber. She sighed at this tiring process and wished that there was a better way for her to transport the firewood she needed instead of walking up and down the mountain. She slowly made her way back up on the route she usually takes home. She was in no hurry after all; There was nothing much she could do at home in the cold mountains anyway.

Felran grumbled as he continued to walk up the mountain. He had just about enough of climbing and he ready to turn back. That's when he felt it. There was a disturbance in the force. This meant there had to be something here. This belief drove Felran to push on, he truged through the snow as fast as he could to catch up with this disturbance. It was close....real close. But how long untill he found it?

Ai-lynn was three quarters up the mountain when she felt the temperature of her surroundings drop as she walked on. It was an unexplainable chill that didn't come from the snow or cold winds. Ai-lynn felt apprehensive about the situation she was in. Despite her aching back, she quickened her pace so that she could reach home sooner. However, the more she climbed up, the more uneasy she felt and it was something she couldn't pass off as some sort of hallucination.

Felran's Sith robes started to flow in the wind. The farther he went up the more he could feel the disturbance. Then he saw a figure in the distance. He slowly but surely made his way to it. When he got close enough he cold decipher what the figure was. It was a woman. Felran grinned when he saw her. I don't see any hint of her being a Jedi......that is good. Felran moved closer and closer to her untill he could place a hand on her shoulder. "Excuse me miss. Do you happen to know a place to stay? It is very cold up here and I would think it will only get colder."

Ai-lynn felt something approaching as the uneasiness in her grew. She flinched when she felt a hand on her shoulder and the person started speaking to her. She slowly turned back and all she saw was someone's chest area. The being in front of her was tall. Really tall. The person was clothed in dark robes and her head tilted up to look at him. He looked really unnatural to her because he had red eyes and skin. It was her first time seeing someone who doesn't have a human skin and eye colour.

She felt intimidated by this stranger although the tone of his voice sounded normal. Being around this stranger sent chills down her spine. He seemed to have some kind of power she couldn't understand. Afraid of what he might do if she refused, she decided to let him stay over at her house for the night.

"My house.. not far from here." She replied his question.

Felran smiled as best as he could to her. "Thank you very much. Could you please lead the way?" She probably knew more about this mountain than he did. He was just surprised anyone actually lived in a place like this, it was too cold for him but he was sure it must have been freezing to others as well. His Sith robes continued to flow in the wind as Felran looked at her.

Ai-lynn nodded as she turned around and took the lead. The cold wind was beginning to get to her and her cheeks stung. She cupped her hands on her cheeks to shield them from the wind.

I want to go home quickly.. Sit near the warm fireplace. She thought to herself while continuing to walk forward in the direction of her house. She was still feeling wary of this stranger because the feeling she got from what she assumed was her "gut instinct", told her that he wasn't someone to be reckoned with.

Felran could sense the force from her. She was strong it in it. Strong enough to become a powerful Sith, or a powerful nuisance. He would make sure the later would not happen. "How does one survive up here? I couldn't never be able to live here so I wonder how others are able too?" Felran couldn't believe that someone lived up here, much less a force sensitive. Then again people somehow learn to live in the harshest conditions, and then come out as some of the strongest people.

"Born here. Raised here. We used to it because this is home." Ai-lynn replied him without turning back. It was a lie though. The temperature was exceptionally harsh in winter which she tried to live with it. The main reason why she never went down into the forests to live in was because of how tranquil and shut off her life was in the mountains from the world. She preferred solitude over living together with the creatures in the forests down below.

She brushed away her thoughts when she could see her house from a distance.

Felran chuckled "I suppose that is one way. I never got your name did I? How rude of me. I am Felran Natri, and you are?" Felran tried to give a gentle smile but it is hard when you are a Sith. So instead he just a small grin. "It is lonely up here. But quiet as well. I would think this might be a good place to meditate from time to time."

"Call me Ai-lynn." The woman replied while turning her head to look at him. She caught the grin on his face and awkwardly turned back to face the front. "Meditation? Why do you need to do.. that?" She asked him, her eyes fixed on the house they were approaching.

"Well Ai-lynn. Have you ever heard of the force?" Felran gave a full smile when he spoke of the force. She was likely clueless or only heard stories. That was good. Insanely good for Felran.

Felran chuckled "I'll tell you when we get inside. It is too cold for me to tell about it here." Felran gestured to the door and looked at Ai-lynn "After you."

"Mm. I.. agree." She replied him. Although Felran didn't give off a good vibe, what he mentioned still piqued her curiosity as she has never heard of anything called the "Force" or met someone like him.

Nodded after she saw his gesture, she opened the door to her house and walked briskly to the corner where she kept her wood. She quickly took off stack of firewood on her bag and placed it together with the pile. After doing that, she sighed in relief.

Felran walked in and closed the door. When he felt the warmth he took of the hood of his robes, showing his horns and the rest of his face. "Now, you said you wanted to learn more about the force yes?"

"I..er-" Ai-lynn turned to face and reply Felran but stopped in mid-sentence when she saw how he looked like. Horns on his head. That was a first for her. She didn't know if she should feel scared or be in awe. It's not as if this day could get weirder knowing about something called the "Force". She thought to herself.

"Sure.. take a seat." She continued, gesturing towards the dining table in the middle of the room with three chairs.

Felran chuckled as he sat down, "Is this your first time seeing a Zabrak? You look like this is your first time. So. The force. It is the thing that holds all things together. It binds everyone, it gives everyone a connection. It is poweful, it is what gives us meaning. And then there are the ones that can control it...."

Ai-lynn sat down and listened to what he has to say. After he had finished with his sentence, she replied, "Zabrak.. First time, yes. And.. The force is soul of everything?" Well, this was according to what she could understand and not even her parents told her anything about it.
