So tell me more about the Silver Sanctum Coalition

I was a founding member of the Levantine Sanctum, but the merger went down around the time I started my long LOA, so I dont know much about the finished product. Someone want to run me through what the SSC is like IC and OOC, how it's run, where it stands, what makes it special? I looked in the Factions forum and didn't see an advertisement.

A lot of free space. Jedi and Force users practicing in harmony. The FrontiersCorps and AgriCorps.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"] performing nightly, if you know where to look.

The LAA is around Laekia and thats SSC turf.

They're rock stars, really.

(trust you to come up with this! Now I have to think! <_< )

The reason you cannot find an Ad is because we did not do one, quite simply .. forgot, with being busy with the merge.

In a way we are still trying to 'feel our feet' with this. The Order of the Silver Jedi, (still is) primarily an order of Jedi (lightsiders) and contrary to popular belief did not go off Sith hunting. :)

Lev Sanctum, as you are aware, is based around the acceptance of many facets of the use of the force. Now since the merge, we melded together both philosophies to be best of our ability, and made some exceptions in order to accommodate everyone. After all this is a RPing place and everyone should be give opportunity to play their Jedi whatever the position of the spectrum is. SSC will not accept Sith however, because this would not sit in our alignment.

Lev Sanctum members still go about business of exploring. SJO members, do their Jedi training, do their best to protect the worlds fall under the banner of the SSC and in times of need we come together when danger appears on the horizon, and/or help our allies.

I hope this helps a little. :)

The Silver Sanctum Coalition is, as it says on the tin, a combination of the Silver Jedi and Levantine Sanctum.

So on the one hand it forms an alternate Jedi instruction area - one neither as hierarchical as the traditional Order, nor as zealous as the Covenant.
On the other it embodies a decentralised republican system where planets contribute to a common defence but with less emphasis on strict laws.

On an OOC level it forms an alternative 'light' aligned faction. The lack of centralisation also forms a contrast to the stratified Republic and the more aggressive Galactic Alliance.

As a faction we take in Dark Side users, so long as they aren't Sith, psychotic or wanted war criminals.

That's exactly what I was looking for - thanks.

[member="Coren Starchaser"], yours was very nice too. One participation trophy coming up.

Follow up question: where does SSC stand on dominions and invasions?

I get a trophy!
I was the architect of the merger *secretly runs the SSC*

When I was full-time in the SSC, Dominions were very similar to how they had been with the LS. Tell a more effective story as a faction rather than RAWR CLAIM THE MAP.

Can't speak on the Invasion front.

We dominion planets either to retain worlds lost during the merge or netherworld or to provide strategic bases to provide defence against our enemies.

As far as invasions, we don't seek them out, but if we are attacked we will fight back. The idea is that we are defensive, so we won't start the war, but if you pick a fight with us, we will do what is necessary to win.
We are not however the sort to use terror tactics, genocide or enslavement to win. We'll play the game if pushed, but we would rather enjoy peace.

But as once said "If you would enjoy peace, prepare for war" so we are ready in case anyone tries to bully us.

If the Republic represents Zealotry and the Galactic Alliance represents Courage. The SSC would represent Patience. Together they forge the mighty Triforce from which elfin boys defeat pig kings and save female royalty. Sometimes. :p

*snap hiss, pops out a can of worms* :p

I jest.

ICly don't activity go looking for invasions, as (for me) Jedi don't invade, but we would fight back in invaded or to 'first strike' in retaliation. (stuff in the pipeline for this so I will not say too much)

OOCly, for Dominions SSC consider these as a great way to progress SSC lore and history and good development for our membership base. I like to do them in a way that reflects our faction philosophy and not just do them to grab more 'cloud'. ICly there needs to be a reason for them, same OOCly. Naturally, strategies come into play and that is generally why.

I would say we represent

I've been pushing for going on a jihadist conquest spree and introducing Jedi Lords, but I people keep saying no! I'm not sure why. :p

Hmm, on a more serious level. Recent doms were:

Zygerria: Winning a pod race to gain renown on the planet, toppling the local despots and the slavocracy to liberate the planet.

Midvinter: Aiding the natives (Valkyri) in their struggle against legions of zombies.

Tygara: Part humanitarian, part combat. SSC helps Firemane and the Eldorai evacuate as many people as possible from Kaeshana before an asteroid wrecks the planet, while it descends into chaos. At the same time settlements are constructed on Tygara, their new home, and battles are fought with the drows. Part of a long-term plotline for a minor faction.

Morellia: More of a free-form dominion with a less directed plotline. Protecting the locals against a string of wild animal attacks and investigating the reason behind them, setting up a Jedi enclave and exploring the planet in general. Think Jedi stumbled on a mass grave and are searching for the perpetrators.

To note. Sio was also the one who submitted the RSD "Redheads Silver Dungeon" into the new name contest during the merger. She... changed the meaning of the 'S' twice. :(
