So, Like in my last LOA thread, thought I would give people an update.
TLDR: My eye got a metal sliver in it. Got really bad vision for months and its finally healed to the point where I don't get headaches. So I will have a slow return.
Alright, so for the people who want to read my escapades into the medical stuff and what I dealt with, here.
The metal sliver that was in my eye damaged what is called the Sclera, and Cornea. Think of a metal splinter that essentially was stabbing into my eye. It caused a lot of damage to various outer and middle layers. However, luckily it didn't touch my iris or other more sensitive parts. Instead it was just sitting nearly centered in my eye. So I didn't have to have serious surgeries to get it fixed or whatever. but what did happen, is that for the longest time, I could barely see out of my right eye. Essentially like taking broken tempered glass and trying to look at anything. Everything was blurry and it took two months before I could remove my eye patch. Worn to protect the eye during the healing process, and to prevent light sensitivity since the fluids in my eye was exposed more than normal. However, to help my eye return to normal, as there is a muscle there somewhere, I had to use my eye even while damaged to potentially prevent permanent damage.
So, that is why I took leave from the site suddenly. Looking at a phone screen for more than like a couple minutes killed my eye. More over, my left eye had already been damaged when I was younger so I was labeled "legally blind." for a period of a couple months until a doctors notation stated otherwise. So no driving, no work. couldn't look at screens for very long, bright lights always hurt and headaches nearly every day due to having to stress my eye in order to not lose what little vision I already have. No lie, this whole process sucked. Even now, My vision is much more susceptible to bright lights/flashes. I will likely always have this problem and it will only get worse the older I get. Pretty much the only way to fix this it to get not just Lasik but other surgeries that are considered "non vital." in order to fix it. Which I won't be able to do for a very long time.
With that in mind, Late in January, I was allowed to be taken off of the "legally blind" notation by my Doctors and Eye specialists. While that means I can drive now, the lack of being able to use my vision properly means I have some depth perception problems still, and have that sensitivity to light. However, I want to return to the site. I have been missing the site even more so because I couldn't do anything at home. Legit most of my days were just cleaning house, and listening to podcasts/videos because there was nothing better to do. I had spoken to my Doctor about using computers or other devices and she recommended I do use them, but in small doses. Enough to strain my eye to strengthen itself, without killing my vision or getting headaches again.
With that in mind, I will be returning to the site.. again... again. But i can really only spend maybe an hour or two a day. Posting will be slow. So no massive threads for me. Just small time stuff. Which is fine. been missing writing. Anyways. That is where my life has been since like October.
Again, I profusely apologize for my sudden disappearance and the drop off the earth problem I had. I had been working on some stuff for a number of characters in the Sith Empire and so I feel extremely bad. If anyone wants to do some threads, let me know.
