Solutions: PVP

PVP in events is always a bit messy. It doesn’t really involve the main plot much and relies entirely upon the other writers for traction.

With that in mind:
  • There needs to be a reason for it. Corruption/mind control is probably the best option.
  • Give writers something to do and a reason to strive.
  • Tie it into the main plot…somehow.

I’m most at sea with this one, so suggestions on how to make it work is welcome.

To make PVP matter to the plot, they have to fight over something that directly affects the plot. I've got an idea for that.

What we need is something worth fighting over. Something that will directly affect the outcome, some magical MacGuffin that'll make life easier for the galaxy if they grab it. Off the top of my head, maybe something that'll act as an antidote of sorts for the droids infected to work for the Shards. Maybe a piece of the source code. Find all three or however many chunks of the code there are, and they can completely eradicate it. Find part of it, maybe they can detect it.

I was thinking we could go for the good old trap them in a place and tell them that who ever wins gets to go free sort of thing. Little do they know the big baddie has no plans of actually doing that and just wants to watch them struggle. If we are going for the whole dark side shard thing then it would make sense why they would be so sadistic. If they don't all band together, which I do not see them doing, then it will break into a lot of fun fighting and get messy quick in a good way.
