Raven Hayashi

Raven, the not so wise fox
Raven was thrown against a wall by the leader of the three brutes. Raven then collapsed to the floor. She was on Crystalsong for a meeting but she was interrupted.

Barely keeping consciousness he tried to speak "Why.." she coughed up a few drops of blood ".. Are you.. doing this?" Raven managed to splutter, looking to the floor.

I was just, you know, walking along, drinking, passing a ball of fire between my hands. I was really happy with myself, today. But there was something... wrong. I could feel somebody in pain through the Force. Another person who was strong in it. A Dark power.

I looked around, a little bewildered at the feeling. Somebody that strong was in pain? That close by? I ran to an alley, looking around, and I saw a small figure backed up against a wall. A trio of large-ish men were standing over the figure, one of them holding a knife.

Ugh, brutes. Beating up on what was either a child or an elderly person. I cracked my knuckles loudly, and sparks ras over my hands.

"I'm looking for a fight, kiddies. Come and get me."

Raven tried look up to see who made the taunt. She couldn't believe it, it was another Ruferalahuin. She managed to stand.

The brutes turned to the new figure. The smallest brute which resided to the left spoke to into the leaders ear "No witnesses!"

"Leave and forget you saw this-" the leader began but he saw that the man had skilled pyrotechnics "Looks like we've found another. Try to take him alive, if not I'll settle with dead" the leader said to his henchmen before charging to the flame holder.

Charging. Really, now? So easy.

"You poor bastards. Only four of you. Wish we had body bags."

I let loose a gout of flame that turned into a dragon. Not full-sized, obviously, but a red, gold, and white figure that stood a full foot above my head. I laughed, and waited to see what would happen after the men got stopped in their tracks.

Raven managed to grab the one off to the left by the neck, she dug her nails into said neck. She looked to the the bright light. A dragon made of fire!

The leader skidded to a halt, he then tried swiping the dragon with his knife but the fire was too high up. Raven dropped the man with a broken neck and looked in awe.

Coming back to her senses she started to drain life from the man on the right but her strength failed, she had to stop. She fell to her knees, her gaze to the floor.

I saw the small figure drop, and I stepped through the fire, eating the leader's energy as if it were caf. I threw him across the alley. He was still alive, but barely. I spun to the other man, and I pointed at the fire. The dragon passed straight through the man, burning a hole in his chest and killing him. The last man had the temerity to stab me in the gut, but he left his knife there, and I flung him across the alley, where he audibly cracked, and blood flowed from his mouth.

I looked down at the figure who had collapsed. Another Ruferalahuín? Wow. She was still conscious, which was good, and she was still bleeding, which was bad. I picked her up, and held her in my arms like a baby. That's how much smaller than me she was. I walked out of the alley, towards my apartment, which was a few blocks away. It'd be faster than any sort of medical center. I looked down, and put my mouth to her ear.

"Can you hear me, kid?"

Raven's eyes slowly opened to see the figure clearly. A Ruferalahuin with yellow hair. She at first she freaked out trying to escape but she calmed down, or she just had lost conciousness.

She shook in my arms, and I grabbed her tighter.

"It's okay. I'm a friend. Just try to stay conscious. You'll lose more blood if you don't."

[member="Raven Mulds"]

"Dammit."

I sat down on the sidewalk, and took out a knife and a bottle of whiskey. At least I could cleanse and cauterize the bigger wounds. I opened the bottle, and poured it on the cut on the girl's chest, and then heated the knife to searing hot, and ran it along the outside of the wound, causing it to close, if slowly. But at least she wasn't losing a lot of blood anywhere else. Everything else was small cuts, scrapes, and bruises. I picked her back up, and kept walking home.

Raven was still slightly conciousness even to feel pain. Even though she was barely concious she could feel the burn of the heated knife, she let out a slight whimper.

Raven didn't know where she was being carried but she couldn't do anything if it wasn't somewhere good.

I finally got to the door to my apartment, and unlocked it. I set the girl down on the couch, laying a blanket on top of her... And then proceeded to drink. And drink. and drink. Not the best idea, but I didn't have much else to do. I needed to let the girl rest, so I couldn't make noise. I finally got up to check her pulse, and make sure that none of her more minor wounds were bleeding all of a sudden. I tapped her ear, simply to see if she was still awake. She didn't seem to be, but when I was almost to my room, I heard a loud groan.

Raven had awoken and was in lots of pain. She was trying to stand, trying to discover where she was. she Groaned in pain each time she tried to take a step

I turned around and rolled my eyes. Trying to move, already?

"Don't try to move. I cauterized the biggest wound, but you have smaller cuts and bruises everywhere."

I looked around to see if I had painkillers. Instead I found more whiskey. Well, close enough. I walked over and gave it to the girl.

"Drink. Won't make it any better, but at least you won't feel the wounds as much. Plus, it's pretty good quality."

Raven looked to the man. She took the Whiskey bottle, took off the cap and started to drink. She collapsed back onto the couch "Thanks, who are you?" she asked.

[member="Malachite Avachei"]

I nodded appreciatively as the girl started to drink.

"I'm Malachite. No, that's not a nickname."

I smiled, and looked at the girl's fur.

"You're definitely a Ruffie. Not the same species as me, though. Can you use fire?"

[member="Raven Mulds"]

"I never had a real parent. My biological ones were basically vigilantes in this city, and my adoptive dad killed 'em."

I warmed my hand up, and flames danced across it.

"The idiot taught me how to use fire and blades first, though. I will eventually throw that error in his face."

I shook my head, and my mind focused back on the girl.

"Anyway, go ahead and sleep if you feel like it. I wouldn't suggest it, though. Keeping your blood moving will help you heal faster."

Raven listened to the story with interest. She nodded to the suggestion of moving. "I'm raven" she said, standing back up. She placed her empty whiskey bottle on a table.

"How long have you been here?" she asked, curious.

[member="Malachite Avachei"]

"In this apartment? Maybe ten years. I ran away a while ago... Can't remember how long ago."

I shook my head, and nodded.

"I ran away at least twenty years ago."
