Strengths:
- Steadfast loyalty - Though Idris has had multiple specific affiliations in his life so far, he's always aligned with Light side factions. He might follow the Sith Code, but he'll live and die serving governments that protect the marginalized, oppressed, and weak.
- Diversity of thought - Reflecting on the Sith Code since he was a young boy has instilled Idris' core beliefs and values in him to the point that they're unshakable. This is the interpretation of the Qotsisajak he operates off of:
"Peace is a lie, there is only passion" : Struggle and suffering is inevitable on every level from the personal to the galactic. We can only respond to it passionately, fueled by anger. Our anger, however, should never rule us nor should it be tyrannical. Instead, it should drive us to seek justice and safety even in a life that rejects peace.
"Through passion, I gain strength
Through strength, I gain power
Through power, I gain victory" : By responding with passion, I'm empowered to win against those I struggle against.
"Through victory, my chains are broken" : When I'm victorious, I can keep myself and my community temporarily safe from as much harm as I can prevent. Victory is only true when shared.
"The Force shall set me free" : Acknowledging this way existence will give me a better chance to survive.
- Teammate mentality - Idris is and always has been eager to work alongside others towards a common goal. Even before he was an officer, he was a natural leader, but he considers himself always a team player first regardless of how other may see him.
- Force-proof - Due to a traumatic incident when he was a youngling training at the Silver Rest on Kashyyyk, Idris is completely severed/removed from the Force. Force Powers of any kind can't directly impact him.
- Selectively closed book - Though he's a great teammate and leader, Idris is somewhat more private than others are the armed services. He's willing to get real about his trauma as a Jedi youngling among other things, but won't allow himself past a certain point of vulnerability to protect his taboo philosophy. Thus, it's difficult for him to make true friends. He feels very alone in this regard, though he's steadfast in his philosophical beliefs.
- Bad knee - Idris can be caught periodically walking with a limp, especially when he gets out of the cockpit after a long flight. He sustained an injury to his left knee when young from his former Jedi Master that never healed correctly, and decades of working in the fields as a farmhand didn't help it.
- No miracle medicine - Idris can't be healed through the Force, as he's disconnected from the Force and thus can't be manipulated by it, even in beneficial ways. Battle Meditation also won't affect him.
- Haunted - Idris is plagued more than most by feelings of inadequacy and worthlessness connected to his failure at becoming a Jedi. They drive him to make the accomplishments within his reach, but also weigh him simultaneously.
He's also haunted by those in the galaxy who use the Sith Code as a tool to oppress the weak.
