iLIA6mn.jpeg

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a man-made Virus
  • Canon: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: N/A
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Scientific Name: Purple Ambrious - 13
  • Abbreviation: PA-13
  • Common Name: Purple Death
  • Virus Family: Eichenwald
  • Origins: The Hollow / Dathomir
  • Other Locations: Mid-Rim Planets (Sporadic)
  • Description: Under a microscope, the virus is spherical that is mostly purple in color with blemishes of white on the organism. The virus has an almost crystal-like appearance.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Morphology: Spherical
  • Size: 187 nanometres
  • Color: Purple w/ White
  • Distinctions: The virus is considered 'dead' when it's in the dormant phase, but becomes 'living' once awakened, and thrives rapidly once it affects a host. Infection, or contraction, is airborne by hosts sharing a food source or by sharing air space where the infected exhales and those not infected inhales. In water supplies, the virus is contracted by the water species through the slits in their gills and is only transmitted from fish to fish by being in schools.
VIRUS SPECIFICS
  • Source: Synthetic
  • Host Species: Animals (including Fish and Fowl)
  • Host Range: Broad
  • Viability: Forests (Temperate / Tropical) : Grassland : Water Sources (Lakes, Ponds, Streams, Rivers)
  • Lethality: Fatal
  • Severity: High
  • Infectivity: Extreme
  • Modes of Transmission: Airborne : Water Supply - Natural or Man-Made (Not Filtration Water Systems)
  • Incubation Period: Days (5-6)
  • Re-Infection: No
  • Vaccine/Cure: There is a known vaccine available. (Open To Another Writer's Submission)

SYMPTOMS & EFFECTS
  • Fatigue (for Fish, see Ich below))
  • Upper Respiratory Symptoms: Land / Air Animals - Sneezing, Trouble Breathing. Fish - Trouble Breathing
  • Digestive Symptoms: Land / Air Animals - Vomiting, Diarrhea. Fish - Loss of Appetite
  • Skin conditions: Land Animals - Sores, Blisters. Fowls - Warts, Increased Molting. Fish - Ich.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

Strengths
:
  • Contagious: PA-13 is highly contagious, able to infect sources rapidly moving from one body to another.
  • Fatality: Unless a vaccine is administered to land animals and fowls, or to water sources, death is highly imminent once the incubation period has depleted, and the stages of the symptoms increase in severity.
  • Severity: PA-13 is rated high on the severity spectrum.
Weaknesses:
  • Temperatures: The virus can only survive and thrive in warm - high extreme temperatures, where in cold - freezing extreme temperatures, it will die immediately.
  • Lifespan: PA-13 is transmitted by airborne and through natural or man-made water supplies, but it requires a living host's body to survive. The virus lies dormant until awakened, once it passes from its dormant phase, it only has a seventy-hour window to find a host.
  • Dormant Phase: The virus can remain in the dormant phase for years before becoming active. The change in weather, in most cases, causes the virus to break from its dormancy.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Deep underground in her lab of horrors known as The Hollow, the twisted mind of Darth Moskvin, with the support of the Sith Ascendant Order, sought to create a virus that attacks not humans or alien species, but the physiology and biology of species that are considered but not limited to sources of food such as domesticated creatures, food creatures, hunted creatures, grassland and plains creatures, jungle and forest creatures, desert creatures, aquatic creatures, and flying creatures.

The concept behind the virus is to aggressively attack creatures on sporadic planets in the Mid-Rim to dramatically devastate both the ecological systems of the planet and the ability of the inhabitants to survive on a planet where food can become not only scarce, but extinct; in theory starve them out, forcing governments to divert resources to save and rescue that threatened planets. Which in turn, in theory, will strain these governments to the point of weakening them financially, leading to unhappy citizens.

The Mid-Rim planets are just the beginning, the Witch's test subjects. Hidden and safe from the eyes of the galaxy, there are several vials containing the PA-13 virus; that could potentially be introduced to other regions of the galaxy, thoroughly infecting more planets leading to a galactic wide food shortage, galactic wide civil unrest, but more importantly, to an extremely galactic wide genocide.
