Deck Fourteen Lounge - A place for crew no matter their rank can come to relax, enjoy a warm meal not produced by the galley, a drink or two and perhaps a live band.
Internal / External Contamination Sensor Suite - Unique to the Sondheimer this sensor suite enables the vessel to pick up on various types of hazardous emissions that traditional starships may not be able to identify. The suite is often used to ensure safety aboard the vessel in case of radiation leaks, hazardous waste leaks or any other kind of harmful substance. When detected the sensor will automatically place the ship into a blue alert status informing members of the crew to begin decontamination procedures immediately.
Anti-Radiation Chambers - A series of chambers located near the east and west engineering rooms that work to clean up radiation. If no radiation present for the vessel’s primary then the Anti-Radiation Chambers double as a holding chamber for dangerous / hazardous emissions and are then handled by science and engineering crew members until the vessel reaches a facility that is able to cleanse the Sondheimer.
Hazardous Waste Hold - Tanks built specifically to hold a variety of hazardous waste, rest below science laboratories and above engineering.
Decontamination Suite - Given the amount of hazardous materials that crew members aboard this type of vessel encounter. FOCIE installed a larger decom suite, which rests on both science levels and medical.
Mess Hall - Standard galley for the crew to enjoy their meals, aboard the Sondheimer is the Captain’s Mess which is a private galley for the Captain and their select VIP.
Crew Quarters - Much like any vessel, quarters are meant for the crew the Sondheimer affords six enlisted to a room, four non-commissioned officers to a room, four junior officers, two senior officers with Chief of the Boat and Captain along with First Officer maintaining their own private quarters.
Gravity Well Projectors - There are four of these aboard the ship, integrated into the ship’s systems this enables the Sondheimer to perform her primary combat function. They’re monitored by engineering, science and tactical crew members.
Main Engineering - The heart of the Sondheimer-class starship are her engines and here you will find the Chief Engineer and his/her personnel working hard to keep the Stormcloud running. They’re also trained to use the Hazard and Damage Control Systems, along with the Environmental Control Systems. Works closely with Security while aboard the bridge to keep hull integrity, and shield systems online. Engine type: Hypermatter annihilator (x)
Engineering West / East: Built exclusively for the Sondheimer these two ‘wings’ or rooms are adjacent to main engineering and houses REGS (Redundant Energy Generation System). Essentially both the West and East wings have smaller variants of the main engine that mirror each other creating a redundant system that works to recycle energy aboard the Sondheimer.
Extensive Infirmary - The Sondheimer comes equipped with extensive and uprated onboard medical, including three operating rooms, a small ambulatory center that can see up to six people at a time. She also comes equipped with a dentist and dental surgeon who is on-call, along with standard sickbay compliments.
Electronic Warfare CM/CCM Systems - Equipped to handle sensor jamming or an attempt to overwhelm sensors, the Sondheimer can also, inflict the same on her enemies.
Scientific Laboratories - Includes, astrophysics, biochemistry, quantum physics, botany and geology, other disciplines share the ‘free roaming’ lab which means it can be transformed into whatever type of lab that particular scientist is in need of.
Bridge - Where the commanding officer and his/her team monitor ship’s vitals and coordinate to ensure mission completion.
Tactical Offices - The Sondheimer comes equipped with offices for tactical officers to coordinate, study and keep up with the Sondheimer’s weapons and defensive systems.
Security Offices - There are a few of these on the Sondheimer, several, actually. Including brigs, and armories along with a shooting range to keep officers up to par on their skills.
Shooting Range - Enables the crew of the Sondheimer to keep up to date with their range weapon skills.
Armory - Located in several key places throughout the ship, houses blaster rifles, pistols, ion rifles, and any other handheld weapon that is issued.
Fabrication/Manufacturing - Or the shop as it’s simply referred to is relatively small compared to what is in the Inflictor-class, larger than the Stormcloud’s manufacturing labs, here, the Sondheimer engineers are able to create parts and make them as needed due to the Sondheimer need for continued repair and maintenance. This also enables the Sondheimer to make minor repairs to damaged waste systems or hazardous materials control systems.
Fitness Center - While standard aboard all First Imperial ships, this fitness center comes equipped with a studio, and two handball courts.
Hygiene - A hair salon, and dry cleaning center are available aboard the Sondheimer as well.
Logistics Management - Who keeps tracks of all the inventory, supplies, spreadsheets, power usage and overall personnel? Operations, from quartermasters to personnel officers the men and women who work Logistics are also trained to handle communications systems and typically house the cryptologists and linguists under their branch as well. They work with just about everyone while on the bridge.

Hyperdrive Class: 1
Strengths:
[+] Proper Disposal: Waste, radiation or hazardous emissions or all of the above the Sondheimer is uniquely equipped to deal with it all. Additionally, she can make minor repairs to already existing structures that handle radiation, waste or any hazardous emissions.
[+] Gravity Projectors: Armed with gravity wells, the Sondheimer is ready to take on enemies of the First Order. Her gravity wells prevent enemies from jumping into hyperspace, as well as tearing ships out of hyperspace violently. By emitting an unstable space the Sondheimer is armed and ready to assist the First Order wherever she may be called to serve.
Weaknesses:
[-] Energy Reduction: While the gravity wells work wonders, they are a massive drain on the Sondheimer’s energy and have required engineers to install a redundant energy generation system to help recycle energy throughout the ship. To enable such a system the FOCIE created two smaller engineering rooms adjacent to main engineering, but still when the gravity wells are activated the Sondheimer is unable to fire her weapons at the same time, rendering her incapable of defending herself.
[-] Slow Mover, No Fighters: As if being on the slower end of the scale wasn’t enough - the Sondheimer also lacks fighters or any means of defending herself while using her gravity well projectors. Her hangar was scrapped when engineers realized the amount of energy the gravity wells would require.
[-] Weapon Systems: While armed, the Sondheimer cannot fire all her weapons at the same go. Due to the massive amount of energy required to sustain the gravity wells, even when they are not ‘active.’ Weapons can overload easily if fired in rapid succession, making it a necessary choice for her weapons officers and commanding officer to use the right weapon for the job.
[-] Hazardous Cargo: As one can imagine, the role that the Sondheimer plays within the First Imperial Fleet is a unique one and that by treating radiation and emissions. One must be concerned as to where it all goes, it goes to the Sondheimer. Equipped with the proper tanks and equipment to hold such dangerous cargo comes with the risk of human error. Additionally, the Sondheimer has more exhaust ports than is typical of Interdictor-type vessels, creating more vulnerability points on the cruiser.
[-] Supernova: The Sondheimer's engine is a hypermatter annihilator core, that if sabotaged or hit will send the Sondheimer to her grave quite easily.
Description: Prior to the Rebellion of Kaeshana the young First Order fleet had very little in the way of interdiction ships. A lesson learned after the fleet battle against the Galactic Alliance, spurred the Navy into picking up the Sondheimer-class. Named for Chief Engineer Shiri Sondheimer aboard the FIV Sloane who perished during the Battle of Castameer or Omega Battle as it has now been referred to. The late engineer had been working on a blueprint, a cruiser that would enable the First Order to field more interdiction-type vessels.
Developed in Prosperia and Avalonia, the Sondheimer would be the first step in the new fleet project which involved an overhaul of most of the First Order’s main vessels. Combining older technology with new, the Sondheimer like her namesake would be versatile, efficient and lethal in both long range and short. In essence the Sondheimer works two folds, as a long range support vessel and alternatively as a short range brawler.
The average Interdictor-type Star Destroyer sits at around 1,400m respectively, however; given the Sondheimer’s size her gravity wells while still count up to four in number are tied together. Each gravity well is 34.3% smaller than your average Interdictor even at a reduced size the gravity wells are a drain on the Sondheimer’s resources, namely energy. The vessel was built with a redundant energy generation system to recycle energy, going as far as to include two additional engineering rooms adjacent to the main engineering to ensure that all systems remain functional at a standard versus minimum capacity. Even with the REGS in place the Sondheimer was still unable to fire weapons while deploying her gravity wells, when the FOCIE took down REGS from the Sondheimer the ship failed to operate properly, even at minimum efficiency with systems shutting down. And so REGS was reinstalled and reintegrated into the vessel.
Outside of combat, the Sondheimer-class works mostly as waste disposal and in particular hazardous waste. The First Order Division of Science in conjunction with First Imperial Environmental Services (FIES) conducted a survey of the near one hundred systems within First Order territory. From emissions from starships, radiation and unwanted hazardous waste being dumped in and around populated systems. There needed to be a way to reduce the amount of waste and to properly dispose of it. The Sondheimer can perform this function with great efficiency taking any waste to the appropriate facilities and clearing up radiation, emissions with her own onboard equipment.
Fleet Admiral Fiolette Yvarro headed up the development project after stepping down from active fleet duty following the Rebellion. Securing her place as the go-to coordinator for fleet development, working alongside Grand Admiral Tregessar, Admiral Rausgeber and Captain Piett. Sondheimer-class will be produced at Rakata Beta, Yalara, Ryoone, Varonat and Coveway, with the namesake FIV Sondheimer to debut shortly from Rakata Beta.
Development Thread: If Necessary
Intent: To create a smaller variant of the Interdiction that would give the First Order Navy more versatility, enabling them to field a more effect fleet. Providing our Navy with a variety of ships to choose from.
