SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Diagnostic Chip - Diagnostic system runs automatic maintenance checks on the ring blade and is able to identify parts, systems, and components in need of repair or replacement.
    • Electronics and Communications Suite - Integrated electronics and communication suite that links to virtually any system, allowing the wielder to obtain hard data from the weapon’s systems, such as running temperatures, stability, diagnostic information, Etc.
  • Remote Link - The blade can be controlled by the authorized wielder via an ion-scrambled ghostwave-channeled bio-hexacrypted frequency-hopping short range comm link, allowing them to interface with the weapon remotely. This typically takes the form of a neural link, but it can be interfaced with via other means.
  • Mono-Molecular Edge - The ring blade has edges honed to a single molecule of thickness. Thus, the edges are extremely, surgically sharp, increasing potential cutting performance.
  • Svolten Rhyolite Treatment - Allows the ring blade to retain the full measure of its integrity, sharpness, and cutting power even after sustaining hard impacts with the blade of a lightsaber or with especially dense materials.
  • Trapped Grip - Controlled by an integrated biometric authentication access control system which allows only the authorized wielder and anyone they permit to activate and wield the weapon. The ring blade is equipped with an anti-theft system, whereby the grip will discharge a potent electrical energy field in the event that the weapon is handled by an unauthorized agent, with the potential to cause severe burn injuries to the victim.
  • Ultrasonic Vibration Generator - A high-grade vibration generator, the ultrasonic vibration generator causes the blade to vibrate with extreme speed and force, giving the weapon the ability to tear through flesh, hard organic carapace, thick stone, and heavy metal alloys the likes of titanium and durasteel. In addition, the blade has the potential to inflict devastating, gaping wounds and possibly even dismember, with only a touch.
  • Poison Reservoir - The ring blade has a poison reservoir that is compatible with a range of different poisons, treating the blade with the poison inside the reservoir. However, only one poison type can be deployed in the reservoir at a time. Naturally, the reservoir can be left empty as well, should the wielder choose it.
    • Devaronian Blood-Poison - Devaronian Blood-Poison has the potential to cause extreme, potentially debilitating pain upon making contact with a victim’s flesh with even a glancing hit.
    • Senflax - Senflax has the potential to induce paralysis or numbing effects in a victim’s body. It can also compromise a person’s focus, possibly disrupting their ability to harness the Force.
    • Blood Boiler - Arguably the most gruesome of the compatible poisons, when introduced into a victim’s bloodstream Blood Boiler has the potential to turn their blood into acid, possibly inflicting excruciating pain and even causing a victim’s body to eat itself from the inside out.
    • Sith Poison - Most often utilized against Jedi and Light-aligned warriors, Sith Poison has the potential to amplify the rage felt by a victim by triggering a chain of chemical reactions that diminishes their ability to resist the Dark Side.
    • Mgehye ot Lloig | Ruiner of Mind - Mgehye ot Lloig has the potential to inflict a wide range of effects on a victim, the most prominent of which might include vivid, terrifying hallucinations and weakened willpower.
  • Sith Alchemy Construction - Alchemical alterations made to the materials utilized in the ring blade’s construction lend the weapon a powerful connection to the dark side, in turn making it significantly more efficient for the wielder to tap into dark side energies. They also make the weapon extremely resistant to lightsabers, vibroblades, energy weapons, and a wide range of other attacks. The weapon can be used to block incoming bolts, in addition to deflecting and redirecting them.
  • Vertag Crystal - Owing to the incorporation of Vertag crystals, the ring blade sings a soothing, harmonic melody that is potentially pleasing to the ear as it is swung.
  • Sith Runes - Inscribed with Sith Runes that ward against Force Light, Golden Flash, Purification, and other offensive light side powers.
  • Collapsing Mirrors Retraction System - The ring blade can retract entirely inside the hilt via molecular disruptor mirror cells for safe, easy, and concealed storage on a person. This makes the blade smaller and lighter in the process, reducing the strain on the wielder while the weapon is retracted. Of particular note, the Vertag crystals do not sing while the blade is retracted.
STRENGTHS
  • Death Ring - The mono-molecular blade and the ultrasonic vibration system lends the Soprano Slaughter extreme potential cutting power, allowing the blade to shear through virtually any material with frightening efficiency. In addition, the sheer weight of the blade can impose significant kinetic force upon its targets, especially if such an attack is delivered with speed.
  • Attune Lock - Should the intended wielder develop an attunement with the Soprano Slaughter, any Force-user attempting to seize control of the weapon—whether telekinetically or via some other method of the Force—will have to contest against both the wielder’s and the crystals’ willpower to do so.
  • Twisted Flesh - The Soprano Slaughter has a poison treatment system which is used to treat the blade with a given poison inside the reservoir. These poisons have the potential to inflict a host of deadly effects, possibly compromising a victim's ability to fight, in the process.
  • Clouds of Deceit - The Taozin skin integrated into the construction of the Soprano Slaughter has the capability to blur or cloud the preternatural senses of a Force wielder, potentially hindering the effectiveness of various sensory powers when focused directly on the wielder and the blade itself.
WEAKNESSES
  • Force Nullification - If the Soprano Slaughter is caught within the radius of a Ysalamiri field or inside the effective area of a Force-dampening creature or object, the functions of the Sith Runes and the Force Attunement may either cease to work altogether or work less efficiently, depending on the nature of the disruption.
  • Mega Hoop - The Soprano Slaughter is a massive, heavy weapon. It is difficult to carry while not retracted (much less wield with any degree of effectiveness) for most unaugmented individuals.
  • Mechanical Mutation - Like any piece of technology, the Soprano Slaughter will be susceptible to mechu-deru and other technology-twisting powers if left unprotected. A talented practitioner of such esoteric sorceries could induce an overload or some other failure that might compromise much of the vibroblade’s advanced functions, potentially reducing its potential cutting power or compromising one of its utility features in the process.
  • Belting Out Lyrics - The melodies that the Soprano Slaughter sings via the incorporated Vertag crystals could in theory be utilized to reveal the wielder’s location.
DESCRIPTION
Crafted as an anonymous gift so as to build her connections within the Sith Order, Quintessa created the Soprano Slaughter as a heavy ring blade. Although the weapon resembles an upscaled chakram, it is designed chiefly for slashing, thrusting, swiping, and other hand-to-hand attacks. While technically possible to throw, doing so would demand considerable strength and force due to its weight.

Among its listed weaknesses, perhaps an unspoken consideration of the weapon is that it requires specialized training to use effectively, with its design being based on an ancient martial art. Many of the principles of swordsmanship and lightsaber combat are difficult, if not outright impossible to translate to it. Thus, the wielder must dedicate considerable time to learning the ring blade and if possible, seek out a manual of the rare martial art that teaches how to use the weapon for guidance.

Nevertheless, with its superficial resemblance to a hoop, the Soprano Slaughter is designed as a brutal, yet elegant weapon, demanding that the wielder adopt a fighting style that is just as much murderous brute force as it is dancer-like grace.
