  • Anti-Personnel - The Model 850 is a perfect example of anti-personnel technology. Its short range and its rate of fire mean that it is best used in close quarters combat situations where it is most effective.

  • Ammunition Exchange - The design of the weapon and its tubular magazine provides the individual wielding the Model 850 with a semi freedom in ammunition choices. To unload the weapon, two rapid pumps on the pump action will eject the shell (with successive pumps ejecting the magazine). Either this can be done, or a fresh round can be inserted directly into the firing chamber, meaning that the individual can carry a variety of flechette rounds or shells (sabot rounds, high explosive rounds, buck-shot, etc etc) to provide them a variety to tackle certain situations.

..:: Weaknesses ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Armor - The Model 850 is designed to be most effect against unarmored or lightly armored individuals. Heavier armor, for example Stormtrooper armor, can easily withstand anything beyond a point blank blast. Even then, such a blast may only incapacitate an individual rather than killing them.

  • Tubular Magazine - Due to how it is designed, on the underside of the magazine is a small hinge door. The proper amount of pressure applied to a round permits the round to easily be slipped into the magazine. However this same chamber door is finicky and can easily jam, preventing the weapon from being reloaded, if it is not properly cared for. This can be caused by the elements, or by continued physical strain being placed upon the magazine chamber door.

..:: Description ::..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those moments when you've a crowd of individuals bearing down on you, or that monumental fight against a lightsaber wielding force user; the Sorenn-Syrush Industries Model 850 Flechette Launcher is the weapon for you.

Introduced as a predominately self defense weapon, the Model 850 carries a 5+1 round tubular magazine, ensuring that the weapon is in some way always loaded. Its pump-action makes reloading a breeze, though it is not as rapid as other weapons, being only as quick as the individual pumping the launcher. When fired, it propels a cloud of jagged and sharp flechettes into the air, which can easily tear through an unarmored individual or otherwise compromised or weakened structures (meaning that it can in some instances be utilized to remove doors or other obstructions).

Each Flechette Launcher has limited capabilities in terms of modification, with the most common being an added forearm grip to the pump-action. Other additions include a upper mounted sight, or a flashlight to disorient an individuals enemies or targets. Of course the weapon has its downsides as well, primarily is inability to handle armored individuals. In these instances, the Model 850 has been known to knock some individuals unconscious from a direct blast to the center mask.

Rapid Reload - The tubular magazine makes it simpler and easier to rapidly reload the weapon once all rounds have been expanded. Likewise, this same system can permit the user to reload their weapon at anytime merely by slipping a new round into the magazine.
  • Tubular magazines aren't rapid reload by any means. ( Example link ). They let you change ammo types more easily than other types of magazines, and usually allow you to carry more rounds than normal, thus leading to less frequent reloads.
  • In light of this, I'd like you to increase ammo capacity to, say 12+1, and rephrase this Strength to fit this instead.
Looks good otherwise. :)

The weapon is based off of the Winchester Model 1897 combat shotgun which was introduced in the Philippine-American War, which is why the magazine is marked at 5+1, which I would prefer that the weapon keeps this stat.

I have changed our the rapid reload strength due to your observation and replaced it with the ammunition exchange strength.
