Sorry I Asked...

Jack Rand

Captain of The Love Boat
Jack had been patrolling the border between the always hostile One Sith border with the republic, before his ship experienced some technical issues so he had to go to Kuat for emergency repairs. He was barely able to land the ship before part of it caught fire, and of course Jack was blamed for it. After being essentially robbed by the Republic's higher ups which caused a bit of resentment for Jack who already had a problem with most of them. He found himself mostly broke again and a bit more miffed than he usually was as he found himself cursing his way on to his personal ship. Jack knew that a "Leave without pay" was another way to say that you were knee deep in Bantha crap. Jack got in the cockpit and immediately made his way to Zeltros to ease his nerves.

Zeltros. Honestly, Lexa didn't even know why she bothered. A paradise filled with pink-skinned men with perfect abs and women with bulbous breasts just wasn't the kind of thing she went for. Especially with everything that had happened to her. That was still happening to her. Her hands wandered to her stomach. A bump, so tiny that it was barely even noticeable, had formed there. The child was growing in her. Always growing. And she knew nothing of how to raise it. What was she going to do? She sat in her usual meditative stance, facing a lake that was a part of a park. She stared out onto the sparkling water with a solemn emotionless expression. How could she do this alone?

Jack had cleared customs with very little issue, few people would actually bother to stop an upset looking imperial soldiers. Though his mood lifted after seeing a few of the cafarels, both male and female. He was feeling much better as he thought he would, Zeltros had that effect on him. While walking towards a cantina, Jack saw a woman looking rather troubled sitting in one of Zeltros' beautiful parks. Jack fixed his uniform as he walked over to her, he was always one to help pretty women. "Hello miss, what's the matter."

Lexa's eyes left the blinding lake and came to rest on a man who had come up to her. Was something wrong? Yes. Everything was wrong. She said nothing at first, simply staring at him with a cold and serious expression. "No." She replied flatly, and turned her attention back to the lake.

The woman was quite clearly upset and something in his mind told him that he should leave her alone. but Jack never gave up on helping people who needed it, so he put his hand on her shoulder and gave her a friendly smile and tried to project warmness as he talked to her. "Don't worry darling I'm a Republic Officer, you can trust me." He gave her one last smile.

Lexa glanced down at his hand without moving her head. "I carry no trust for anyone. Much less a Republic Officer." As she said this, she used the force to lightly push his hand off of her shoulder without touching him.

Jack tried to comfort her again, this time with a more smoothing attitude. "Hey look don't worry about what I am, you can tell me your problem." He didn't want to seem like an arse in front of this woman, just polite. He seemed to have offended her enough already.

Maybe if she were younger and more naive, she would've gladly accepted this stranger's help. But Lexa was a fully grown woman. She wanted no one's help because she didn't see how they could do anything to benefit her. She stood up. "My problems are my own. No one can help me." As she said this, she turned and began walking back toward the busyness of the city.

Jack quickly ran after the woman as she made her way into the city, quickly catching up to her then giving her another smile. "Then at least let me guide you through the city. Pretty women shouldn't be left alone in a place like this." Jack could tell that she was more than capable of guarding herself, but he never gave up on a chance to not escort a lady.

Obviously this man would not take no for an answer. Lexa sighed, saying nothing as it would do no good. She continued walking. Whether or not he was "escorting" her through the city was of no interest to her.
