STRENGTHS
  • One with the Machine: Making full use of the Pellucid Crown, a Sith pilot is able to bridge the connection between man and machine, cutting down reaction times and directly receiving information about the ship and its surroundings.
  • Mind in the Machine: A Tsudakyr Drone is integrated into the ship itself, assisting the Sith pilot in any way requested and directly communicating with them by means on the Crown. As an added bonus, they are able to serve as an especially advanced autopilot.
  • Apex Predator: Making use of numerous microdrives in place of more conventional engines, the manoeuvrability of the Sorzus Syn is near unmatched, being capable of accelerating in any direction, spinning on its axis while retaining its velocity, and similar manoeuvres. Further enhancing its efficiency, a high-tech ECM Suite makes it difficult to get a targeting lock on or even detect the Sorzus Syn, though it is hardly a true stealth vessel.
  • Versatile Distribution: Owing to an especially advanced power distribution system, the link between pilot and craft, and the flexibility of its unusual engine system and experimental main weapon, the Sorzus Syn is able to shift power to where it is needed, maximising its efficiency for a wide range of combat scenarios. (OOC: It increase the rating of its Armaments by +1/+2 by reducing its Defences by the same amount, and likewise for Manoeuvrability and Speed respectively. The change is not instant - engines are probably the quickest, whereas diverting power reduces shield integrity for a while - fully drained shields (Very High v. Low) would likely take a full minute to restore themselves after returning to the standard firing mode, quicker if one desists from firing at all during the recharge period.)
WEAKNESSES
  • One with the Machine: Linking directly with a vessel is not without its disadvantages - the Pellucid Crown tends to encourage recklessness and bouts of passion in the Sith pilot and damage to the ship will be felt by the pilot as if they themselves were injured, though it shouldn't physically harm them. Much.
  • Straight Ahead: While certainly powerful, the Composite-Beam Laser is the Sorzus Syn's only weapon - its firing rate is decent compared to a single laser, but very low compared to, say, the Dominance's four. Not to mention that it only fires in a straight line - better aim well.
  • Individual Limits: The Crown bridges the gap between man and machine and the Tsudakyr is certainly helpful enough, but the heaviest burden weighs upon the pilot - there are limits to how quickly even a Sith can react, and speed means little without skill.
  • Lone Wolf: So complex is the Sorzus Syn, so obscure its repair procedures, and so uncanny its presence to the uninitiated, maintenance typically requires dedicated facilities around the same size as those of a full squadron! A Mechu-Deru practitioner could probably jury-rig something in an airspeeder garage, of course.
DESCRIPTION
The brainchild of Archon Neris Farr of the Primyn Group, the Sorzus Syn is designed for Sith, by Sith, its unusual frame packed full of a mixture of bleeding-edge technologies and ancient Sith techniques - perhaps nowhere is this more evident than in the fusion of alchemical hull plating and an experimental engine system.

Designed and produced in a secret shipyard somewhere in the Stygian Caldera, the prototypes were originally bestowed upon a select few Sith pilots, their insights leading to several improvements in the design - a design most reminiscent of the Sith Meditation Spheres of old, though most lacked the ability to hone the force abilities of its pilots beyond that of a conventional Qabbrat, with even the models designed for true masters of Battle Meditation lacking the capability to generate the tangible illusions of its historical predecessors.

Even with this and other limitations, it remained a formidable vessel, one far too valuable to squander on just anyone - not that anyone but a Force User could ever hope to make use of a Crown - though only time would tell whether it would be adopted by the Sith on the same level as the TIE/K or relegated to a more niche position.
