Nanobots
Alchemized
Nanobots: Before the silk used to make the robes was sent to the tailors John had it treated in a nanobot bath, the microscopic robots embedded into the material. The nanobots don’t have an ulterior purpose, no special function in the cloth apart from one, to keep it clean. John knew that Gianna would always end up a situation where she’d want to heal any injured party she came across, and he knew how important it was to remain clean when doing so. The Soteria Robes were therefore designed to let and dirt, germs or other contaminants just roll off, leaving them always a pristine white.
Energy no more: Many of the artefacts John had created so far for Gianna had passive effects designed to make her life easier, but with the Soteria Robes he wanted to go a step further than that. Although the robes did have a passive effect, the tutaminis imbued into the fabric that could absorb energy thrown at them. The energy was then shunted into the threads of refined Pyronium used to provide the ornamentation of the robes and woven through the fabric. The Pyronium stored the energy collected in this way until Gianna felt the need to call on it to fuel the robe's other powers.
From up here, you all look like little ants: The energy stored in the robe can be used to power a variety of functions imbued into the robes. One of the more unique powers available is the ability to levitate, not flight but enough to allow Gianna to hover in the air, holding her position in the case of any situation that might call for it.
Deflect/Bubble: The Soteria robes are focused on protection and to that end, John had them imbued with several protective powers, namely Force Deflection and Protection Bubble. While both powers were very defensive in nature they both have different applications. The Bubble that offered a sphere of protection at the cost of movement, or the Deflection that could be used as you moved. The Robes were designed to quickly allow Gianna the easier access to the abilities she needed to defend herself or those around her at anytime.
Force Beacon: Like any alchemized or imbued item the Astrea robes act as a beacon in the force, making it very difficult to hide from any other force user.
Null Field: When exposed to any kind of force nullification field the enhancements imbued into the robes are negated, leaving it as nothing more than a fancy looking set of robes.
Light Armour: The robes are made out of a light silk, while the force alchemy involved in the Soteria Robes creation provides the robes with a level of invulnerability, it doesn’t equate to a suit of full armour. While the armour is proof against penetrating attack it won’t do anything against the physical impact of the attacks. The thin nature of the silk robes doesn't just allow the physical strike of the any attacks made against it, it lacks the basic protections against the elements and biological threats that you would commonly expect of a protective suit.
Meltdown: While the Pyronium could store a significant amount of energy, that also made it vulnerable, any damage could cause the Pyronium to loose it's ability to store energy, potentially causing a release of the contained energy as well as degrading the robe's ability to store more energy until they're repaired.
Complete the circuit: While the robes are able to store energy, in order to use the robe's other abilities the energy then needs to be transferred to activate the effect, which requires an active choice on Gianna's part, but more than that the energy needs to be transferred as well. While this is done through the force, the flow of power is limited by the amount of energy which Gianna is capable of utilising herself. The energy stored in the robes is nothing more than a reservoir for her to draw on/ An attack strong enough to overwhelm her defences will still break through, no matter how much energy she has in reserve.
The sister artefact to the Astrea Robes John had previously made, the Soteria Robes shared several similarities with the Astrea. They had the same focused ideal behind their construction, where the Astrea robes were focused on ambassadorial duties, on being able to calm a room or a crowd, the Soteria Robes had a very different goal in mind. This set of robes were based around offering protections and utility. Not made to be worn in social situation, the Soteria robes were instead meant for those times when you knew you were walking into danger, something John was all to aware that Gianna would do if it meant helping people.
Like the Astrea robe the Soteria were made out of Cyrene silk, the fabric favoured by the citizens of Naboo to provide it a comfortable and most importantly light feel on your skin. Tailored for both movement and to retain the elegant look that would allow her to traverse the battlefield easily to help those in need while retaining the dignity that would allow Gianna to do what she needed to get done when she got there.
The central functionality of the robes centred around it’s ability to absorb energy thrown at it thanks to the inbuilt Tutaminis function that fed energy into refined Pyronium threads that ran through the fabric. This energy then could be used to power the other abilities of the robes, the levitation and protections that would allow Gianna to go where she needed with the assurance that she would be safe.
