Description:
Cloning has always peeked the interest of the public in the galaxy. From the Grand Army of the Republic to the Stormtroopers of the Empire, clones have served an important role in shaping the history of every star system. Even today, clones are used extensively by the galactic community at large; so it is only logical that a new step be taken by Spaarti to advance their own cloning products. The Advanced Cloning Vat-2, or Spaarti Cloning Sphere, is a portable alternative to the clumsy Cylinders used in cloning operations in the modern age.
Sold in racks of fifty, the ACV-2 mechanism resembles a three pronged crane claw that can be folded upon itself for easy storage. Built into the top of each mechanism is a detachable lid that hides a stasis storage area where four Ysalamir eggs are kept to provide the force repelling bubble needed to speed grow clones. Installed into the top of the lid is a magnet that allows the entire mechanism to be hung safely any metallic surface when it is on tight. This design allows the mechanism to be hung on ceilings, racks or walls for maximum storage. Once properly stored, each machine networks itself with the other ACV-2s in the area and with a wireless connection the user can network the entire cloning system to a mainframe with a click of a button. This mainframe can be something as large as a super computer or as small as a holopad; though numbers over 50 will generally overload holopad devices.
When activated, the three "prongs" create a gravity bubble. Once the bubble is in place, the user fills a port on the side of the mechanism the cloning fluids and genetic material which is then automatically readied by the system. After this point, all the user need worry about is to maintain a constant flow of nutrition into each sphere to keep the clone healthy and to install proper flash trainings at the prompted intervals; which display themselves on whichever system the ACV-2 has been networked to.
This system drastically improves on the storage and time required to grow full sized clones; with each clone only taking three standard week to grow as opposed to ten years. However, this technology is not without its weaknesses. While it allows for the quick creation of clones, flash training in this period of time generally breeds slightly poorer clones who require additional training once out of the sphere. If a full year is taken to grow the clones, they are generally ready for combat right out of the vat.
Secondly; unlike with cylinders, EMPs are highly destructive to these Spheres. While Cylinders have physical shells that are hardy but take more room; Spheres are more easily stored but are dramatically effected by electro bursts. A single EMP can take down multiple racks simultaneously, frying important hardware that disrupts the gravity field and causes the unfinished clones to hit the ground; generally killing them. It can also cause the loss of the eggs or total destruction of the mechanism, thus carrying hefty replacement price tags.
