Special Ops Unit Interest Check

So I've been thinking about starting up a new Special Forces Unit. "What's the difference between this Spec Ops Unit and all the others?" I hear you ask. Let me explain.

My idea is that this unit will specialise in rapid deployment tactics through the use of drop pods. Using drop pods as a deployment tactic allows the squad to be easily inserted behind enemy lines. Because the unit will be away from any allied units capable of support, the team must rely on Naval air support and in some cases the unit will have to act independently with no support at all. Usually the unit will preform high priority missions such as capturing high valued individuals or destroy vital enemy installations.

Unlike other similar units, this squad will not rely on skill to maintain an advantage. The squad will instead adopt the newest and most technologically developed weapons and armour to grant themselves maximum combat efficiency and an advantage over any foe they may encounter. As CEO of The Orion Corporation, Slate will be able to used his company to produce any specilised equipment this squad may require.

I have many more ideas I wish to expand upon in the future, but before I do that I need to see who would actually be interested in a squad like this. When I know how many people are interested I will start designing the rank structure and the equipment the unit will require.

(It would be great if you could write a reply saying whether you are interested in becoming a members this unit. A brief overview of your character would also be appreciated.)

Sorry man, this is going to be a a Galatic Republic Army Unit. Probably should've specified that better...

And I don't think I'd be too popular with my Repulbic friends if I start fighting for One Sith or criminal empire ;)

Would you be ok with having temporary members that pop in and out kinda like mercs but not? If so my character and his "Security" team of Mando's are game. [member="Slate Estrada"]

I don't see any reason why that wouldn't be okay. But member of the Galactic Republic will have priority over everyone else. However since you and your men will be temporary, you probably won't be able to keep the equipment we use on missions and such. I'll PM you on all the details when I get this squad running.

Glad to have you on board!

Hmm. We might need to talk. lol I was thinking about something very similar to this idea. Are you looking to lead this group of advance units? or just provide the equipment for them with your company?

I have got a spec ops squad I made and it approved and I'm looking to people to fill it would to my XO/asst.squad leader and if the other want to come with you all the better

I was looking to do a bit of both, however I wouldn't be able to make all their equipment with a tier 2 company. So I would need companies, such as yours to produce some items.

If you want, PM me and we'll talk.

The correct answer to Aedan's original question is no. Only members that are complete, full-time members of the Galactic Republic are permitted membership into any Republic military unit. All others will have to be accepted as allies on a thread-by-thread basis. Even then, they will not receive any access (IC) to Republic information or resources.

Simply solved me and my group (mostly NPC's) join the Republic and try to save a sinking ship. What do you say you get Aedan Miles and my 6 man NPC unit for the Spec Ops team and everything.

If you wish to join the Republic and devote yourself to its ideals, you are free to do so.

Your application, however, will likely be denied if you hold ties to criminal elements.
