- Personality: Dek is young and sometimes brash and impulsive. That being said, he is a genius when it comes to electronics and computers. A life of playing hover ball and his more recent military training make him a capable soldier as well.

- Boy Genius: From a young age, Deklin demonstrated a genius-level ability when it came to understanding and manipulating electronics and computers. While other children were graduating from high school, Deklin was working on his Master's thesis in Computer Science and Engineering.
- Natural Athlete: In addition to this high intelligence, Deklin is a natural athlete. As a teen, he was a planetarily-ranked Hover Ball player. As an adult, this has allowed Deklin to maintain the high level of physical prowess necessary to be an Antarian Ranger with relative ease.
- The Rage of Grief: Deklin's whole family was slaughtered when the Bryn'adul invaded his homeworld of Saleucami and he was the only one to escape. Since that time, Deklin has been filled with an irrational rage when it comes to the Bryn'adul. When faced with the possibility of causing hurt or pain to the Bryn'adul, he will often break ranks in order to do so, even to the detriment of the mission or his teammates.
Deklin Argos was born on Saleucami approximately twenty-three standard years ago. As a child, he showed intelligence far about the planetary average-especially in the areas of Electronics and Computer Sciences. Quickly outgrowing the planet's public education system, Deklin was admitted to one of the world's most prestigious schools at the age of twelve. In two years, he graduated the equivalent of secondary school and began taking classes at Saleucami's premier technical college. Within four years, Deklin had graduated Summa Cum Laude and was well on his way to earning his Master's in Computer Science. In addition, Deklin was an avid Hover Ball player and was planetarily ranked.
At the age of eighteen, Deklin enlisted in the Saleucami Planetary Militia for a summer internship as an Officer Cadet. He served in a rural farming area, where he would come to meet Jesson Doss, a former Republic sharpshooter who also served part-time in the militia. The two would serve together in a small skirmish led by Antarian Ranger Beltran Rarr against a group of raiders who were abducting local villagers. In the aid, the raiders would be thwarted, but not before several of the villagers including Jesson Doss' family were taken off world. Doss, hoping to use the Rangers' resources would leave to join the elite organization.
For the next five years, Deklin would finish his Master's and begin working at a prestigious computer software firm. He would live in the Capitol near his family until the Bryn'adul invasion. During the onslaught of the Bryn'adul, Deklin would return to service with the Planetary Militia with the rank of Second Lieutenant. He would command a platoon of soldiers in defense of the Capitol. Early in the battle, Deklin was wounded and his men saw him evacuated off-world.
Deklin would never know what became of his troopers, other than they died defending his homeworld while he was taken safely away into SJC territory. As another blow, Deklin would soon learn that his entire family was lost to the Bryn'adul. In an effort to gain vengeance, Deklin enlisted in the Antarian Rangers and upon passing his training qualifications would be recruited into Paladin Company. He would be granted the rank of Specialist and become a member of Captain Beltran Rarr's personal squad.
