Strengths:
- Lightsaber Resistance: The various phrik plates covering the body provide protection from lightsabers as well as blasters. It is not a perfect coverage, however, and numerous openings exist.
- Mobile: While not as light as a skin suit, this armor is extremely agile through the use of phrik plates that are layered rather than through solid form pieces.
- Blaster Resistance: Shell Spider Silk and Phrik are both resistance to blasters and kinetic attacks.
- Optimization: The inclusion of a breath mask and absorption visor optimize the suit for use in most atmospheres, and in sound intensive environments.
- Lightsabers: While the plates are resistant to lightsabers, there is not full coverage, meaning the armor itself is nowhere near impervious to lightsaber strikes.
- Blasters: It's only resistant, not impervious. Too many strikes is not a good thing.
- Elemental: The suit offers environmental protection except against corrosive agents, but offers no protection from elemental items, such as lightning.
SPECTRE operatives operate in a wide variety of environments. This often requires them to enter places that aren't suitable for their species. The standard armor provides both stealth capabilities, thanks to the use of silk and soft rubber tabi's to diminish noise and the dark color, but also provides protection from most environmental factors. It was designed with movement and defense in mind. A careful blend of defensive capabilities and allowance for agility is achieves through the use of silk and phrik plates rather than full armor. While this leaves a myriad of openings available for a skilled opponent to strike at, the belief is that the wearer will be able to avoid strikes to the vital spots by moving rather than standing still, like a heavy armor would allow. Operatives requires agility so this trade off was a necessity. The addition of thermal imaging and nightvision technology, and the absorption visor protects the wearer from sonic attacks and allows for usage in situations where nightvision or thermals are necessary. Night work is often best for operatives, and these vision modes are invaluable. All in all, it's a distinctive armor with movement in mind and decent, but not amazing, protection.
