CREW INFORMATION
Crew Name
: Alpha Squad, Special Combat Team 9. Nicknamed the Spectres.
Crew Type: Special ops team, Acolytes.
Base of Operations: Port Maw.
Crew Size: 8
Loyalties: Acolytes of the Revered Shadow, Typhos Clone Family, Enyo, Iron Fist Consortium, Alexia Zarides, The Awakened.
Description:
"You passed sentence on those who wronged you. You made a choice. Remember this: it's not just the action you take that's important. It's how you take it. Excessive violence has its place. But not when a surgical, precise strike is needed - and vice versa. When you take a life, do so with a clear head. Not because life has inherent value, but because a corpse is of use to nothing except a molecular furnace. And when you strike, do not gloat, do not let feelings of mercy chain you or last minute pleading hold you back, commit the act and move on."

- Enyo Typhos addressing the Acolytes

Alpha Squad is a special team that belongs to Special Combat Team 9. This is a unit composed of Sith acolytes who were recruited by Enyo during the closing stages of the Battle of Dantooine. The acolytes – mostly in their mid to late teens – had hidden in the archives of the former Jedi enclave during the fighting. It is a trainee unit, and thus not given excessively complex or dangerous tasks yet. However, they are trained for sabotage, theft, intelligence gathering, assassination and kidnapping missions. Broadly speaking, comparisons can be drawn with the Emperor's Hands, with the difference that the Acolytes are less elite for the time being and do not operate as solo operatives. Moreover, they are not under the illusion that they are Enyo's only Force-Sensitive agents.

Alpha Squad is the first squad of the formation and composed of some of its most notable members. It is a small group and many of its members have limited field experience, but there is a lot of potential for growth. Furthermore, they have been well-equipped. Having recognised the skill and potential of certain members during training, Enyo has decided to put them together in one group.

An Ambrosia HRD has been assigned to the squad to provide direction and supervision. As these assassin droids are created by using a modified entechment process to transfer the essence of an organic being in an HRD body, they have a better understanding of organic emotion than more conventional replicants. The acolytes need discipline, but also the feeling they can trust their supervisors, so their mechanical supervisor used to be a psychologist with a lot of experience in dealing with children from troubled backgrounds.

A good number of the Acolytes are natives of Dantooine – the sons and daughters of farmers and minor landowners. Others come from other planets under Sith dominion, such as Bastion. Their wartime experiences have given them a negative view of the New Imperials and their Jedi allies, but they have also broken with the Sith. They have thrown in their lot with Enyo to escape a ruinous war they believe they would have been cruelly sacrificed in. Furthermore, she has promised to help them develop their talents. Having gone through Sith indoctrination, they are now being shaped by her nihilistic world view.

But they are also youngsters trying to find themselves and their place in the universe and thus cannot always be counted on to blindly obey. As is typical for people of their age, they will try to test boundaries. Enyo has some experience dealing with children, since she has a clone posse to look after and has already recruited young gang members from the slums of Coruscant and Vorzyd. She is hardly lovable, but has become a mother surrogate for some. Some of the Acolytes still have families on Dantooine, but they have had to leave them behind. And Enyo is shaping them into reflections of herself.

To a degree, the Terminatrix feels empathy for them. They did not have a choice to join the Sith or fight in a galactic war, much like she did not have a choice whether to do Archangel's bidding. Her claim that she has given them a choice is not completely insincere...but also manipulative. Enyo views them as an investment, so she is not inclined to waste their lives needlessly – or sadistically abuse them to make a point. Being an areligious nihilist, Enyo does not preach a specific religious dogma and does not particularly care about how the Acolytes view the Force...as long as it does not keep them from doing as she tells them to do.

The Acolytes follow a bastardised combination of the Sith Code and Enyo's own rather practical, technocratic beliefs. They must follow their mistress' orders, professionally complete their assignments and become stronger. This does not preclude individual members having their own idiosyncratic views. Nakara, for instance, has an attachment to what she considers proper Sith beliefs, while Adara and Rufius do not care about them. While the Acolytes have different specialisations, they have all been taught the basics of hiding their Force presence as well as the basic core powers.

The mission profile of the squad include assassinations, interrogation, espionage, sabotage, theft and the like. They may also act as bodyguards for senior minions of Enyo. In short, they are not meant for all-out, frontline combat, especially given their relative inexperience. However, they receive good training and will often be partnered with more experienced agents who can act as a 'big brother'. With the exception of their HRD minder and a mercenary pilot, all squad members are Force-Sensitive. The Acolytes have different specialisations, but are being taught to incorporate their abilities into an overall plan to maximise effectiveness and act as a coordinated unit. The Acolytes have received minor cybernetic augmentations. But all their body parts are still flesh and blood, though they have received augmentations that say boost their reflexes or regeneration or allow them to communicate nonverbally. This means they do not get the benefits of extensively augmented individuals, but also makes them less reliant on modifications.

For obvious reasons, they prefer unobtrusive weapons that can be easily concealed, though they have access to heavy firepower if needed. Disruptors such as the X7-B Checkmate Holdout Disruptor and the X8-H Endgame Disruptor Rifle are quite popular. The same applies to potent sidearms like the Renegade Model 557, wrist-worn
ion beamers and the Vornskr Revolver. Likewise the ACS-205 Advanced Dual Weapon System, Gatecrasher and the Shadow Gun, a modular blaster that can switch between pistol, carbine and sniper rifle mode, are frequently used.

The Firedrake is useful when something powerful is needed. However, they are not limited to these weapons. They also favour Multi-Weapons, Terminus Shivs and of course lightsabres. Furthermore, they can make use of Stecher Wasp Droids, Infiltration Droids,
Holospheres, Lookout Probe Droids and Morpheus Sedative Drugs. They often don an MN-B Infiltrator bodyglove and a SH-N Projection helmet. This is usually worn with civilian clothes to provide protection while blending in. But they may also wear a Ghostsuit or a suit of armour such as the Spectre Scout Armour. Broadly speaking, they have access to what their parent unit does.

CREW MEMBER 1
Name
: Nakara Velismar
Age: Late teens.
Species: Human.
Role: Acolyte, assassin, sorceress in training.
Description: Nakara Velismar is a human female and the 'idealist' of the group. Raised on Serenno, she was youngest daughter of a landowner who had Sith blood in the family. It was a point of pride for her house. She was taught about the Sith ways from early on and learned about them eagerly. She even learned Sithese so that she could read the ancient texts in the original instead of having to rely on translations into Basic. She was an ambitious type. However when she reached the Academy she felt betrayed because the actual Sith traditions were replaced with a blind devotion to the Emperor, a suppression of the ruthless power and drive to exalt oneself.

When recovered by Enyo she found her ideals matched much closer to her dour cyborg guardian than the Sith who trained her. She is one of the older members of the group and has a curious streak. She was the type to spend long hours in the library of the Academy to learn what she could about Sith lore. This has carried over. She tries hard to cultivate favour and make herself useful to her new mistress. She has retained her admiration for the Sith ways of old, but feels those have been forgotten. She has some Sith tattoos on her arms from her time at the Academy. Nakara has a gift for Sith sorcery, though this inherent talent needs to be nurtured since she is still a neophyte. Her peers tease her about being a big nerd. The Acolyte has a basic ability to use Force Scattering, allowing her to mask her presence from other Forcewielders. Nakara works well in a support, stealth, and scouting role. She can use a lightsabre, but has to rely on finesse and precision rather than brute force. In that regard one can compare her to Darth Zannah.

Nakara has a rivalry with Dram, whom she regards as an uncouth brute. Both see themselves as best equipped to lead the pack. Her privileged background can be a benefit in social situations since she knows how to act among the 'great and good' of society. As with every Acolyte in the group, Enyo gave her the chance to avenge herself on someone who had seriously wronged her. In Nakara's case, Enyo captured her former instructor from the Sith Academy. He was a powerful Sith, but pompous and called her a traitor and a failure. However, Nakara had outgrown him and denounced him as a pretender who had just wanted to turn her into a drone. She refrained from killing him and instructed that he be processed for the intel he know. Enyo approved of this decision.

CREW MEMBER 2
Name
: Dram Hastur
Age: Late teens.
Species: Zabrak.
Role: Acolyte, brawler, tank.
Description: Dram Hastur is a male Zabrak who grew up in deprived circumstances. The Sith in their heyday drove into the core worlds, laying waste to their foes. Dram was an orphan living on the streets of Commenor. Ironically, he used to be a nice and likeable person. The boy took care of his younger brother and drug-addicted mother, since his father had walked out on the family. He made money on the side as a small-time hustler. However, when he made the mistake of reporting a murder he had witnessed, the gang responsible targeted him for retribution. He survived, but his family did not. Lost in the foster system, he struck out on his own. He was a bully, and a leader of a group of kids. An outburst with the Force called Sith down upon him and he was 'recruited'. He found, for the opposite reason to Nakara, it most unsatisfying.

Too many rules and worshipping a distant figure. Instead he sees Enyo as a powerful figure who will give him strength to punish those who wronged him. Dram is a tough brawler and has been hardened by a rough life on the streets. The Zabrak has little formal education, but it is an autodidact. He is well aware that people will be inclined to judge him as being simple muscle due to his background, and has learned to use that to his benefit.

As a gang leader, he pretended to be a two-bit thug in his own group to throw off rivals and law enforcement. But he also has a vindictive, cruel streak and is the type who likes to bask in his superiority when he has power over someone. Though generally an eerily calm personality, he does not take kindly to people crossing him. Deep down, he longs to be feared and respected.

He and Nakara have a bit of a rivalry when it comes to who is the head of the pack. Dram has a rather nihilistic view of the world. In order to not be fodder, you need money and power. But even that is fleeting. Like Nakara, he has some Sith tattoos, but these do not show his devotion to Sith ideals because he does not care about them. He has a talent for physical enhancement techniques. Dram has some sneaky skills, such as lockpicking, hotwiring vehicles and basic slicing.

He can make improvised explosives. He is very much focused on frontline combat, tanking and brute Force strength. As part of his education, Enyo let him pass sentence on a rival gang leader who had betrayed him. When confronted, his enemy tried to plead for mercy. But Dram chose to kill his rival brutally, beating her to death with a crowbar. Enyo approved of the ruthlessness, but not of the cruelty.

CREW MEMBER 3
Name
: Rufius Marrow.
Age: Mid-teens.
Species: Human.
Role: Acolyte, gunslinger.
Description: Rufius Marrow is a human male member. He grew up in a loving family when his home was taken over by the Sith. They knew from an early age that he had Force potential, but tried to hide it out of fear of what the Sith would do to him and force him to do. However, when the Sith detected his presence, they forcefully removed him from his home on Bastion. When that Academy was sacked he learned during the Imperial Civil War, his family were also killed. Now he has clutched onto Enyo's band as a way for him to survive and thrive.

He is well aware of the fact that his new boss, while more stable and rational than the typical Sith, is not a good person. But his options are limited at the moment. Rufius has used the 'street justice' the Iron Fist Consortium enforces on 'its turf' as an excuse to go after particularly thuggish or sadistic criminals. Enyo has decided to monitor this, but also finds it useful because it is bad policy to make a mess where you eat. He has some talent as a slicer and has taken an interest in learning about codebreaking.

During his training, Rufius was brought face to face with his Sith 'recruiter'. At first, she did not remember him. He had just been recruited because she needed to fulfil a quota. It was all just a job. Angered by just being a statistic on a balance sheet and remembering the death of his family, he beat her. However, he spared her, knowing that her death would not bring his family back and she had only been a minor cog. But because she could not be left unpunished, he asked that she be put to work in a mine or something like that. Enyo was cautious of this pacifist streak, but complied with his request. Rufius focuses on medium ranged fire like pistols, flamers or carbines. He can use the Force to enhance his aim and has skill with telekinesis.

CREW MEMBER 4
Name
: Adara Varn
Age: Mid-teens.
Species: Twi'lek
Role: Acolyte, assassin, spy.
Description: Adara Varn is a Twi'lek Acolyte who has caught Enyo's eye. One could consider her the rebellious one. She is neither the oldest nor the most powerful, but she has spirit and an independent mind. She was born on Dantooine to a family of minor farmers, but was inducted into the Sith Academy as soon as her Force-Sensitivity was discovered. At first, it seemed like a fun adventure and she was told it was an honour to be chosen. The truth turned out to be very different, and a lot darker.

The Sith are all about strength and power, but also demanded blind submission to the Empire. It has left her with a deep seated anger. Her family later disappeared. Officially they had been killed by rebels after agreeing to serve the Sith on the frontier and enlighten the natives. Necessity has forced her to hide her feelings, but they can also be unleashed to potent effect. When on the job, Adara does not gloat or toy with a target.

She also has a code of killing an enemy cleanly instead of drawing out their suffering. Recognising her precision, Enyo has trained her as a sharpshooter. When Enyo intruded into the archives, Adara attacked her with Force Lightning, believing her to be a Jedi or Imperial. The Cyborg disarmed the Twi'lek and held her at sabre point, but spared her. Adara is unwilling to be turned into a 'borg' and has made it clear that she would rather die than let that happen to her.

She can be described as feisty. Enyo can get annoyed by her attitude and wilfullness, but she respects toughness and the ability to think on one's feet. In contrast to the Twi'lek stereotype, Adara wears proper clothes. She likes to listen to music in her off-hours. Dethara, the HRD supervisor of the group, has encouraged the Twi'lek to have a hobby. Enyo considers it frivolous, but has stopped making a fuss about it.

Adara is a good swimmer and has notable Force Sense abilities. While still a neophyte, she has the potential to use Darksight and has a basic grasp of Force Scattering to hide her presence. Naturally she can use Force Lightning, though not at an advanced level yet. Enyo let Adara pass judgement on the Sith security officer who was responsible for the death of her family. The officer showed no remorse, but also did not make any excuses. The Acolyte killed the secret policeman with a no nonsense slash. Enyo approved of the efficiency.

CREW MEMBER 5
Name
: Iroa Kushu
Age: Mid-teens.
Species: Cathar
Role: Acolyte, duellist.
Description: Iroa Kushu is a Cathar male member of the group. Like the others he was brought into the fold of the Sith at an early age. However, he remained invested in the cause longer. He grew up low class and had to put up with discrimination from more well-off humans. But to the Sith the Force was the great equaliser that placed its wielders above the crude masses. The price was submission to the Empire and its emperor.

It was a price he was ready to pay and he became a diligent pupil, learning all he could to serve the Empire and become stronger. It helped that he caught the eye of a competent, dedicated instructor, who was invested in training a strong apprentice so that he could be moulded into a powerful instrument of the Sith. When the Imperial Civil War broke out, he saw the rebels as traitors. He saw combat, and was one of the few students in his group to survive the battle.

Sadly, his teacher perished during the fighting, which was a grave blow to him. He is more respectful of authority than Adara and recognised Enyo as a Sith ally when the Terminatrix found them. Iroa was reluctant to join her, seeing it as a betrayal of the nation that had empowered him, but has joined for survival and out of loyalty to the other Acolytes. The Cathar has held on to the crossguard lightsabre that belonged to his deceased master, wielding it in combat. Due to his past, he feels strong hatred for human supremacists. He is very agile and focuses a lot on lightsabre use, though he will use a ranged weapon such as a pistol or carbine when needed. His ferocity tends him to the Juggernaut/Warrior archetype. So he and Dram act more as frontline combatants.

As part of his training, Enyo gave Iroa the opportunity to get back at a racist human who had oppressed and exploited him. His former oppressor was offended by the idea of being judged by someone he openly called an 'animal' and a 'beast'. He tried to weasle his way out of things by appealing to Enyo as a fellow member of the 'master race'. Iroa tore him apart with his claws. Enyo disapproved of the needless mess, but was not feeling too judgemental because xenophobia was a sign of stupidity.

CREW MEMBER 6
Name
: Dethara Visz
Age: Appears to be in her early thirties.
Species: ARD X-5 Ambrosia Droid. Has a Mirialan template.
Role: Trainer, supervisor.
Description: Enyo has her net spread wide with various interests. She has contacts or owns some hospitals through shell companies to acquire people who are incurable but still have useful talents. With that in mind, her minions were able to acquire a critically ill Mirialan woman, a psychologist and doctor called Dethara Visz. Enyo's minions made her a Faustian deal; become whole and strong, but become a machine and serve Enyo. She has taken the deal and is now one of the Ambrosia HRDs supervising the Acolytes. As an Ambrosia HRD, Dethara is no facsimile of an organic template. Her essence has been enteched inside the mechanical shell.

This makes her a better infiltrator and improves her ability to emulate and understand organics. Dethara has experience dealing with children from troubled backgrounds and getting them to open up and trust her, using her knowledge of the organic mind to get inside the head of friend and foe alike. She is a good listener and very patient. While Enyo is dour and laconic, Dethara appears affable and friendly. However, her new self has also manifested an aptitude for mind game and psychological warfare. Being processed into an HRD has also given her considerable combat skills and durability. Being a droid, she does not get tired, feel pain or fear.

She uses every opportunity to expand her research and investigate more about the state she and others are in. She has a strong drive to achieve perfection in her profession. Her comments annoy Alexia to no end because the human is mildly xenophobic. Much to the clone's annoyance, she has to actually listen to the droid. Dethara composes regular reports and psychological profiles to keep Enyo appraised of the progress of the crew.

Like the Acolytes, she has received training in lightsabre combat. Dethara cannot use lightsabres to their full potential since she obviously lacks the ability to use the Force. Her weight and lack of Force potential makes it more difficult for her to block blaster bolts, even though she might be able to calculate the path of an enemy shot, but it is still a useful weapon for her. Moreover, her strength and tirelessness makes her a good sparring partner for the Acolytes.

CREW MEMBER 8
Name
: Lersia Nalas
Age: 37
Species: Givin
Role: Pilot, tactical advisor.
Description: Givin look like skeletons, have impressive mathematical abilities and the remarkable talent to survive in vacuum for a period of time. Lersia Nalas works as the pilot of the crew and has a background as a space pirate. Like the rest of his species, he does not need a navicomputer to make the necessary calculations to navigate through hyperspace. Instead he can make the calculations in his head.

His gaunt, skull-like features and scars make him an intimidating presence. Lersia used to be associated with Talas' Necropolis Knights, a group of Givin raiders, salvagers and saboteurs. This is what brought him into Enyo's fold, since they are under contract. Lersia has a plethora of dirty tricks that have been well-honed through a long career on the borderline illegal and plain illegal side. As a result, he takes a pragmatic attitude in combat, which is to say that he has no qualms about utilising underhanded means to make sure he stays alive and his enemy drops dead. He has experience in conducting interrogations.

Aside from his talent as a pilot and astrogator, he can also act as a medic and pitch in as a mechanic. Lersia can hold his own in a fight, but old injuries have taken their toll on him. As a result, he feels most comfortable foes from inside a cockpit. He is also a good getaway driver. He is fond of Dejarik and complex, mathematical puzzles. Some of the Acolytes have latched onto him as the creepy looking, eccentric uncle. His skeletal appearance is disturbing, but they serve a dour cyborg they are not entirely sure might not be a robot. Moreover, he is a near-infinite source of anecdotes and stories about space battles, blockade runs, heists, close encounters with monsters and prison breaks.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

When the New Imperial Order and their New Jedi Order allies deployed troops to Dantooine to wrest control from the Sith Empire, the Sith Emple was one of their tactical objectives. Formerly it had been a Jedi enclave. But the enclave had been destroyed by the Sith, who erected a dark temple. Enyo Typhos was among the defenders. While not a Sith or even particularly respectful of them, she had contracted with the Sith Empire for many battles and saw profit in supporting them. Moreover, it was a chance to fight Jedi.

She was not disappointed in that regard. When the Imperials and the Jedi breached the temple gates, Enyo engaged a member of the Jedi strike force, Loske Treicolt. The result was a savage duel. The Terminatrix ultimately prevailed, but sustained significant damage. Moreover, at the time the invaders seemed to have the upper hand in the battle for the temple. The New Jedi Order's flag had been hoisted upon the rubble.

Being the truly pragmatic sort, Enyo decided to leave the battlefield and use the chance loot a bit. Thus she spared her worthy opponent, whose valour had earned her respect. When she arrived at the Sith archives, she came across a group of young Sith apprentices. Not wanting to perish in the battle, the child soldiers had sought refuge there. Or rather, as they put it, they were guarding the archives from the evil Jedi.

Enyo persuaded them to join her, using the argument that they were doomed no matter what. According to her, the Imperials would not spare them, while the Sith would sacrifice them in a ruinous war they had not chosen to be a part of. Of course, Enyo was not a neutral observer or motivated by altruism. She was a manipulative Dark Master who saw potential assets. Nonetheless, with the battle drawing closer, her words proved convincing for the time being.

After doing some pillaging, Enyo evacuated her new posse aboard her ship, managing to weave a way through the battle going on in space. She brought the Sith neophytes to her base. The apprentices were organised into a special operations unit with the truly imaginative name Special Combat Team 9. As is their habit, Enyo's posse came up with a more colourful name, the Acolytes of the Revered Shadow. Enyo disliked it, considering silly.

During training, a group of Acolytes turned out to be particularly promising. Organised into their own special squad, they formed Alpha Squad, or as the pose preferred to it call it, the Spectres. Having taken notice of them while supervising their training, Enyo intended for them to be the core of the group and serve as a model squad others could learn from. At the same time it was a way to keep an eye on talents and mould them more closely. Dethara Visz, a former psychologist who had been processed into an Ambrosia HRD as part of a deal to save her from an incurable illness, was put in charge of supervising and directing the team. Enyo has a habit of giving HRDs command roles. They cannot be bribed and are tough fighters, but also able to emulate and understand organic behaviour.

Enyo's clone sister Alexia Zarides assumed a supervisory role for the whole unit, since the dour cyborg could not spend all her time training them due to also having to run her 'enterprises'. As part of their training, Enyo arranged for the abduction of select individuals who had wronged the trainees in some way. This served two purposes: firstly, it allowed the trainees to close unresolved chapters of their past and mete out what they considered justice, for they were the ones who passed sentence. Secondly, it was a test of character that gave Enyo insight into their personalities. In her view, it served that purpose far better than any written test could.
