Spencer, My Darli- Oh Hey Ashin!

Xavier Varanin found himself standing silently to the side of the crowd gathering during the height of the day on Annaj. It had been so long, to long, since last he had done anything with his master.

Casting an eye towards where he believed her to be, Xavier released a bit of pent up Force Energies. Not enough to damage anything or anyone, nor was it shaped to be aggressive, rather he wanted to play a game of hide and seek. His Master was it.

Moving further into the crowd of people, Xavier drew the hat off of a man as he passed, and a long jacket off of another. Placing both on himself, he cast an eye over his shoulder to check his situation. So far so good.

Xavier turned and was struck stupid, clearly not the person he was expecting. "What about?" His tone wasnt rude, just confused. Had he ever slipped and said that she was his progenitor, he couldnt remember suddenly. Then again, his mind reassured, he had been around her before without her even really looking his way. He was being paranoid.

There was something familiar about the kid. Maybe he'd been Vagrant Fleet or even Sith Empire during her Desmius days.

"You know what a Force Bond is, kid? I'll assume someone's briefed you on the basics. Means I get a taste of whatever Spencer's feeling, makes us closer than most couples as far as I can tell. It lets me tell when something's off, and generally it tells me why.

"I respect that you're wanting to learn from her, I respect that she's willing to teach you, but for the love of all that's holy, stop hitting on my wife, or I'll be taking over your training myself. Savvy?"

Xavier stared silently for a long moment, more then necessary, and then some more. Ashin was one of the most stubborn beings in existence, and she was before a genetic replica, so he was likely the same as well...

"Cant take the heat?" Varanin offered, his demeanor shifting entirely, from rigid to aloof with a cocky grin, "I havent heard her complain yet..." At that jab, Xavier eyed his progenitor through eyelashes, "Besides Im a quick study."

([member="Ashin Varanin"], it matters little but lol did he actually say anything to her IC like that? Cant remember doing so. Makes for great story though so as said its irrelevant)

"Fine. Your training starts now."

The same will that had ripped Force Storm holes in reality lashed out, without gesture or powerup time, in an attempt to snare his right ankle in a Force grip that could crush the ankle of a battle walker. She did not, however, aim to crush this ankle, merely hold it so that it absolutely could not be removed.

The grip would jerk sharply up, about three metres, and twist to allow him to dangle by one ankle. She meant to hold him in midair, upside down, for a long, long time.

Xavier felt the grip, and as swiftly as his own training would allow, held his breath as he concentrated on creating a thin layer of ice on the ground around and beneath Ashin. The hold ripped him into the air, but he knew that nothing could have been done about it. Sweat formed on his brow, while he heard the thundering bass of - wait no thats the blood rushing to his brain, leaving his pulse sounding supernaturally loud.

The main brunt of the layer of ice planted, sought out her weak leg and the accompanied cane. Exhaling, oddly in a powerful steam, he then shifted his focus on pushing the leg back onto the ice.

Hopefully something so simple would go unexpected to the woman. She was a renowned combatant, and he hoped this would lead her to expect him to not retaliate.

That might have done anything, at all, if one of her most instinctive, developed, and specialized signature skills hadn't been grounding. Much as Luke Skywalker had done, she rooted herself to the world, drawing herself downward and stabilizing her balance so not even the black hole at the center of the galaxy could have dislodged her.

She kept holding upside down by one ankle, far off the ground. "Three lessons," she said grimly. "One. Don't attack your Master. Do it again without permission and I'll break your leg. This isn't time for you to show off. Two. Do not lash out like an idiot against overwhelming force. It will get you humiliated and killed. Three. The Force may be infinite, but you are an apprentice. Your ability to manipulate the Force is negligible. Don't put yourself on a pedestal you haven't earned, and I guarantee that however long you think it'll take you to be awesome, the reality is about two to five times longer."

How could one expect another to not, when their very lives seemed based on a copy of one of the best? Everything he did, he did so in an attempt to prove himself worthy of the name Varanin.

Breathing heavily from the draw on his power Xavier spoke, "I only have attacked my master once, and it was after she requested it." Doing his best, Xavier failed in the mark of rudeness. He had lost, pitifully. This drove him to feel cheated, like saying he really wanted to train with Ashin would be admitting he failed.

Forcing a sigh, he put both hands on his face, "Had I no previous Master, I would have sought you out. Your one of the strongest powers ever to be found by Jedi or Sith alike. But you cannot tell me, in this situation, you would not have inferred attempting escape being the goal of the training." Varanin spoke, then closed his eyes and removed his hands, "I apologize if I came off as attempting to be more than I am. I just need to show...i dont know..

"That I am, I guess." Ashin wasnt a clone of some god like being, so he doubted she would know the urges he had to better himself.

"One of my trainers did this to me, you know," she said, still holding him up. "A long, long time ago. The point of it wasn't to escape. The point of it was to realize that there might be a point to it apart from escape. What do you suppose I was meant to learn from that?"

"Uhm.." Xavier blanked, he hated quizzes, "How about gravity sucks? Trust my teachers not to kark me over? Never mess wit a chick with a cane?" He chuckled at the joke, "Honestly Im not sure what to learn from this. Maybe...i dont know, know when to pick a battle?" Varanin sighed, his head was thumping gently with the pulse running through his body, how did she expect clear answers whenabdidosb - sorry the bloods messing up his thought process.
