OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create Rimward Trade League's first SSD, much like the Reliant before it the design aims to emphasise the League's joint approach to Technological, Economic, and Cultural advancement for the Rim territories. The Summit aims to project power while also being capable of leading relief efforts across the sector particularly as new threats rise.

Summit SSD

STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Hanger Capacity - The Summit SSD is equipped with 18 hanger bays, each bay is equipped with internal defences and is protected from frontal engagements by the ship's extended hull.
  • Conversion Field - Conversion Fields are highly efficient deflectors converting some of the energy into light making them an effective countermeasure to high-powered mass drivers. However, not all energy is converted meaning it will still strike against armour.
  • Atha Shielding - Turrets are less vulnerable to fighter-grade weaponry due to dedicated shielding.
  • Service AI - Service Industries are handled by onboard artificial intelligence reducing crew overheads.
  • Hydroponic Systems - Combining Atmospherics and Hydroponic Systems makes the ship more self-sufficient freeing up cargo space.
  • SCRP Armour - Silicon Carbide shatters upon impact with powerful kinetic forces, spreading the force across a large surface area. This significantly reduces the effectiveness of Mass Drivers. These are divided into separate plates further enhancing protection.
  • Shield Projector - The Summit can extend its shields to encompass nearby escorts, doing so reduces the effectiveness of its deflector shields and potentially exposes it in close-range engagements.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow - The ship's mass, as a result of its heavy armour makes it relatively slow compared to other ships of its class.
  • Hardpoint Coverage - Engines and the Rear firing arc lack protection.
  • Reactive Plating - The effectiveness of the silicon carbide hull reduces significantly with each impact; it must be repaired and replaced at a dock.
  • Force Multiplier - The Summit isn't designed for direct engagement with more heavily armed or faster Capital Ships.
  • Exposed Hangers - While protected from the front, hangers remain exposed on the flanks representing a structural weakness.
  • Forward Heavy - Capital Ship weaponry is located near the frontal firing arcs of the ship, while PD and limited capital weaponry covers the flanks.
  • Shield Projector - While deflector shields are extended, ships in close proximity can ignore the deflector shield.
DESCRIPTION
With control of Susefvi the Rimward Trade League began a rapid expansion across the region, helping secure access to valuable mining worlds and fortifying the Rimma Trade Route. This brought wealth and security to the rim, turning a fragile alliance into one of the two major superpowers of the sector. With it came the respect and power to turn the Rim into a powerhouse capable of rivalling the core worlds, or so one might have hoped.

Tensions with the Sith Order are on the rise, beginning with a skirmish in Queyta. Meanwhile, tensions are growing as the Final Dawn, with its Maw allies reduced, seeks to make good on its ambitions. Diplomacy was failing and stuck with an ageing rebellion-era fleet. New investment was needed to begin preparing its answer should these threats materialize.

Additionally, with the Enclave now in disarray pirates and warlords swooped in like vultures to pick up the pieces, expanding their operations significantly. It wasn't until the RSS Endurance encountered a distress signal that the Council realized how far and how quickly those operations grew. Kirdo III had become host to a base of operations, taking and processing slaves not only from the unaligned worlds but Rimworld Trade worlds too. It became apparent to the Admiralty Court, that capital assets were spread too thin.

In response to these dangers - with new technologies, resources and engineering teams at their disposal - the Admiralty sought to improve their Capital Assets power projection leading them to commission a conference for traders, shipwrights, and architects across the Galaxy led by Vera Tillian. They would arrive at the construction of a new supercarrier capable of securing a large swathe of space.

Building on the success of the Reliant, the Admiralty Court approved the construction of a new super star destroyer, bringing on board new allies and corporations. Utilizing Sullest's expansive mining operations raw materials were readily available for construction, and increasing levies on merchants travelling to the core helped provide funding for the project.

This is a very nice and well-put-together ship submission, and I like that you're including elements created by many different writers.

There are, however, a few issues we'll need to address before I can go ahead and approve this.

1) Manufacturer

There are two issues with the manufacturer section.

1) According to site rules, only a major faction can create a combat SSD, I've included the starship table below for easy reference.

S4mMH67.png

As you can see, while a company or minor faction can create and field a 10km civilian ship, only a major faction can create a military one.
While you can include companies as sub-manufacturers, the major faction should be the primary manufacturer of this ship.
Please adjust the field accordingly
2) This brings us to the second point. If you want to include other companies that you don't own as part of the submission you'll need to get permission from the writer. You have in one case, but the permission to use a writer's submission is separate from the permission to include the company as a manufacturer.

2) Permissions

This brings us to the actual permissions you've used. In the majority of cases you've included a series of links without any actual context. In the case of Hekler'Kok for example you're just showing Noah linking his submissions. This could have been for a number of reasons.
While I'm sure that they're all linking the subs to you in the context of this submission I need to see that element of the conversation, or for them to include a text blurb saying they give you permission to use these submissions in the creation of your submission. I'm primarily asking this so there is no confusion at a later time.
Please include expanded screenshots or reach out to the writers to obtain the specific permissions.

Please tag me when you've made the above-mentioned adjustments.
