ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Control Jets: The only real reason this thing can turn without much thruster control. Numerous control jets are scattered throughout the Sphere of Refugee for angling itself in the right area at the right time. (x)
Docking Clamps: To work in conjunction with the Tractor Beam Arrays when ships are heavily damaged and need to be towed inside the Sphere. (x)
Hyperdrive Signal Interceptor: The Hyperdrive Signal Interceptor detects flucations in the local area though not of its destination nor the type of ship. This allows those at stations to be more prepared for an ambush or assault. (x)
Ion Shield: When the Deflector Shields fail, the Ion Shield system will come online to stop Ionic damage for a small period of time (1-3 minutes). This gives ample amount of time for the Sphere to align and get out of the area before further damage is inflicted and areas of the Refugee not to be disabled during combat. (x)
STRENGTHS
- Fast Response Evacuation Dreadnought: It is made to be at the location as fast as possible. With a hyperdrive one engine, it can reach the intended destination quicker than most evacuation ships on the market.
- Fortress Sphere: It has a high amount of defenses ranging from expensive Quadranium metal, multiple shield and ion generators as well as micropole placement for badly located areas. It will most likely take an entire fleets firepower to destroy it or a highly armed dreadnought.
- Huge Ship Docking Areas: Many sections of the Sphere of Refugee has external docking areas large enough for freighters to come in and dock, unload refugees and supplies before taking off or keeping attached for a hyperspace jump.
- Massive Living Areas/Wellness Centers: The entire Sphere of Refugee acts like a very large city. It has multiple areas of personal refugee, medical centers, mess halls and even a small botany garden. It is made for transporting massive amounts of people at any time.
- No Weapons, No Fighters, No Offense!: It is unable to respond in any form or fashion to attack any starships in the area. It has to rely on those nearby to assist it in evacuation operations.
- It Turns So Slowly!: To align for a hyperspace jump requires several minutes and to turn away from incoming starships requires a miracle as it has to rely on speed and commander forethought.
- Aim for the Shield Domes!: They are large and all over on the outside, taking a few out will disable the shield coverage for that area of the ship, even if it be a small area, it can prove devastating towards the Sphere of Refugee.
During Haon Hafeys time trying to understand what to do with such a large amount of credits for a project with the Grayson Imperium (known now as The Alliance), he had to come up with a concept unique enough for them with the credits ranging in the billions given for a design. That design came with a price...a price of being stumped, laying on the floor for days on end and tearing through blueprints till Haon himself nearly went mad. However, the threat of the Bryn'adul loomed ever closer and with debates being given on what to do during such a large crisis, it became apparent something big will need to be constructed. Warships were generally his specialty though with the threat of creatures he never encountered, he decided to create a magnum opus, taking every blueprint he owned and using the best of each one along with an old style of blueprints dedicated to the Torpedo Sphere. It would not be made for combat, it would be made to save lives.
The Sphere of Refugee was a love project that spanned many months of his absence, almost taking a full year to put out from its custom shipyard. Requiring many sensors such as the ANs-9.5w Wide Range Sensor System, Sienar Fleet Systems Active Sensor Pulse Generator and the Photoreducing Sensor to just name a few, it took over a month to just wire the sensors together. During this time, many micropoles were installed and relayed throughout the entire Sphere, given as the amount of space on the inside was so open, it would need all the space it can get for evacuation ships docking in and out of its hanger bay. Docking Clamps were installed for that purpose and the ion shield generators were installed as well, wanting to take no chances whatsoever on the project.
Mess Halls, small rooms with many cots and even medical facilities with up to date medical technology were installed, taking no chances with anything and using expensive parts along the way. It became almost a symbol with the amount of attention to detail to just even the power sockets on the walls, even the amount of holoscreens in each area and the amount of languages installed on board the ship. A unique problem occurred though to where it simply would not turn...at all. It was a week long process in simulations till finally they decided to add tiny control jets all over the Sphere of Refugee till it would finally turn properly at a good amount of speed...even if it was almost nothing at all.
At the end, the bottles were broken up and the contract was complete. The bill at the end was over a two billion credits but it did not matter, he still had plenty of credits to pay his men and crew during this time as well as focus on his next projects. This was not meant to make them any credits aside from completing a contract and with all the crew being trained, it will soon be out in service for the those that needed it. Hafey would hope it would last and be a symbol of hope.
At an unusual bit of a peace agreement, a lot of Haons creations within the Alliance was slowly withdrawn with the Sphere of Refugee also being one of them. Being now used for the Zweihander Unions efforts, it is now to be seen if there is to be any use on the other side of the galaxy, away from the Bryn'adul.
