OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: Create a crude but very effective weapon for the Bryn'adul
  • Image Source: N/A, No image needed.
  • Canon Link: N/A
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Bio-mass
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Atlatl
  • Size: Very Large
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Ammunition Type: Spears or types of arrows
  • Ammunition Capacity: Extremely Small, Its holds one.
  • Effective Range: Battlefield
  • Rate of Fire: Very Low. It is single fire.
  • Stopping Power: Extreme
  • Recoil: None
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Extension of the Arm: Spine Lance's are designed to hone the wielders capability to throw a spear. The Biomass works in-tandem with the wielders arm to produce more power through the swing and more momentum. Because the weapon works with the wielder, less energy is needed and thus less fatigue is caused from the throw
  • Range: Has the potential to easily launch projectiles across battlefields and still retain accuracy to hit a target
  • Whistling Point: Alone the Spine Lance can do little, but paired with the right wielder and chaos will ensue. The weapons stopping power scales of the species the wields it. A weapon designed specifically for the Draelvasier. Needless to say its penetrative abilities can be extreme
STRENGTHS
  • THROW!: Enhances the wielders throwing capability greatly
  • Spear Him!: Potential for devastating stopping power
  • Light Weight!: Biomass on the weapon works with the user to reduce fatigue and assist produce more energy in the throw
WEAKNESSES
  • Hunger: Biomass must be fed. Just like any other living thing. Failure to do so will cause the weapon to be impaired. Use can still come from the Spine lance in this state, but at the loss of the wielders accuracy
  • Gah! Cramps!: Biomass is muscle, muscle is prone to growth and build up of lactic acid. The Spine Lance can tire after great use and will need to rest.
  • Obtuse???: The Spine Lance was designed by and for Draelvasier hands. It is far too large and heavy to be used by other species, unless they are of similar stature or strength.
  • One shot, One Um...: Spine Lance's cannot hold more than one spear to fire.
  • Myalgia: The biomass on the weapon is subject to damage. Fire burns, electricity shocks and cold...well its cold. You get the picture. All of these in extreme forms can cause the weapon to be rendered impaired or breakdown outright.
DESCRIPTION
Eons ago when the species of this known galaxy were still developing, a weapon of crude but deadly efficiency was made. It has many names that span across many different cultures and its purpose all remains the same. To launch its projectile further than what was thought possible. To the Draelvasier this weapon is called the Spine lance. A simple tool used to launch spears into their prey. Produced simply from bone, leathers and bio-mass. The weapon is rather ergonomic and is designed and/or programmed with muscle memory to work with the wielder. The result of this being a smooth and powerful throw. More momentum with the swing, more power generated and eventually focused into a single, be it rather large, spear head. Spears and projectiles of the like are capable of being hurled across battlefields, with a fair amount of accuracy at that too. For purposes the Spine Lance is a lethal weapon but is not without its flaws. For starters its designed specifically for the Draelvasier. A large and powerful species. Any species that was not of similar strength or stature would fail miserably to even wield this weapon. Next is the Biomass, the foundation of the weapon itself and key to its survival as the species grew. The biomass is nothing more than muscle. Muscle that learns and grows to help the wielder. Muscle prone to weakness, myalgia and breakdown over time. Food is also another thing to consider as muscle is a living thing. Failure to feed the weapon will greatly effect your accuracy in the future and can eventually lead to muscle decay, causing the Spine Lance to break.

Atlatl it grips.
Silent sting, it whistles by.
Spear its mark it hits.
