SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Holocaster. Tap the business holofeeds for the latest stock quotes, economic news, or holovid reports from across the galaxy!
  • Holographic Comm Unit. Embedded HoloNet Transceiver uses the HoloNet data relays for unprecedented galactic range in comlink communications. Texting is also available via a hololetter app built into the mobile O/S. Also includes a broadband antennae for use in local communications networks.
  • Mini Datapad. As the saying goes, there's an app for that. From HoloNet Browsers to banking or an urban compass, the Squib Wireless Pro has a versatile array of applications made available by Corellia Digital, Locke & Key, and other third-party developers.
  • Spyware. This uses Darkwire's fork of Navi, which can be used to infect connected networks with spyware or ransomware.
WEAKNESSES
  • HoloNet Connection Required. Access to HoloNet requires access or coverage supplied by a HoloNet service provider. Please see your Squib Wireless store for plans, details, and limits of available coverage.
  • Electromagnetic Interference. Anything that can disrupt telecommunications or subspace radio transmissions will likewise disrupt this device as a comlink, be that random Sith Lords casting lightning or just heavy ion storms rolling through.
  • Ask Not For Whom The Ion Tolls, It Tolls For Thee. This isn't hardened military communications, its a civilian comlink. An ion blaster is going to destroy this thing.
  • Blocked By Your Network Policy. For spyware to do anything, it needs to have permissions enabled. If the user restricts or never uses "Navi" then the .squib\\Tatl virus will be unable to execute its functionality.
DESCRIPTION
Like the Squib Wireless Pro, the Mini Datapad was a handcrafted item made for the company's debut at the South Systems Bazaar. The key distinction between the two being that the Mini Datapad model was made for those who preferred to carry their comlink in a pocket rather than wear it on their wrist. This had the advantage of allowing the Mini Datapad to boast a larger screen size, creating a better user experience when using the HoloNet browser app. For those familiar with Darkwire's technology, the Mini Datapad shared its frame, antennae, and basic components with the CryptLink, meaning that this was an example of SQUIB GAMES using its front to market something that it had already been producing.

As with all of Squib Wireless' marketing, the Mini Datapad was marketed as green technology for the eco-conscious consumer. 100% of its components were said to have been sustainably sourced from cleanly recycled materials. As Squib Wireless was presumed to be owned by the Squib Merchandising Consortium, it was said that all profits went directly to Squib Reclamation's recycling efforts. In reality, Squib Wireless was operated by a Darkwire cell and all proceeds benefitted the extremist's group criminal operations.
