- Two in one - Because of the working relationship between AIL and Si Tech, AIL gained access to the schematics to the GAHBT-7 Horn and made a few modifications to appear more compact while retaining its power. The turret above the tank however isn’t just the horn cannon itself but also the shroud device. The turret switches between both functions by powering down one so the other can function. The shroud uses the turret’s swivel to scan the surrounding environment to create its disguise. Switching requires both the gunner and stealth tech to communicate clearly to switch between both systems without causing complications.
- Tread on them - The tank's treads have good traction and can maneuver nearly any solid terrain so long as the treads don't have any malfunctions.
- Internal plumbing system - The prowler is a reconnaissance vehicle and will be sent on long missions out of friendly territory without being resupplied. Which is why the tank has built in plumbing for the tank’s crew to perform bodily functions whenever necessary. A built-in air freshener is included to deal with any unpleasant odors that may build up in the tank.
- Hiding in plain sight - The Prowler is equipped with the shroud device which is linked to the tank’s internal systems. It allows the tank to blend to its surroundings by taking the appearance of any object in its vicinity. The shroud also dampens the sound produced by the tank while it’s running to lessen suspicion.
- Stake out - Because of its stealth capabilities, the Prowler is primarily a reconnaissance vehicle and has enough fuel and consumables to last a week without needing to be re-supplied.
- Nothing on scans - The shroud device is not the true hero of the Prowler but rather the stygian-triprismatic polymer stitched into its plating. The polymer allows the tank to be invisible to sensors while the shroud allows the tank to be invisible to the naked eye.
- Catch me if you can - As a light tank, the prowler can easily maneuver around heavier armor and hit them in their weak spots especially when working in groups where they can harass a heavy armor group.
- Very roomy - The tank’s cabin allows the crew to walk within its liminal space without having to make awkward body movements to move around the tank. Comfort is a necessity when being confined in a windowless vehicle with two other people.
- Glass cannon - while resistant to small arms fire and smaller ground assault craft, the prowler is a light tank and cannot go toe-to-toe with heavier armor.
- What’s up there? - the prowler’s swivel beam cannon has no anti-air capabilities and can be easily dominated by aerial assault craft.
- Is this thing on? - EMP weaponry can cause damage to the prowler’s internal systems which can disable the tank’s camouflage capabilities, movement, and weapons systems.
- It’s one or the other. - The shroud device is very demanding on the tank’s systems and can only be used when the prowler isn’t moving or firing its main weapon. The prowler however can operate its main weapon while in transit.
- Why is this tree metal? - Nothing can stop someone from bumping into the tank itself while its camouflaged which could immediately raise suspicion amongst anyone who does so.
The prowler tank is the answer to solving how the enemy organizes their logistics and then disrupting them. Because of the prowler’s maneuverability and stealth, they become a proper ambush craft. They can lie in wait to harass an enemy convoy, or spring a trip in the midst of battle to support a main assault group, or cut off escape routes.
The tank can only operate with three crew members which include the driver, gunner, and stealth technician. The training to become a prowler crew member is an intensely rigorous process as they don’t need to just learn the tank’s systems, they also need to adapt to being away from friendlies for an extended period of time when necessary. Sometimes the prowler might not be used in combat and instead feed intelligence to allies based on enemy movements and positions.
