- FAST SHIP. Sprints the straightaways with powerful ion engines.
- Able to enter atmosphere and land.
- FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION. This thing is barely larger than an X-Wing.
- WATCH THAT TURN. The ship's powerful engines could produce significant thrust for a ship with somewhat lackluster handling. As a result, an inexperienced pilot could literally fly the ship apart if he attempted to maneuver without first slowing down.
The M-12G was the variant of the classic ST-70 Razor Crest design that was produced by Surron StarTech beginning in 835 ABY. The M-12G shared the chassis and most major components with the Redili Stardrive M-111H, with the two closely related shipwrights pitching their Razor Crests at a time when offworld travel was still in its infancy from the Four Hundred Years Darkness. Whereas the Rendili version was pitched as a military utility and support ship, the M-12G was marketed as a customs enforcement and police patrol vessel. With the outbreak of the Clockwork Rebellion, military sales of the Rendili M-111H dominated the market. By 837, only two years into production, the M-12G was taken out of production in favor of a more militant rebranding for the company.
Despite the limited production run, the M-12G found a niche among bounty hunters and were regularly seen along the Mara-Perlemian Trade Corridor in the 840s. Demand for Razor Crests was driven up by the outbreak of the Omega War, in 849 ABY, causing the M-12G to experience a renaissance of popularity. Whereas the Rendili M-111H models were commonplace, the rarity of the Surron M-12G model imparted collector status to the ship among the aftermarket crowd. This caused them to be traded frequently, leading to a host of issues related to aftermarket modification. By 858 ABY, the M-12Gs had begun showing up in junkyards, the sun having finally set on their glory days after just 26 years in space.
