STRENGTHS
  • FAST SHIP. Sprints the straightaways and boasts above-average FTL speed.
  • SLIDE ON BY. The hyperdrive has HIMS built in.
  • Able to enter atmosphere and land.
WEAKNESSES
  • RUNNING HOT. The hyperdrive is prone to overheating.
  • FEATHERWEIGHT DIVISION. This thing is barely larger than an X-Wing.
  • WATCH THAT TURN. The ship's powerful engines could produce significant thrust for a ship with somewhat lackluster handling. As a result, an inexperienced pilot could literally fly the ship apart if he attempted to maneuver without first slowing down.

DESCRIPTION
The M-12G was the variant of the classic ST-70 Razor Crest design that was produced by Surron StarTech beginning in 835 ABY. The M-12G shared the chassis and most major components with the Redili Stardrive M-111H, with the two closely related shipwrights pitching their Razor Crests at a time when offworld travel was still in its infancy from the Four Hundred Years Darkness. Whereas the Rendili version was pitched as a military utility and support ship, the M-12G was marketed as a customs enforcement and police patrol vessel. With the outbreak of the Clockwork Rebellion, military sales of the Rendili M-111H dominated the market. By 837, only two years into production, the M-12G was taken out of production in favor of a more militant rebranding for the company.

Despite the limited production run, the M-12G found a niche among bounty hunters and were regularly seen along the Mara-Perlemian Trade Corridor in the 840s. Demand for Razor Crests was driven up by the outbreak of the Omega War, in 849 ABY, causing the M-12G to experience a renaissance of popularity. Whereas the Rendili M-111H models were commonplace, the rarity of the Surron M-12G model imparted collector status to the ship among the aftermarket crowd. This caused them to be traded frequently, leading to a host of issues related to aftermarket modification. By 858 ABY, the M-12Gs had begun showing up in junkyards, the sun having finally set on their glory days after just 26 years in space.

The Luck's Revenge was a factory direct purchase by a shipping company known as Z-Line, operating out of the Corporate Sector. Modified to include a smuggling compartment, the ship and its pilot, a man named Harkon Quest, operated under the guise of Z-Line while serving as a courier for the Crymorah Syndicate. Throughout the years, Quest periodically updated the vessel, such as installing a Lucerne Labs hyperdrive in 844 ABY. Through the decades, Quest used his cover to become an insider among the Syndicate, eventually rising to the position of director overseeing the Syndicate's logistics. Throughout the early-to-mid 850s, Quest engaged in a brutal series of assassinations and turf wars that enabled him to consolidate power for himself as one of the underlords. At the same time, in the public eye, he ascended to the role of CEO for Z-Line. The Luck's Revenge fell out of use, as Quest's rising prestige (and ego) favored more expensive and flashier ships.

Ever the strategist, the Luck's Revenge was kept in storage even after having been struck from the books and used as a tax write-off. With his lavish lifestyle, having the M-12G tucked away gave him both a metaphorical and a literal escape pod should the Syndicate ever decide to send him into retirement. Quest had cemented no shortage of enemies for himself, inside and outside of the Syndicate. He purchased a BB-4X Companion Droid, modified into a Class Four droid, that served as his attendant and bodyguard. Over time, that droid took over Quest's day-to-day affairs, eventually replacing him as one of Syndicate's logistical lieutenants.

Quest died in 869 ABY. When he did, the droid did the only thing there was left to do.

Take the credits and run.
