DESCRIPTION
While a low speed and maneuverability rating might be considered a design flaw in other starfighter models, it was an intentional addition to the ST Vanguard. The ST Vanguard seeks to forego the idea of traditional dogfighting between starfighters. Instead it is designed to attract hostile behavior. Its slow speed and maneuverability makes it easy to assume a position behind the craft, which most pilots find as advantageous.
The ship is designed to have thicker armor in the back. This contributes to the slow speed and maneuverability of the craft. It also serves to conceal it's significant rear mounted armament and help defend the ship. The ship has a very weak forward attack capability.
That makes it vulnerable to standard dogfighting practices. To combat this, the ship makes it easy to get behind it, where it's secret heavier armament is located. In addition it has Ray and Particle Shields that can be used to protect the vulnerable and very lightly armored front of the craft from damage.
The ST Vanguard requires 1 pilot and 1 rear gunner to operate efficiently.
