A subsidiary of the NAKAIOMA Corporation. PETROCORE, unlike other subsidiaries of the group, which will occasionally explore other venues of different, albeit related profits, rarely strays from its original purpose. Entirely focused on the extraction, refining, and distribution of energy resources. PETROCORE, formerly Nakaioma Energy Consultants was the firm that got the Group started, and though it has been joined by several other massive, and highly profitable firms, it has remained close to the Nakaioma legacy. Operating one of the galaxy's largest energy acquisition and supply networks, the lives of trillions are fuelled by the resources that PETROCORE extracts from planets, moons, and asteroids wherever they exist. Founded almost a thousand years ago, on Coruscant, the corporation has since seen itself expand operations to the furthest reaches of the Outer Rim, and even highly guarded facilities in close areas of the Unknown Regions, and Wild Space. A testament to its pursuit of growth.
Supplied by vessels and equipment from Tanaka Shipping and Logistics, and Nakaioma Heavy Industries, PETROCORE could certainly be argued to be the most aggressive of the Group's subsidiaries. Ruthlessly entering systems, and in many cases, particularly throughout the less regulated outer rim, stripping planets, moons, and systems almost bare if possible. Utilizing its financial, and in rare, but not non-existent cases, its paramilitary capabilities to vacate unwanted natives, or lesser competitors from territories that it desires to operate in. Likewise, the corporation has little reserve in dealing with any individual, business, or government that approaches them for their services, or the energy that they supply. That, along with their lack of environmental awareness, being worthy of criticism.
Having resisted a number of buyouts over the years from other noteworthy private entities, PETROCORE is something that has since been fiercely guarded by its parent corporation. To further secure future expansions, and current operations. It has, in the Nakaioma tradition, absorbed a number of different energy corporations, while signing memorandums of understanding with corporations that is has been unable to, dividing regions into their respective territories and so forth. Publicly known for its lobbying against environmentalism, and the advancement of independent corporate agendas, it would not be inaccurate to state that PETROCORE has the worst public reputation of all the Nakaioma subsidiaries. Something that has not appeared to bother them much however. It has however been investigated several times in recent history for suspected wrongdoings, something that its legal team has been beefed up for.
Inherited from his father, Szuko Nakaioma, when he unexpectedly passed away. Saro Nakaioma took the reigns of the massive conglomerate as CEO at the age of 38. Where his father was a steady hand, never wanting to unnecessarily rock the boat, in-order to ensure the conglomerate's continued longevity, in the face of an unstable galaxy. Saro had an opposite view of the situation, seeing the chaos that was enveloping everyone and everything as a means to the NAKAIOMA Corporation's growth. Investing heavily in new projects, and innovations in all sectors of their business, and even expanding into new ones. He has become a popular figurehead for the brand name, and is well liked, and feared-when required, among the core elite.
