Phrik-Cortosis alloy construction allows it to be used to block incoming lightsabers, and even possibly short them out for a short time. It also protects them from direct blaster shots.
Retractable electrified phrik spikes in the butt of the blaster

Can only fire one type of weapon per post. Takes time to switch between them.
All weapons drain from the same energy cell and gas canister.
Expensive to repair, due to the rarity of the materials used.

Description:
Confusion and uncertainty at ones wants and desires and at the direction of one's future are often the birth of new designs based on the old. The Songbird, a trusty and true friend, was the basis for these new designs. The technology needed to make this weapon smaller came from more resources in the CIS, as well as a secret supporter. The Starbird-Type Blasters are perfectly balanced, with an extended muzzle, able to fire three separate types of attacks, which allowed for great variety in attacks. The addition of hidden phrik spikes that could zap anything they got embedded in with electricity was an added bonus.
However, perhaps the most impressive added feature, was the phrik-cortosis construction, making it capable of withstanding powerful attacks. This included blocking lightsabers., The cortosis also allowed it to short out the lightsabers that came into contact with it. Like the creatures they are named after, the blasters are the start of a rebirth.
