SPECIAL FEATURES
Cortosis Palm inlay
STRENGTHS
Shiny & Chrome: Songsteel. Lightweight, shiny, aesthetically pleasing. Also resistant to lightsaber attacks. Handy.
Cortosis Palm: Because Lightsaber catching is apparently a thing, the addition of the purified cortosis in the palm of this prosthetic causes it to short out those it happens to come in contact with.
Disruption Bubble: Creates a two meter bubble that dampens sound attempting to pass beyond this distance, allowing the user to move very sneakily or simply enjoy a few minutes of blissful silence in an otherwise noise-ridden galaxy.
Digital Lockpick: The little finger is actually a digital lockpick, allowing the user to try their hand at picking both physical and electronic locks.
View Masker: Creates a distortion field in the immediate area, that can cause visual and audio sensors/recording devices to temporarily malfunction. Also creates ‘visual static’ around the user, making it difficult for outside observers to identify them.
Xythan Force Shield Generator: Generates a curved force field in front the user which can absorb and reflect energy back in the direction it came from.
Music Player: Stores, records and plays up to ten thousand tracks. Most of them seem to be trashy Corellian Hip Hop.
WEAKNESSES
Xythan Force Shield Generator: The shield is only projected directly in front of the user, meaning that attacks from a different angle are still entirely valid.
Because of how the device works, depending on the angle it catches the shield, there is the potential that the reflected energy may inadvertently cause collateral damage to the surrounding area/bystanders.
Due to power limitations, the shield can also only be used for a maximum duration of thirty seconds before the powercell needs to be replaced. This can be broken down into intervals, however.
It should be further noted that, while this device can protect the user from a variety of energy attacks, it has an overall limit to how much it can absorb/reflect. Sustained blaster cannon fire will quickly deplete the energy cell, for example.
Disruption bubble: While the bubble will dampen ambient and moderate level sounds, sufficiently loud enough sounds, such as those caused by an explosion, will overload this device.
Purified Cortosis: Dimetris circuits will cause a lightsaber to be immune to the disabling effects of cortosis. Likewise, Mestare crystals are also immune to the effects and will cause damage to the palm’s inlay.
Ion/EMP: While the installed combat de-ionizer affords decent protection against the effects of ionic energy, exposure to sufficiently high levels will still render this arm inoperable.
Sensitivity: Only provides tactile sensation and only from the hand of this model.
Obvious: Lacking a synthflesh covering, there’s no hiding the fact that this is a cybernetic replacement. While most of the galaxy has come to accept cybernetic prosthetics, there are still folks out there in parts that are known to stigmatise such things.
DESCRIPTIONDid you hear about the Starchaser guy that lost his left arm? Don't worry, they say he's all right now, though.
A cybernetic replacement for Coren Starchaser, Dash tried to make this arm as, ahem, unique as its eventual owner.
As arms go, it's a pretty shiny one. The lightweight songsteel used in its construction ensures not only that, but also allows it to be surprisingly resistant to damage without causing it to become cumbersome. A further inlay of purified cortosis was added to the palm of the device, allowing the user to temporarily disable lightsabers it comes in contact with.
Having heard of the Starchaser family's reputation for getting into trouble, Dash figured that it would likely be a good idea to give it a few hidden tricks up its proverbial sleeve. With that in mind, it was loaded with a variety of gadgets that would help a poor unfortunate soul get out of a tight jam if the need should ever arise.
First and foremost is the incorporation of a force field generator in the forearm, allowing Coren to project a curved shield around his person that can absorb and reflect incoming attacks back the way they came. The upper arm conceals a voice activated distortion bubble generator and optional viewmasker, which facilitate a more stealthy and less observed approach. Similarly, the little finger contains a concealed digital lockpick, enabling it to be just at useful picking locks as it is for making pinky swears.
Last, but by no means least, it also comes complete with a music player filled to the brim with some of Corellia’s finest (and worst) musical creations produced over the last four decades. Because if you’re set on running around the galaxy playing the roguish Jedi rebel, you might as well do it with a soundtrack.
