Starfighter Procurement: Calling All Shipbuilders [ORC]

[member="Saffron"]

The Arceneau group's proposal caught interest. Taking a chance on an unproven fighter didn't appeal much to the committee, but the ease-of-maintenance modularity sure did. So did the fuel discount. And as for that secondary contract...

The committee replied with a request for more information on the mobile refueling vehicle or service. Some parts of Coalition territory needed that kind of infrastructure, and not just for starfighters.

The IX-10 was an interesting boat. It had a couple of structural vulnerabilities, couldn't be fielded in top numbers, and couldn't match the J-95 for speed. But it carried roughly triple the armament and twice the durability, and it offered comparable ease of maintenance. The innovative weapons package relied on common weapon types, easy to support in the field. The J-95 had been Jorus' pick to this point, but the IX-10 might just edge it out.

After much deliberation, the procurement committee decided that the J-95's simplicity, ease of modification, speed, affordability, and powerful sensors outweighed the excellent Aurora proposal today. The J-95, pending suitable training and infrastructure creation, would become a common sight in remote ORC systems.

A Coalition member world in need of a heavier fighter, however, opted to purchase the IX-10 in limited quantities.

OOC/ MF contracts awarded.

The incoming message from the Committee brought a faint smile to Saffron's face. They were interested. Granted, they were more interested in the mobile fueling port but it was an in. It was a start.

Quickly, Saffron reviewed what she knew about the Outer Coalition and the sort of ships they were apt to use. This was collected from their trading partnerships as well as what had been currently requested for this procurement.

They needed something modular, and thankfully, MaraTbix already made something similar in partnership with Arceeneau Trade company with the construction of the New Citadel station.

With this in mind, Saffron completed a new Request For Proposal reply:

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR OUTER RIM COALITION

Background
The Outer Rim Coalition wishes more information on the mobile refueling vehicle or service. Some parts of Coalition territory needed that kind of infrastructure, and not just for starfighters.
Scope
Haven Shipyards and MaraTibx, subsidiaries of Arceneau Trade Company wish to propose two viable options for a mobile refueling port or starship:

Mobile Fuel Port
  • Hyperspace capable
  • Fuel efficiency with Solarium Solar Panels to provide multiple methods of energy. Solarium Glasteel viewports provide enhanced sustainable energy as well as protection for workers.

  • Fuel port: The Mobile Fuel Port is designed to offer a variety of methods of recharging fuel cells or providing liquid fuel at a fast turnaround time. One might say it is the fastest mobile fuel cell recharger to date. It can convert solar, wind, algae, liquid fuel, sea and atmospheric methods of recharging fuel cells, to include quintessence energy. It contains a refined Isotope-5 Power generator for the longevity of energy. Advanced Fuel canisters and Fuel Cells provide a reduction of risk from energy, emp/ion, and moderate kinetic damage.

  • Defenses: The Mobile Fuel Port has excellent defenses of a typical military station along with advanced particle and ray shielding. It provides self-sustaining, breaks apart modules to ensure the safety of the workers in the event of an emergency with fuel detonation. The mobile fuel port has triply reinforced hull plating made of a mixture of Alusteel, Agrinium, and matrix armor.

  • The port provides self-sustaining break apart modules that can adjust and be extended with fuel port connectors and Squib Tractor Beam technology. This, along with the enhanced safety features of the MTX fuel canisters, allowed for individualized shield protection for each fuel container. They also contained separate umbilical connections for ease of moving in and out of a ship to the port for fueling. The addition of manipulative arms and welders allow for minor repairs of starships while docked if required in an emergency.

Mobile Fuel Transport Ship

  • Hyperspace capable
  • Fuel efficiency with Solarium Solar Panels to provide multiple methods of energy. Solarium Glasteel viewports provide enhanced sustainable energy as well as protection for workers.
  • In a more compact design, the MTX Fuel Transport is designed a highly portable method that offers the ability to recharge fuel cells or providing liquid fuel at a fast turnaround time. Based on necessity, it can convert solar, wind, algae, liquid fuel, sea and atmospheric methods of recharging fuel cells. It contains a refined Isotope-5 Power generator for the longevity of energy. Advanced Fuel canisters and Fuel Cells provide a reduction of risk from energy, emp/ion, and moderate kinetic damage.
  • The Fuel Transport will have triple-reinforced hull plating made of a mixture of Alusteel, Agrinium, and matrix armor.
  • Umbilical cords and Tractor Beam technology provide an ease of connecting to larger ships, while modable arms allow for quick docking of smaller vehicles.
  • High safety measures include the enhanced safety features of the MTX fuel canisters, allowed for individualized shield protection for each fuel container.

Schedule
One month turn around per mobile fuel port. Packaged deals may reduce time of assembly for Fuel Transports.

Staff
Haven Shipyards and MaraTibx staff.

Cost
Initial higher than moderate costs for a fuel port, however, fuel costs reductions over a long period span and time saved. Sustainable energy via solarium technology provides for a decrease in tibanna gas fuel use when not in use. Fuel transport provides for a more affordable means of fuel transport at purchase and a reduction of fuel costs and less dependency on outside fuel sources as years progress.

The committee, in due course, returned its verdict after consultation with the right authorities. The new fuel carrier was extremely secure, no doubt about that. It could shrug off the average Wild Space pirate-slash-alien incursion with ease, and only specialized tactics could make a dent. The problem was price. Still, even a small handful of these massive, durable ships would make a fantastic impact on service delivery between ORC's far-flung worlds and outposts.

OOC/ Major Faction contract granted.

The incoming message was enough to bring a wide smile to the young blonde's face. Her hard work had paid off. Sure, it would be MaraTibx and Haven Shipyards that would be getting the benefit of this transaction, but it was her own doing and preparation of the bid that paved the way for the Outer Rim Coalition to accept it.

With a smile, she would send a message back thanking the Outer Rim Coalition for their consideration and acceptance of the bid.

Now it was simply a matter of instructing that any of the fuel transports that are ready for delivery to be delivered. If there required more production, then she would try and encourage a faster turn around.

A happy customer, after all, was a returning customer.
