The Stargo-class Battlecruiser is a shining example of the offensive capabilities of the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Navy. Named after the late and great Zev Stargo, who lost his life in service to the Confederacy, this vessel is poised to act as the mainstay of the CIS Armada; leading the charge into the majority of the faction's naval operations. Offense is the central idea of the Stargo-class, and due to this it is often deployed alongside smaller support ships who fill the role of carriers or are characterized by a more balanced build. It's intended purpose is to be a fiercesome combatant on the field of battle; and to this end all excess, such as cargo space and passenger capacity, has been removed in order to accommodate additional weaponry.
Assuming the form of the archaic Munificent-class Star Frigate, the Stargo-class Battlecruiser is a literal "blast from the past". The decision to base the design off of the appearance of a signature vessel of the first incarnation of the Confederacy of Independent Systems was to grant the nation's military forces an iconic link to the past; such as the Empire's continual usage of Star Destroyer models similar in appearance to the Imperial-classes. However, in terms of durability, armament, and overall performance on the field of battle, the Stargo-class Battlecruiser far outshines its predecessor in all areas.
To begin, the Stargo-class Battlecruiser benefits from the manner of hull construction which has become standard of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Though it means additional weight, the hulls are doubly fortified in comparison to the norm; coupled with the incorporation of Turadium for additional durability. While this does have an impact on the vessel's speed, it also has quite the impact on the vessel's vitality in the event of a shield drop. Furthermore, keeping with the idea of removing as much excess as possible, the Stargo-class Battlecruiser boasts automated systems and droid personnel akin to those of the Lucrehulk-class Battleship of old; thereby cutting down its overall required crew by a rather sizeable sum!
In terms of armaments, the Stargo-class Battlecruiser boasts a diverse selection of weapons which can hammer opponents from a variety of ranges and address a great number of ship types. Furthermore, its possession of an assault warhead launcher makes it an even greater opponent against foes on the ground. All in all, the Stargo-class is an exceptionally offensive-centric vessel whose main shortcomings lie in its speed and the overall lacking of complementary cargo and vessels.
