Starlines Interconnected is a rapidly expanding logistics company with origins in Kuat and originally focused on transporting parts to the driveyards and finished ships from them. This business expanded with time as the company received a larger share of the transportation contracts. The reason for this growth is largeley believed to be comprised of three factors: An incredible sales team, low prices and advanced logistical capacities.
With time, Starlines Interconnected moved on to transport more goods. Not only too and from the Kuati shipyards but also parts between different component manufacturers, raw materials from one world to the next or simply finished products going from a seller to a private buyer. Eventually, the company started running regular trips between worlds due to demand from companies to lower friction in regards to the movement of people. Due to enjoying large amounts of success, Starlines Interconnected has begun a journey towards breaking into the tourism market with a particular focus on affordable cruises.
Ever since its creation, the company has paid its taxes and offered its employees fair salaries and adequate working conditions. Like all rapidly expanding companies, it has been in a few legal disputes with its competitors and - occasionally - its customers. Winning some and losing some, Starlines has always been able to recover and maintain a fine reputation of rugged reliability. Naturally, there were some speculation on why the headquarters moved to Denon with the most prominent belief being that it was for tax-related reasons. Despite this, it is not rare for Starlines to, within the frame of PR promotions, to do charity and work closely with charitable organisations.
Under the surface, however, the company is controlled by well hidden and highly inactive Imperial assets. This has helped it when in dire need of funds, gaining customers and setting up its logistical apparatus.
RATIONALE
The company has a clear business focus but is ready to further its Imperial patrons covertly if the need arises.
