DESCRIPTION
A new item coming out of the labs of Starchaser Enterprises, the StarMapper Mk II. was created to work hand in hand with StarHunt probe droids. This system launches a number (ranging from 6 to 18) droids into space, that use ion engines to arrange themselves quickly, and away from the starship. StarMapper picks up signals from the StarHunt droids, and analyzes their data. The module needs to be turned on and turned off, and while it is in run mode, it is a large drain on a starship’s systems, preventing local sensors and offensive weapons, however it does allow for the use of engines and any passive defensive systems to still run. A skilled pilot will know the limits of their ship, and the local system. While this still can be used on much larger ships, freighters, corvettes, and frigates the preferred use by factions, corporations, and private contractors to perform these exploration missions. Ships that are running stealth or cloak systems, may find a drain on their ship’s power plant and may lose these systems, or they may run intermittently. Caution is advised.

It is highly recommended that ships use extreme caution with this module during trips through unfriendly space, as science and exploration shouldi be a universal language and allow for immunity between borders, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Data can be stored on a ship’s local datacore, in the current navigation system, or transmitted to any number of data storage platforms.
